“Alpha Ryan, alert the frontier wolves, I’m sure it’s the night patrol and the border guards who are engaged at present.” Diana promptly analyzed the situation, stepping into the responsibility of leadership in the absence of the pack Alpha.
“That’s right Luna, the alert has already been issued.” Alpha Ryan replied, he too had immediately taken the required action, as soon as the news of the attack reached him.
“That is good, dispatch a warning to the pack members, none of the Omegas, children and juvenile Alphas uncapable of combat should step out of the homes, tell them to secure their houses.” Diana instructed as she locked her own house securely, with her sleeping son inside.
“I have done that as well; five Beta wolves are already running the perimeter around pack borders, to assess the numbers of the enemy.” Alpha Ryan informed, as he accompanied the Luna towards the main packhouse.
“You are extremely reliable, Alpha Ryan, if not for you and with Stephan missing, we would have been done for.” Diana expressed her gratitude to the second in command of the Calyx, Stephan had chosen himself, an outstandingly capable comrade.
“We are lacking in number to send wolves to pack Nova for backup, I could go myself if you say so, Luna.” Ryan suggested, but Diana shook her head.
“We need you on the frontline, Alpha, as for calling for backup, leave that to me and assist the others.” Diana said and Alpha Ryan accepted his Luna’s command and turned into a gigantic, ash grey wolf, immediately sprinting away to aid the other pack members in combat.
“Luna we are being attacked, the rogues, they are everywhere, do something!” A panicked blonde man, entered the wooden cabin, where Diana stood behind the timber wood workspace, engrossed in a task.
The man was Gunther Marrok, Ashton’s father and Stephan’s younger brother.
“We are taking the necessary measures, Gunther, this is not the time to panic.” Diana wearily replied to the Alpha; Gunther, despite being the temporary in charge of the Calyx, did nothing but cower around the main house, while their pack was wallowing in crisis.
“What necessary measures, you are so irresponsible, how could you send the pack Alpha away like this!” Gunther accused, while Diana ignored him and kept scanning the area map, to pinpoint the shortest route towards pack Nova.
“I didn’t send him away, he was called upon for a meeting by the Council, and if you’re so responsible why are you roaming around here, go to the frontline, you are a trained Alpha.” Diana sternly retorted, silencing the Alpha with a sharp glare.
“Listen to me carefully, Gunther, I am leaving the pack to arrange for backup from pack Nova, Alpha Ryan and the others are already fighting, I will assign someone else to handle things here, I’m asking only one thing of you, my Elio is in the house all alone, please take care of him.” Diana said, her face grim, hazel eyes pinning the Alpha with a determined stare.
“Okay.” Gunther gulped and replied shortly, as he watched in stunned silence, when Diana stepped out of the main house and turned into a beautifully lithe, Golden-brown wolf.
The Luna of pack Calyx gave the last of instructions to a subordinate Beta wolf and swiftly sped through the wilderness, heading towards pack Nova.
Diana had just crossed the eastern borders of the Calyx when three different scents hit her nose, making her slow down to an eventual stop.
The shortest route to pack Nova was through the dense Oakwood Forest, from behind the waterfall.
The woods were eerily silent and the tall Oak trees loomed over the moonless sky, enveloping the pathway, in a stifling darkness.
Diana’s breaths were coming in heavy pants, as she had been running non-stop; but the moment her nose sensed the unmistakable scent of rogue wolves, she knew she could go no further without a fight.
She stood straight; her heart thudding rapidly in her chest, as she mind-linked all the three wolves.
“Show yourselves.” Her commanding voice prodded inside the heads of the creatures.
Three full-grown wolves stepped forward, two from the front and one from behind.
“Look what we caught Carter; it is the Luna of Calyx.” Diana could hear the taunting voices and laughs in her mind.
Two of the dark-furred wolves started circling Diana, as one of them stood in front, almost as if enjoying a show.
The scents meant, there were two Alphas and a Beta, in her current state, she could handle the Beta, but fighting two Alphas at once was not a possible match even for a trained Omega, like Diana.
“Why are you attacking my pack?” Diana questioned, obtaining a tense, defensive stance.
“No particular reason Luna, we were just bored, simply wanted to have some fun.” One of the Alphas answered, getting more amused when Diana growled in anger.
All of a sudden, the Beta beside her jumped on her in a surprise attack, bearing its jaw open, but Diana was faster, as she dodged him and dug her claws in one of its limbs, ripping the flesh open, successfully injuring the wolf’s side, as well as its pride.
“Oh, she’s a feisty one.” Another Alpha spoke, with a lecherous glint in its green eyes.
The Beta wolf limped a few steps away from Diana and attacked again, but this time together with one of the Alphas.
Diana managed to dodge the Beta once more, but the Alpha behind her smashed her face on the ground and stood with a forceful paw on her snout, grinning viciously.
Diana tried to wiggle in his grip, but the wolf dug its jagged claws in her shoulder, as the Luna howled in pain.
“I would have been gentler if you would have been in your human form Omega, you could have offered me you body.” The Alpha whispered in her mind, thoroughly enjoying the helpless anger that flashed in Diana’s bright, raging eyes.
“Oh, how I would love to see that mighty Alpha Marrok’s face, when he finds his Luna after we’re done with her, it would be priceless.” The Beta spoke, as all three wolves cackled, relishing in their pathetic dream.
“You will pay, you corrupt wolves will not get away with your actions.” Diana growled in their minds.
“You’re one to talk, you worthless Omega!” The Alpha yelled and sunk its claws deeper in her shoulder joint, as Diana jerked in agony, her excruciating howl echoed through the rustling trees of the deserted forest.
The Luna of pack Calyx whimpered in pain, she was helpless against the strength of these wolves, she couldn’t even reach pack Nova, everything was over.
Just as Diana was about to give up, even in her weak state, her nose caught the heavy scent of fresh lavender, that abruptly spread through the woods.
She could feel the Alpha’s grip on her jaws, loosen in confusion.
As the scent thickened, a solitary commanding voice ringed in all their heads; “Step back from my mother, or prepare to die.”

The three wolves turned in unison to face the glowing scarlet eyes, as a medium sized wolf emerged from the middle of the Oak trees, its silver fur standing out in the dark. “Didn’t you hear me?” the voice of the young wolf bellowed in their minds again, “I said step away from my mother, you filthy creatures!” The Omega shrieked at the wolves encircling Diana. “This has to be some kind of joke, an Omega pup is here to save the day, quick, act scared.” The Alpha holding a grip on Diana spoke up, “I guess it’s my luck-” The wolf didn’t get to complete, when suddenly, the white wolf lunged forward with blinding speed and lodged its jaws into the Alpha’s free forelimb, earning an anguished growl. Before the Alpha had time to react, Elio jerked his head with full force to the side, making the Alpha wolf tumble a few feet away, freeing his mother from the painful grip, as he rushed towards her. Elio nudged the blood-soaked snout of his mother’s golden-brown wolf, lying weakly on the grou
“Maa, open your eyes, talk to me please, don’t leave me, NO!” Elio screamed awake, panting and sweating, feeling as if someone was pounding on his head with rocks, “Ughh,” the Omega groaned, clutching his head. “Elio, are you okay, does it hurt anywhere!?” A familiar worried voice asked, the Omega rubbed his blurry eyes and blinked to see his friend Alwyn sitting on the corner of his bed, concern etched on his face. “Alwyn?” Elio asked in a daze, as he slowly looked around and realized he was in his own cozy bedroom, but then again, the events of the moonless night hit him like a boulder, his heart rate became rapid at the recollection of his mother’s state. “Maa!” Elio gasped, “Alwyn, where is my mother!?” The Omega asked, his body jolting in worry, he was so stupid, how could he have collapsed like that when his mother was bleeding so much, she was alive right? Alpha Ryan had come, he had saved her right? Elio’s thoughts were in absolute splits, he wasn’t even able to hear what A
“How dare that low class, wretched male Omega speak to me in that manner.” Alpha Darius grumbled while stomping through the main gate of the Packhouse of the Calyx. He was fuming in anger at the insulting behavior of the pack Alpha and his lowborn son, they had the audacity to tell him, who was an extremely respected member of the Council, to leave in such a rude manner, it was absolutely humiliating. Darius was walking across the field towards the guest lodge, simmering in his thoughts, when he felt someone following him. The Alpha turned abruptly to face a young black haired Alpha boy, who flinched when Darius had turned all of a sudden. The older Alpha’s enraged expression transitioned into an irritated one, as he raised his eyebrows questionably towards the timid looking, lanky Alpha boy. “I wanted to tell you something, mister Darius, my name is Ashton Marrok, the one who is going to be next pack Alpha.” Ashton spoke, trying not to show how scared he was, but his confidence c
Several thick layers of snow covered everything in sight, from the bare branches of the humongous Pines, to the jagged rocky lands and hill slopes, the solitary flowing river nearby too, was encased in frosty glass. The freezing cold vast stretches of the oddly aligned peaks, that were collectively called the Snowy Mountains, truly lived up to its name, providing a perfect set of conditions to ensure, that a werewolf either gets trained to its best abilities or dies of frostbite, and fortunately all the Alphas that were receiving the training currently, did not experience the latter. The special training camp for Alphas at the Snowy Mountains housed candidates from all places far and wide, almost all of them being absolute strangers to each other, but as the years passed by, most of the Alphas had formed a great bond together and despite being of a reserved nature, Adrian had befriended some amazing Alphas too. “Finally, we’re back, no matter how many times I do this, I’ll never rea
A week later of the chaos surrounding the attack and the Council investigation, Elio stood with a letter in hand, which was addressed to him and had come directly from the Central. The letter informed that the son of the pack Alpha of the Cypress, Alpha Enrique Czar, was duly going to arrive in two days’ time, with his personal sentinel, to investigate what had ‘actually’ happened during the staged rogue attack, since he was dissatisfied with the Council report. Maia and Alwyn had already told Elio about everything regarding the conversation between Ashton and Alpha Darius and he didn’t really understand as to why his older cousin hated him to the point of being disloyal to his own pack, he knew he was a male Omega and it was rare that people deemed his rank as likeable or even respectable, but he never did anything wrong to Ashton, in fact it was always the Alpha who belittled him every now and then. However, this time, Ashton Marrok had surpassed the limits of the Omega’s patience
“Happy Birthday Elio!” everyone shouted together, the moment the Omega entered the doorway of his house, just as the joyous chatter of the small crowd, overlapped with the ringing chime of the clock that struck twelve. The hall was decorated brightly with Elio’s favorite pastel colors and sparkly balloons, and only all the closest people to the Omega were invited to their little, surprise party. Elio had a big beautiful smile on his face that matched with his friends and his parents, as the Omega looked at the decoration as well as the decorators, with his maroon eyes glittering in adoration. Maia and Alwyn grabbed each of the Omega’s hands and pulled him towards the center, where his parents stood with a delicious strawberry shortcake. “Thank you so much everyone!” Elio squealed in joy, while he received synchronized kisses on both his cheeks by the Alpha and Luna of the Calyx, and the Omega wiggled his eyebrows teasingly, looking at his father, who threatened to smear icing on hi
Elio broke into a mesmerizing smile, as he passed a grateful nod towards Adrian, feeling his lost confidence seeping back into his body. His Addy was here now, there was nothing to fear. The Omega then intertwined his hands with the Alpha and they both walked towards the bonfire, where their parents were standing, drowned in conversation. The younger members of the crowd, who had witnessed the little exchange between Elio and Adrian, were left absolutely speechless, the female Omegas could do nothing but silently wallow in jealousy, seeing how a male Omega held more superiority in their idol Alpha’s eyes, than any of them. Ashton Marrok gritted his teeth in anger, he had never liked Adrian, the Alpha has annoyed him ever since they were kids, and the closeness between Elio and Adrian was even more so irritating to him. As more people started huddling towards the long, food tables, enjoying the various snacks and delicacies, the jubilant bonfire party, garnered an unwelcomed guest.
“Alwyn we only have tonight to find clues, tell Maia that once everyone goes to sleep, you both come meet me and Adrian in our backyard.” Elio instructed his friend in a low voice, who nodded and walked away to pass it on to his sister. The party was called off for the night, the huge bonfire had shrunken in size too, as a crescent moon glimmered right above it. The gathering had dispersed, but Alpha Fenrys and Adrian decided to stay the night, which made Elio more confident to carry out his plan, he told Adrian everything as they took a late-night walk around the fields, the suspected involvement of the Central with rogues and how Elio had purposely challenged Alpha Enrique, so they could find some solid proof. “You’ve become so brave, Elio.” Adrian complimented, with an admiring smile, to which the Omega giggled and looked at the Alpha with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Talking about bravery, somebody kissed my hand in front of the entire gathering tonight, what do you have t
