It was getting close to nightfall, and I had previously mind linked Atreyu to inquire about Roxy. She was currently at a diner just by my house and she was alone. I decided to pop in and check on her myself.

I, of course, wouldn’t make it seem like I was following her. Instead, I would make it seem like I had randomly just bumped into her. Axel came to life at the thought of seeing his chosen mate again, and honestly my mind could use the distraction.

I materialized a block away from the diner planning to walk in nonchalantly. I was going back and forth in my mind trying to figure out the perfect way to act like we just ran into each other and not give away the fact that I was indeed following her.

I had to push Axel into the back of my mind because his internal dialogue was driving me mad. I wouldn’t have been able to keep up my charade with his insistent howling anyway.
