Chapter 5

Unknown pov.

Out of a behaviour he had created, he went to the pack borders to check what was going on. He may have a beta and gamma but he couldn't rely on them in everything. He believed that since he is the leader, he himself should check up on everything once in a while. Today being on a Friday, it was his day to keep an eye on the pack's bounder and guide it.

It isn't as boring as you think since there is a garden full of lively flowers and a sea just below the hill, therefore, anyone who loves nature won't get bored. Most of the time, he gets requests from people who want to go to the border to have some fun as they guide it.

He was enjoying the beautiful scenery when a small figure came into his sight. He wondered who it could be since he had never seen her in her pack but after a while, he concluded maybe she was from their neighbouring pack. They had never had an issue between them because they knew that the only people who could be called and reply to it very fast in times of emergency were those close to them. The people from the Black moon also had an idea that there is a certain place with beautiful scenery which makes one relax their mind here hence they would sometimes visit the place.

He didn't know why he was so lost when he was looking at the girl. The young woman had stopped running when she saw the beauty in front of her. She appeared shocked which surprised Aiden since he thought that she was familiar with the place. He watched the girl as she sat down at the cliff and looked at the sea below her. He saw how happy she looked through her body language when looking at the sea but he could see a little tiredness in her. The girl sat there for a little longer and Aiden wondered why hadn't the girl not noticed that she wasn't alone. He had not seen her face but from how she behaved and carried herself, he knew that she was indeed beautiful and had something special in her.

After a little longer, the breeze hit him and it made him close his eyes as he breathed in the fresh atmosphere and allowed the breeze to hit him. That is why he loved this place. It may be outside his territory but his mother had made sure that the flowers in this place were well taken care of so that they do not wither before they blossom. He was a little stupefied when he opened his eyes and saw that the young woman had already told up and was looking at the sea calmly. He felt something off as if something was going to happen. He had not thought the woman to be suicidal, go him, the woman had only come here to enjoy the scenery but again he asked himself the same question. What if she wanted to kill herself?

Deciding to wait slightly longer so that he can see the woman's intention, he was ambushed when he saw the woman taking a few steps in front. He was afraid of what might happen yet he didn't know what to do in such a situation. His heart started beating faster and with each passing second, he got more nervous. He decided to approach her with the thought that maybe she would stop what she was planning to do. He took some steps towards her but halted when he saw her stepping backwards. He didn't know what had made her take that decision but he was relieved.

"Maybe she heard me going towards her," he thought.

Leila looked around as if she was searching for someone before they landed on Aiden. She then continued the search ignoring his presence which didn't go unnoticed by Aiden. Immediately he saw her face, he felt a certain pull towards her and the fact that their heartbeats were the same. He wanted it to be true, that he had found his mate he wasn't so sure of it. Leila looked back at him and was a bit flabbergasted since to her it was impossible. She could have another mate apart from the man who had rejected her. Second-chance mates were rare so it never occurred to her that she might have another mate out there.

As she took steps towards Aiden, she felt pain. The pain continued becoming unbearable and Aiden realised that she might be shifting. He had so many questions cause he could tell that the girl was eighteen years old then how didn't she have a won't when people gained their wolf at the age of sixteen? Pushing the thoughts aside for a little moment, he wondered how he would help her out.

"Just relax little wolf. You are just shifting," Aiden said.

"No, you are lying. I ….I have no …no wo….wolf," she stammered due to the pain which was becoming stringent.

"Aaah… it's painful," she cried once more. It broke his heart to see his mate in a search situation but he knew that there was nothing he could do.

"As I said before, just relax and give in," he said once more.

"B..bu…but…." she was unable to finish her sentence since the pain made her fall to the ground.

Out of worry, Aiden closed his eyes so that he could not see his mage going through so much pain. In a short while, Leila had completed her shifting and the place was as quiet as before. Taking the quietness as his clue to know that she had finished shifting, he opened his eyes and was amazed at what he was looking at.

A beautiful blue-grey wolf which was larger than the wolves from his neighbouring pack.

"You are so beautiful," he said, making the little wolf look downwards.

He remembered what his parents had done when he first shifted. Since he didn't have another idea, he shifted to his wolf so that the little she-wolf might not feel lonely. The big black wolf licked the blue-grey wolf and then jumped at it. They continued playing around, enjoying each other's company. After a few hours, they changed to their human form. Leila had not felt such happiness for a long time, but now, she felt as if she owned the whole world. Aiden kissed her which she reciprocated even though she had no experience with such a thing.

Aiden was relieved that she had not killed herself and also happy he had found his mate. He wanted to ask what had intrigued her to want to die but he didn't want to ruin the mood. He escorted her back to her back even though he wasn't aware that Leila had run away from that place.
