CHAPTER 53: LOOMING DEATH

Rat-ta-ta.

Peung. Peung.

“Take cover!”

“Over there! Get these sons of bitches!”

Bullets were flying everywhere, and bodies were falling to the ground, blood oozing and the scene not very pleasant to look at.

That was the scene that greeted the woman in red.

Seeing her men lying dead on the ground, their bodies riddled with bullet holes, she hated whoever was behind this so much.

With fury raging inside of her, she raised her gun, taking cover behind a pillar, picked a target and took a shot.

Unfortunately, as if the person she was aiming for had eyes behind his head, the man dodged the bullet and while she was in shock of such a thing – as in missing for the first time, she growled in pain as a searing pain pierced right through her shoulder.

She had been shot.

Infuriated at this unexpected attack, she took over elsewhere and started spraying bullets at any military men she saw and yet these men as if bathed in charm water, weren’t falling.

At first, she panicked at seeing how she wasn’t able to take down the enemy while her own men were dying like flies sprayed with mutated insect killing spray.

However, when she spotted the werewolf being targeted by the military men with precision, her heart sank as realization started dawning on her.

The way these men were fighting and facing off against a werewolf, it was as if they weren’t scared of it. In fact, it was as if they already knew that such a species existed. Since that was the case, then did that mean that there were other supernatural beings around who were behind these military men?

Thinking about how she was also working under someone’s orders, these men might be like her as well. if that was the case, why focus on the people who didn’t matter?

She started loading her gun, her hands a bit shaky but the determination on her face spoke volumes.

“You think that I will just let you take over like that, you coward. Come out and face me!” feeling angry at the unseen assaulter who was only sending gunmen after them, the woman yelled angrily, hoping to let whoever was behind them to come out.

Little did she expect that her dream was about to come true.

“Are you …… perhaps looking for me?” came the response, just right in front of her, and the woman in red lost it.

Standing in front of her was a young woman, with a pair of beautiful emerald eyes she felt so tempted to poke out and play with them like marbles. Who didn’t like shiny things?

She stood there, dressed in all-black, her hands spread wide and her auburn hair flying and floating in air like a ghost. If it weren’t for such a pretty face, and if some dark veins had been added, she might have mistaken the other party for a dark witch.

She had seen how disgusting those dark witches looked like and this young woman didn’t look as such.

To think that all this massacre, this ambush and this loss was being caused by one little girl. The woman in red was simply so angry and her urge to poke those eyes and play with them even increased.

“What are you doing this? I don’t remember getting in your way.” However, she understood priority and her condition.

Since the other party was able to appear in front of her without alerting and alarming her, it could be seen that the young woman wasn’t one to be trifled with.

She didn’t know whether she was a witch or some kind of supernatural being. Being a human herself, she didn’t have such power to fight against this woman, she could only try some tactics.

Elowyn’s lips curled slightly upwards as she sensed what this inhumane woman was trying to do.

She titled her head to the side and mockingly responded, “you are standing in my way already. Can’t you see that?”

“You …” the woman in red snapped but managed to hold off her tongue as she looked at Elowyn who had a sinister smile on her face. “What do you mean? Can’t we talk things out?”

“Haha!” Elowyn broke into a hearty laughter when she heard that, making the two girls hidden in the shadows to click their tongues as they shook their heads.

‘She is doomed!’ they sentenced the woman in red to her doom before continuing with their part of their duties, and more bodies continued to fall mercilessly.

“What are you laughing at?” angry at the way Elowyn was treating her, the woman in red snapped, her hand shaking as she holds the gun, readying herself to fire at any moment, once Elowyn was distracted.

However, her small move despite being hidden was noticed by someone who was some distance away, and a small rat sneakily made its way towards the woman in red, and the woman remain unfortunately unaware.

“You dare try to talk conditions with me? You are also a woman but why are you so evil? Why must you engage in this vile trade? Don’t you feel sorry for them? They are just like you and yet you don’t even flinch when you send those poor little girls and women to their doom. What gives you ….. a heartless woman who sees nothing but profit the right to negotiate with me?” Elowyn angrily retorted the woman in red, pointing her finger at her, her aura quite murderous which kind of fanned the wind and made her hair become even more eerie.

The woman in red at hearing that felt faint hearted as she realized that this group of people already knew what they were doing. They came prepared and as for how they were exposed, she wasn’t sure. But she knew one thing. It was either die or kill, for her right now.

And she wasn’t planning on making this night her last.

There were still many things she hasn’t done yet and most importantly, she refused to die in the hands of such a young woman regardless of her supernatural status.

She was unwilling.
