Chapter 14.

Allison’s POV.

I pull the covers away from me, immediately feeling whiplash from the cold sting in the air. Winter was close, the days getting shorter and the mornings now coveted in the dark.

My eyes fall upon my sweater draped across the back of my study chair, so I shrug that on before heading outside.

Stepping outside, my bare legs legs rise with goosebumps and I huddle into the large sweater I wore a little more. The cold felt refreshing to my skin though, and I revelled in it for a few minutes.

The sky was a mixture of blue and grey day was beginning, but not freed from the dark clutches just yet.

The grounds were empty, as expected. Occasionally a few maids or butlers would walk around, already having gotten up to prepare for the day ahead.

Otherwise, the paths were free of wolves. My eyes fixate on the loom of the sky, bordering to where it reaches land.

My head feels a little more collected than it was yesterday. After the discussion with Damian yesterday, I kept asking mysel
