Odessa POV

“Uh… are you two related?” I asked, my heart racing so fast I thought I might faint.

“Me, related to Rune? Hell no.”

Rune entered the kitchen, arms crossed, and displeasure evident on her face.

“So you’re not together either?” I asked, nervously.

“Hell no to that, too,” Heath responded.

“You shouldn’t be talking to her, Heath. She’s a murderer.”

I felt like a rock had hit my chest. I didn’t expect her to understand the death of her brother. I’d done my best to avoid her and her family. It was easy because I was fired from her job and her father fled the town.

“You accused your Luna of murder. You might have bigger balls than me,” Heath said.

I covered my mouth to stifle my laugh.

“I just might,” Rune spat.

“You know what, I’m going to go. You two look like you need catching up to do.”

“You’re not going anywhere. I couldn’t give a damn why Heath’s here, but I have a bone to pick with you.”

“I don’t have anything to say right now.”

“How about I’m sorry for murdering your brot

  • The Quarterback's Omega Mate   Chapter 95

Odessa POV“How the hell did he find out?” Maverick’s voice drew me out of my deep sleep.I slipped into his t-shirt and followed his distressed voice.“I had a jet ready and waiting to take her out of town. The safe house’s ready too.”I found Maverick pacing, half-dressed in front of the fireplace.“When’s he landing?” Maverick asked. What’s going on now?“Okay, fine. We’ll double the security. I’ll see you at training.” Maverick said before hanging up the phone.“What happened?” I asked.“Oh, Wildcat, I didn’t mean to wake you. Barnette found out about the baby. We’re all in trouble.”Now, I was scared to check my phone because Mom would have bombarded me with furious messages about me not telling her all the juicy details.“You’re the Alpha, you can’t be in trouble,” I teased.“You don’t know Barnette when he’s mad. We’re talking about his little girl here.”“Yeah, you’re right. So, Sienna isn’t leaving?”Maverick nodded. “No, Barnette and your mother and on their way back. You kn

Odessa POV“My love, listen to me.”“Don’t call me that!” Storm roared.I jumped. I’d never seen him this mad before. The veins in his neck popped out. His face was beet red, and his fists were tightly clenched. I believed he might even cut himself with his nails.“Odessa, get in the car,” he ordered.Alera glared at me, but I wasn’t her focus anymore.I scurried across the road and escaped to the safety of the passenger side of the car.“How much did you hear?” Alera asked.“Doesn’t matter. What I saw is much worse. What did you do to yourself?” Storm demanded.“I didn’t do anything. There’s a lot you don’t know.”“You’re a witch? How?”“Storm…” Alera pleaded.“Don’t come any closer. Odessa, get in the car.”I hesitated before I moved.“What are you going to do?” Alera asked. “Let me explain. My mother was a witch, and my father was a wolf. He took me away from her when I was a child. This is who I am.”“How could you keep that from us?”“I had no choice,” she said, her voice breakin

Odessa POVAlera withdrew her hand. She pulled out two thick black gloves from her bag and slipped her fingers into them.“I’m surprised you know,” She said.“How?”“Because my children don’t know. Not even my ex-husband and I were married to Barnette for years. Nothing got passed him aside from my true identity.” She said it as if it were a major accomplishment.“So your children are hybrids too, huh?”“No. My magic never passed down to them. That doesn’t mean their blood isn’t unique. Especially Sienna. Girls are more favoured in the coven.”“I don’t get it. Are you trying to initiate your daughter?”She laughed softly. “There are details you don’t need to know.”“Come on. You asked her to get rid of her baby. Whatever you’re doing must be so important that you’d freeze your heart to your granddaughter.”“I have no granddaughter. Sienna will do the right thing,” Alera spat.“Sienna and Ryder are working things out. You might not know, but that baby carries my blood too. I’ll protect

Odessa POV“So, Kitten,” Maverick spat and kicked the door shut.I rolled my eyes. “Quit it.”I could feel the jealousy through the mate bond and smell it in the air. The scent of Maverick’s jealousy was actually quite sexy.“Heath didn’t do anything wrong. He stopped arguing with you after he saw me. That’s quite gentlemanly if you ask me.”The smirk on my face had barely formed before Maverick had me pinned against the wall. His hand curled around my face, forcing me to look at him.My wolf pressed into me, excited by her mate’s dominant display. I yanked her back.“Don’t do that, you’re encouraging him!” I scolded her.She whimpered and bowed her head.“You’re so sexy,” he whispered. “It’s not like I blame him.”The blend of jealousy and dominance set off his Alpha power. Maverick exuded power and a presence that flexed his authority to any wolf within any close radius.“You’re being dramatic.”He leaned in and brushed his lips against mine. So faint, his presence was barely even t

Odessa POV“Are you looking for another job?” Evyn asked me.We met up after my muscle rehab class. My classes were getting harder and harder. The time I spent in Nassgar put me behind on my lectures. The last thing I wanted was to repeat a module. I was so done with college.“It’s going to be impossible to get another job, Evyn. I wonder what’s going to happen after I graduate.”“You won’t need to work anyway. You’re the Luna.”“I don’t believe it sometimes. I like my job, though. I’m worried I’ll be stuck working with the elderly of Daciana. Anyway, there’s a lot at the pack house to keep me busy.”I mostly liked working for the Wildcats because I got to spend a lot of time with my mate. Now he’s there all day with Rune.“Ugh, look who’s lingering around,” Evyn hissed.I followed her gaze to where Rune walked with a group of young women to the café.“What’s she doing here?” I whispered.“She doesn’t even go here!”“Never mind her. I’ve got to be at the pack house. There’s a ton of w

Maverick POV“Where is she?” I muttered to myself as I wandered around the house. She wasn’t with Evyn because she was with Storm on the couch, getting a little bit too comfortable together.“Looking for your kitten, I see.”“What did you call her?” I growled.Heath grinned. He knew he’d gotten under my skin.I turned to see Alpha Heath, leader of a relatively young pack and running back for the Silver Serpents. Heath didn’t like how his father was running the pack, so he started another one next door.Everyone thought he was crazy.“I’d be worried if I were you. She took off with Rune.”“Shit!”“Relax, she seems like she can handle herself,” Heath smirked.I’d known Heath a long time. He was vicious and wild when it was called for. He was even worse on the pitch.“What are you doing here, Heath? Last time I checked, you didn’t ask for permission to be here.”“I don’t need permission if you’re in my debt.”“Debt? Do I look like I’d need to borrow money from you?”Heath grinned. “This
