CHAPTER 38: RED LOTUS TATTOO

“ …… life is a race …..oh~~” she hummed beamingly as she zipped her suitcase.

It’s been a while since she woke up and started writing that diary entry. Thankfully, she managed to jot everything down without any hitch and got time to check her bags one last time.

After zipping her small suitcase, she dusted her hands and looked around to check if there was something that she had missed. However, nothing seemed to click, so she took on the next chore.

Twenty minutes later, Elowyn had changed into a pair of denim shorts and a baggy t-shirt with her long auburn hair tied into a high ponytail.

Satisfied with her dressing, she happily hummed another tune as she made way out of the villa, her destination, the Alpha’s villa.

Since there were just one villa apart, it wasn’t long before she got there.

Knock. Knock.

She knocked twice as formality and despite not hearing him calling her to enter, she opened the door and walked in.

She inhaled a deep breath, taking in that intoxicating scent she had been smelling lately whenever she was around the places that Kayden was. It was refreshing and made her blood race wildly. She liked it. It was soothing and made her crave for more.

“Come to the study!” his baritone voice called out from the farthest room on the first floor and she grinned as she raised her feet, walking in that direction.

Shortly, she was knocking lightly on the opened door and the man’s deep voice sounded, “enter!” and she hurriedly did so, a playful grin on her face.

These past two years were very complicated, with both good and bad events happening. She wasn’t someone who liked focusing on the bad stuff. Life was too short to be embroiled in such. She might as well focus more on the wonders of what life brings her when surrounded by the people who truly cares for her.

It so happens that Kayden’s care for her was very bountiful and she had seen that in these past two years. She was eternally grateful. Without his care and attention, then everyone in the pack wouldn’t have taken her seriously. That would have gone very bad. thankfully, he was a sweetheart and someone she had gotten used to be around.

Above all, when around him, she was more of herself and didn’t bother to hide much though as she looked at the man who was furrowing deeply, obviously having troubles somewhere, she felt slightly guilty.

If he knew what she was really up to, he would be mad at her, right?

Unfortunately, she couldn’t bear to let him know lest he involves himself. She didn’t dare bring harm to him.

“Brother Kay!” she called out to him, a smile on her face as she erased the other emotions boiling in her.

Kayden raised his head to look at Elowyn who had grown in these past two years into a young and mature woman who turned heads wherever she went.

His gaze softened as he saw her bright smile but as he continued to look at her, he couldn’t help but look at those exposed thighs and his gaze darkened upon seeing that enchanting red lotus tattoo, Elowyn had came back with one day after going out to the supposed camping with her friends six months ago.

It was so striking and one couldn’t help but look at it and get enchanted by it.

“You!” he gritted his teeth as his eyes narrowed glaring at her but Elowyn who was used to this merely stuck her tongue at him playfully as she made herself comfortable at the chair across Kayden and even crossed her leg, making the tattoo more vivid.

Kayden upon seeing that took a deep breath as he closed his eyes before snapping them open, his emotions in check.

Elowyn giggled softly finding Kayden’s reactions very pleasing and entertaining. It made her feel great seeing his in such a state. He was quite a bully when training her. It was only at times like these, she could beat him. She reveled in his misery but what else could be done?

She could only enjoy the moment while apologizing internally. It wasn’t like she wanted that to happen, but who made her a seer?

As if her ancestor didn’t want the world not to know who she was. One day she just woke up with the damn tattoo on her thigh. What was she supposed to do?

Thankfully, throughout all the ages, seers were recognized by the mark on the forehead and not anywhere else. So, she was currently safe.

As long as she wasn’t forced to reveal her forehead mark, no one would ever know.

Anyway, feeling slightly sorry for the fuming Kayden, Elowyn, who knew didn’t have much time in the pack since her friend from out of town was coming to pick her up opened her mouth and coyly said, “Brother, I will be leaving. Didn’t you prepare a gift for me?” and shamelessly asked for a gift as if she was going away for a long time.

Kayden scoffed as he harrumphed upon hearing that.

This little girl had been getting shameless with each passing day and he couldn’t bear to do anything to her.

Elowyn blinked cutely at him and coaxingly said, “Brother, I promise. This time, I will bring you a present. Hehe, I have saved some money!” enticing him with a gift of her own.

[Can you bear her acting so cute like that? You old man! Make her happy. At this rate, alas, we are going to die without marking our mate!] Caesar mocked and Kayden rolled his eyes inwardly upon hearing that.

‘Stop saying our mate. That will only complicate things.’

[Anyway, it doesn’t matter. I am set on her and so are you. You better make your move fast lest someone else does. Who knows if where she is going, she has a secret lover there?]

Kayden felt that ignoring Caesar at that moment was the right choice. If he continues, he might get angry in front of Elowyn and that wouldn’t look good for him. With that in mind, he pushed Caesar away and focused on Elowyn who was still waiting for an answer, completely clueless about his inner thoughts.

“You know that promises can’t be reneged, right?” without showing much emotions, Kayden asked Elowyn who nodded heavily, a smile on her face.

She raised her fingers and swore, “I know. Don’t worry, this time, I will surely find you something good!” her promise very heavy and that finally put a smile on his face.

“Good! If you don’t fulfil your promise, then forgive me. I will have Bolton increase your training session. You have been slacking off lately!” a sly smile on his face and Elowyn’s face drooped as she accusatorily glared at Kayden.

However, the older man simply chuckled with glee and seems to enjoy her misery.
