Title:

Rejected by My Alpha, Claimed by Another

The night of the mating ceremony was supposed to be magical.

Instead, it felt like a nightmare.

Lanterns hung from tall wooden poles around the clearing, casting golden light across the gathered wolves of the Shadow Moon Pack. Laughter and excitement filled the air as unmated wolves waited for the Moon Goddess to reveal their fated partners.

Aria Nightshade stood at the edge of the crowd, trying to make herself invisible.

She had never belonged here.

As the lowest-ranking omega in the pack, Aria was used to whispers, cold looks, and cruel laughter. No one expected anything important from her—not tonight, and certainly not ever.

She kept her head down, hoping the ceremony would end quickly.

“Look who showed up,” someone muttered behind her.

Aria didn’t turn around. She already knew the voice.

“Maybe the Moon Goddess will finally give the pack a miracle and give the omega a mate,” another wolf joked.

Quiet laughter followed.

Aria swallowed the familiar ache in her chest and stared at the ground.

Suddenly the crowd parted.

Alpha Damon Blackthorn stepped into the clearing.

The powerful Alpha moved with confidence, his dark cloak brushing against the ground as wolves bowed their heads in respect. His presence alone commanded silence.

Aria had always avoided looking directly at him.

But tonight, something forced her eyes up.

For a brief moment, their gazes met.

And the world stopped.

A strange warmth spread through her chest, sudden and powerful. Her heart began pounding wildly as a single word echoed inside her mind.

Mate.

Aria’s breath caught in her throat.

No.

It couldn’t be.

The Alpha slowly walked toward her, his sharp eyes narrowing as if he felt it too. The crowd began whispering again, confused by his direction.

Aria’s heart raced faster with every step he took.

When he finally stopped in front of her, the clearing had fallen completely silent.

For one fragile moment, hope flickered inside her chest.

Maybe… her life was about to change.

Then Damon’s expression turned cold.

Ice filled his eyes.

“I, Alpha Damon Blackthorn,” he said loudly, his voice echoing through the clearing, “reject you, Aria Nightshade, as my mate.”

The words crashed into her like a physical blow.

Gasps rippled through the crowd.

Aria felt the world spin around her as pain exploded inside her chest. The bond that had barely formed shattered instantly, leaving behind a hollow emptiness.

Her knees nearly gave out.

Whispers spread like wildfire.

“The Alpha rejected her…”

“An omega…”

“How embarrassing.”

Aria’s vision blurred with tears she refused to let fall.

She turned, desperate to escape the burning stares of the entire pack.

But before she could take a step, a deep voice suddenly cut through the chaos.

“Interesting.”

The voice was unfamiliar. Powerful.

Dangerous.

Every wolf in the clearing turned toward the entrance of the forest.

A tall man stepped out from the shadows, his silver eyes glowing faintly in the firelight.

The air grew heavy with dominance.

Even Damon stiffened.

The stranger’s gaze slowly moved across the crowd before settling on Aria.

Then he spoke words that froze the entire pack.

“The one you rejected,” he said calmly, “is my mate.

The forest slowly grew quiet again after the rogues disappeared.Only the sound of rustling leaves and Aria’s unsteady breathing filled the night air. Her heart was still racing from the fight, and the strange energy inside her had not completely faded.Kael stood a few steps away, watching the dark trees where the rogues had vanished.“They retreated too easily,” he said quietly.Aria wrapped her arms around herself, still shaken. “You think they’ll come back?”Kael nodded slowly.“Not just them.”He finally turned to face her. His silver eyes were serious now, far more serious than before.“They said their Alpha is looking for you.”Aria swallowed nervously.“I don’t even know why.”The voice inside her mind spoke again, calm but powerful.Because of what you are.Aria stiffened slightly.“What I am?” she whispered softly.Kael noticed her expression change.“Your wolf again?” he asked. She hesitated, then nodded.“It keeps talking to me.”Kael didn’t look surprised.“That usually h

The forest suddenly felt colder, darker, as if the shadows themselves were closing in around her.Kael stepped forward immediately, placing himself between Aria and the rogues. His silver eyes burned with fury.“You talk too much,” he said coldly. The scarred rogue only laughed.“And you protect her too much, Alpha.”Before anyone could react, the rogues lunged again. This time they attacked with even more desperation. Two of them rushed Kael while another darted toward Aria from the side.“Behind me!” Kael barked.Aria stumbled backward just as one rogue slashed at her. His claws barely missed her arm.Fear shot through her chest. She had never fought anyone before. But the voice inside her mind rose again. You must fight.Aria’s hands trembled.I don’t know how, she thought desperately. The wolf inside her answered calmly. Then l

The forest was silent as Aria followed Alpha Kael away from the clearing. The sounds of the pack slowly faded behind them—voices, whispers, the crackling of lantern flames—until nothing remained but the soft rustling of leaves beneath their feet.Aria’s heart still felt heavy. She had left without looking back. Her entire life had been inside the Shadow Moon Pack. Even though many of them had treated her badly, it was still the only home she had ever known. Now she was walking into the unknown with a man she had met only hours ago.Kael walked beside her confidently, his pace steady as if he had already made this journey many times before. After a few minutes, Aria finally broke the silence.“Where are we going?” she asked quietly.“To my territory,” Kael replied.Aria hesitated.“That’s… far from here, isn’t it?”Kael nodded.“Three days if we travel normally. One day if we run.”Aria blinked in surprise.“Run?”Kael glanced at her briefly, amusement flickering in his silver eyes.“I

The entire Shadow Moon Pack watched the two Alphas carefully, waiting to see who would make the next move.Aria could feel every pair of eyes on her.Her heart still raced from the strange power that had burst from her moments earlier. Even now, a faint warmth lingered deep inside her chest, like a sleeping fire that could awaken again at any moment.Damon broke the silence first.“You expect me to just let you walk away with her?” he asked coldly. His golden eyes burned with anger as he stared at Kael.Kael didn’t even look concerned.“Yes,” he replied calmly. The simple answer shocked the wolves surrounding them.Damon laughed harshly.“You really are arrogant, Ravenwood.”Kael tilted his head slightly, his silver eyes sharp.“No,” he said. “Just honest.”The two Alphas stared at each other again, their dominance pressing heavily against the clearing. Some of the weaker wolves had already backed away

The clearing remained silent after the shockwave faded.Dust drifted slowly through the air as every wolf in the Shadow Moon Pack stared at Aria in disbelief. Some looked confused. Others looked afraid.Aria stood frozen in the center of the clearing, her chest rising and falling rapidly. The strange energy inside her was still there, swirling beneath her skin like a storm waiting to break free again.“I… I didn’t mean to do that,” she whispered. But no one answered.Even Alpha Damon looked uncertain now, his golden eyes fixed on her with suspicion instead of anger.“What kind of trick is this?” he demanded harshly.Aria shook her head weakly. “It’s not a trick…”Another faint pulse of energy rippled through her body, making the ground vibrate slightly again.A few wolves stepped back immediately.Damon noticed. His expression hardened.“You’re hiding something,” he said accusingly. “What are you?”Aria didn’t know how to answer.Because she didn’t know the truth herself. Before she c
