Third POV. The more Oizys continued to inject Leila with the drug the more she frowned. It was supposed to work after ten times but she had injected her more than twenty times. Cause of this, she started to doubt whether Leila’s darkness was really locked up or not. “Leila, are you sure your darkness hasn’t awakened yet?” she asked with a frown on her face. As someone who has been taught how to read people’s expressions, Leila could tell that she had continued playing dumb for a long time making Oizys start suspecting her. Leila looked at her innocently and in confusion. “Aunt, you know I don’t know how to tell when my darkness is awake,” Leila said, making the alpha chuckle while Oizys face slapped herself cause she now understood why Leila wasn’t saying anything else apart from crying out loudly when she was being injected. She felt frustrated at how stupid she was believing that the little girl could detect it. “What are you feeling currently?” Oizys asked with a bit of worr
Third POV. “Dad?” Elana asked as she couldn’t believe it. Although it had been a long time since she saw her father, she couldn’t still recognize his voice anytime she heard it. She turned around and looked at the man who was at the entrance. If one didn’t know, they would mistake Josiah for being older than the other man because the man still looked young. “Yes it is me, my dear child,” Elias said with a smile on his face when he hurriedly walked towards his eldest daughter. Elana forgot how the others always saw her, ran towards her father, and jumped into his arms. “Dad. Why did you leave us?” she asked in a whisper as she cried. She poured all the grievances she had suffered and she had endured cause she didn’t want either Marcus or Leila to know on her father’s shoulder. “I am sorry dear but I have always had an eye on you guys,” Elias said as he patted her back as a way to soothe her. Hearing this, Elana stopped crying and looked at her father with anger in her eyes. “
Third POV.“Lyannette, go back home. Your father and I will go down there to see where we can help if Leila is in danger,” Selene said to her daughter who was walking out of Erebus's mansion.“Okay. I will be busy here anyway,” she said as she winked at her mom who chuckled as she understood what she was up to.Although it was risky doing so, she knew that Lynette was stronger than others thus she couldn't be defeated. Also, she would ask some of the warriors to be at her disposal if she needed their help.Erebus stood still as he was confused cause he didn’t know what to do.At the rogue's pack:Amaya looked at Oizys coldly as if she had never seen someone with the guts to hurt her. She looked at the puppet that had walked in with Oizys and had been standing behind her as if it were her bodyguard. The more she looked at it the more she felt familiar, making her frown as the only people she was supposed to feel familiar with were her mother and Elaine. The puppet felt eyes on it making
Leila's Pov.Blue has always been my favorite color. I don't know why maybe it's because my mom's eyes are blue and I love the sea? Today is my sixteenth birthday, my mom held a big party for this day. Every werewolf is expected to get his/ her wolf on their sixteenth birthday. I was coerced to wear a gown for this day, at least it was blue and so exquisite. I am currently seated on a bench outside the pack's hall where the party is taking place. The excitement of meeting my wolf is making me restless. I know for sure that my wolf will be big since I am a beta's daughter. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't notice people had already gathered outside to witness my first shift. I had always watched people get their wolves since I was young and I was so delighted that I was going to experience it today. "Sweetheart, maybe you should stand up for this. We don't want you to shift when you are seated on a bench, right?" mom asked, averting my attention."Yes mom, I think you ar
Leila's pov. It's been months since mom left us. Everything has changed for the worse. I may be a beta's daughter but I am being treated as an omega."Leila, hurry up. You don't want to be late for school," my sister shouted from downstairs. At least, she is still with me even when everyone has left me. I guess after all that blood is thicker than water as they say it."Let her sleep a little longer," Marcus, Elana's mate, said."Don't you dare! You have been spoiling her too much," she said back at him.I knew that if they started their little argument it would go on till evening."I will be down in a minute," I shouted, hoping to stop the argument."It is seconds remaining now," she said.Aaargh. She is making everything difficult. She has changed since her mom's death. She is strict and not a jovial girl anymore. Everyone blames me for mom's death. They say that I am cursed and that is why I wasn't blessed with a wolf and I was the main cause of my mother's death. As much as I want
Leila's Pov.I hate celebrating my birthday since it is the day Mom was killed. The thought of the day itself brings bitterness in me. In a few hours, I would be turning eighteen, maybe it isn't that bad. At least, I would be able to gain my freedom. At the age of eighteen, one is said to be independent since she has turned legal age. In the past, this place, the pack, and everyone in it was my family, they made me feel as if I was at home and comfortable, but now? It's like I am living in hell. To escape, I was in my room packing my belongings even though I had no idea where I would go after doing that. Each outfit had some memories with it. Some with Mom and others with Elana, even Marcus. I had never met my father, he died before I was born. Mom had never told me how he died but thinking about the current situation and the rogue's attack two years ago, I think he was killed by the rogues. I wish that I was strong enough to fight them. If only I was, mom would still be here with us.
Leila's Pov I ran as fast as I could towards the direction I had in mind. I could see the pack's boundary and my heart danced with joy knowing that in a few minutes, we would be free. I would be free from all the hatred, bullying and torture. What more could a mere girl like me ask for if it wasn't freedom? Freedom from the society itself and the people in it. The closer I got, the stronger the smell of freedom hit me, and the happier I became. The boundary was full of snow and as much as I wanted to play with it, I couldn't. I couldn't risk being caught. I had had a chance to smell freedom and there was no way I could let anyone take it away from me.As I crossed the border, some sadness but me but at the same time, I had loosened up. I was so sure that the sadness was because I had left my sister behind."I am finally free," I shouted then started laughing.I looked around and saw that the area was just surrounded by tall trees and grass. How I wish that werewolves ate grass, maybe
Unknown pov.Out of a behaviour he had created, he went to the pack borders to check what was going on. He may have a beta and gamma but he couldn't rely on them in everything. He believed that since he is the leader, he himself should check up on everything once in a while. Today being on a Friday, it was his day to keep an eye on the pack's bounder and guide it.It isn't as boring as you think since there is a garden full of lively flowers and a sea just below the hill, therefore, anyone who loves nature won't get bored. Most of the time, he gets requests from people who want to go to the border to have some fun as they guide it.He was enjoying the beautiful scenery when a small figure came into his sight. He wondered who it could be since he had never seen her in her pack but after a while, he concluded maybe she was from their neighbouring pack. They had never had an issue between them because they knew that the only people who could be called and reply to it very fast in times o
