Chapter 6

Karina POV

After the blurry eyesight I have and feeling dizzy when I saw a blood, I woke up again feeling awful. I can feel someone hands in my legs trying to elevate it. I can feel now the grass touching my back as I tried to open my eyes seeing the artificial sun.

"I'm still here," I jokingly said.

When I completely opened my eyes, I tried to sit and catch my breath. And there, I saw William trying to be calm while still pinching my foot. "I'm sorry," I told him. I sat down and saw his sterling gold eyes staring at me. "You have Vasovagal syncope?" I nodded.

I was 10 years old when I discovered this kind of condition I have. Everytime there's a blood, I automatically faint. I look at him, head to foot but he is completely look good again. "I saw your bruises and scars a minute ago... and blood, but you're now completely fine, how come?" My eyes wandered his body that are now completely clean and there's no trace of scars left.

I saw his brows knitted. "Aside from being afraid of blood, you're forgetful." It was only then that I remembered that he was a Vampire. "You healed yourself?"

I mean, I read books about vampires in Good Novel, but I never thought this is somehow real! "We Vampires healed faster-than-normal healing capabilities. Since we're a hybrid, we are more than you expected Karina." Then he squinted.

My curiosity is knocking my insides that he may wanted to share anything that I am willingly wanted to hear. I am not afraid nor trying my best to live, but I'm sure 85% of me wanted to know about him. "Tell me more. Why you're here? Is the game already done? Did I able to survive?" I heard him chuckled and I could say that it is satisfying to hear him relax in his chuckle.

For a Prince like him who his people normally sees him as an authoritative person, this is the least he can do. To chuckle, to smile a little bit and have some talks without thinking about his people. "You haven't heard Joshua earlier when he's crying?" I immediately shook my head and look at him innocently. "

I only heard you gasping and your... heartbeat." I saw him amused by what I said and get back to stare and see the sun but then he immediately closed his eyes. Like humans he can't stare the sun for long.

"It's artificial but at least we can see the sun. Zorana means Dawn and hybrids are children of Dawn," he said smiling. " The city where we are all Hybrids. A half witch half Vampire, a half vampire psychic and half werewolves and like me who is a half Vampire and half werewolves." When he looked at me I saw again his sterling gold eyes. This is the eyes that I saw at the night club before.

Now, I finally have the answer why I feel like his eyes is so good to be true because he is a hybrid. "But how about the sanguinarian troops? Aren't they part of Zorana?" He looked heavenward. "Ravens are cousins of Ardelean. But they want to dominate us hybrids and wanted to make us into Sanguinarian. That's when my father, the king and my uncle Alexander had their agreement."

I wait him to complete his stories, but the front stage is open again and we saw that Joshua who regain his strength from the defeat he had in the first game were looking at me smirking. "When are we gonna say that you win?" I saw him screwed up his face. "After 2 wins in a game means we're done, but if he got it even in the 2nd game means we're doomed."

As I stare at the ceiling, my dizziness slowly faded. Even people here are the caused of my dizziness. Wait, they’re not people! Damn! Ardeleans’ are monsters!

The game was like a dream while sleeping but I could not sleep after that. They needed 2 games and after that first game, I don’t want to live here!

“Stop pretending that you can’t move.” I sighed deeply and put an eye to a silhouette of a woman. “Lucy.” She sat down in the side of the bed and sighed.

“I believe we need to clear things here, Karina.” I turned my face away. I could not stare at her eyes. I am guilty. “I know that you’re using me to get informations about Ardeleans’.”

“You can now ask questions of what I have and after that I will ask you questions too.” She tapped the bed and ask me to sit down. I bit my lip and can’t compose my questions. She stared at me with her blank face like I could not read her emotions. Is she angry or is she gonna bite me?

“I won’t bite you.” I felt like the color of my face drained out for a second. “What are you?” I asked.

Her eyes darted into my eyes before she gave a half-smile. “I know that you saw everything in the Arena my dear friend.” She winked.

She told me to stand up and we will explore the palace. She assures me that everything will be fine. “We are vampires.” for the 10th time my eyes widened hearing that they are vampires.

Did I just slept with a vampire?

“And you’re not an exemption.” My brows knitted after what she said. I was still following her until we reached the veranda of the palace. Where we could see the houses and buildings around the Zorana. “Woah, a city in a forest.” Indeed a city in a forest. Where houses and buildings in a circle form and outside that are the tress that surround it.

“Winstons’ are part of Ardeleans’. They said that your parents serve for a long time before they’re gone. My mother, the Queen, still can’t believe about the news. And if she ask you about where are your parents, don’t tell her that they’re dead.” She pressed her lips together while watching the view. “Why?” I asked in confusion.

She rested her chin on her palm, “She will gone mad.” She ask someone for a coffee and I wonder who was it. Then a minutes after, coffee was serve. Woah, to be this powerful. “She used to be close to your mother and news like that will make my mom suffer.”

While sipping her coffee, she sighed again. “Now, it’s my turn to ask.” She give me an eye before asking and her eyes speaks for it. “Where are your parents?” I lowered my head and remember what happened.

“They died in-front of me.” I saw how an Ardeleans’ killed both of them. They we’re begging for their lives. I was still young back then, a high school student. Wondering about dreams, making sure I can get what I want. Not until I saw my parents getting killed. They put me in a closet where a person stabbed them. “Before they lost their breath, they said Ardelean.” Tears filled in my eyes while remembering how traumatic it was to see it in your own eyes.

“I guess that’s how you start investigated. But it wasn’t us, it was the sanguiranians.” My forehead furrowed again hearing those words. “Did how it was connected to my parents?” she sighed deeply again.

“You’re not human, you’re a witch.” My brows knitted, “are you saying I’m a hoe?” she laughed and her eyes lit up.

“No, I mean you do magic like a witch does.” I lifted an eyebrow because of what I heard. “My life is a joke to you, Lucy?”

She let out a laugh again and invited me to eat lunch. She never bothered explaining again of what I have heard from her. “William will explained to you, we share the same age. That’s the only information that I know.”
