CHAPTER 30

Aurora

Looking at Alpha Darius at the gym brought back all the pain I faced while I was still in Moonfall pack. The constant mind games and manipulations. Constantly treating me like a personal pet.

“I know Darius is different, but sometimes he can really push my buttons.” I thought to myself as I saw the smug on his face. He had a cheeky smile which infuriated me more. I didn’t even realize when raven was trying to signal me to greet him. At that moment, I wish I could wipe that smirk off his face. But, I know that was the end of me. I regained my composure and greeted him respectfully.

Before he left, he had a puzzled look on his face, like he had no idea what he was saying to me. Suddenly, I felt a tap on my back.

“What happened, did something occur between the two of you?” Raven had a befuddled look on her face. I didn’t have the words to express what I felt in my heart. I could only nod my head in denial. Raven could tell there were some things left unsaid but decided to let them sly. Before we departed, she left some words of advice for me.

"Whatever it is, I’m sure you both can work it out. He’s not as insensitive as you may think. This can be cleared up with a simple conversation,” she said in a soft tone before heading out.

“A simple conversation…” I scuffed quietly. There is nothing so simple about Darius, but I decided to take her advice.

I was already tired from the drilling earlier, so I rushed off to my room. I took a shower and a quick nap.

The gorgeous white wolf appeared in my dream again. Her fur looked whiter than the last time. I walked again in the forest. Though, this time I wasn’t panicking or afraid. I felt at home, like I was meant to be here. The grass felt so soft and smooth. No scars from thorns. I adjusted my sitting position to face her properly.

“Oh Great White Wolf, is there something you want to tell me?” I asked her nervously. She stared deeply, like she wanted to tell me something important. She approached me slowly till she reached my space.

This time I felt more comfortable and joined my forehead with hers. She playfully grazed her fur across my face. It had a sweet scent of lavender which was calming. She whispered quietly in my ear “chosen’, then ran away.

“Please tell me more, don’t leave!” I yelled out, but she was already long gone. I stretched my hands towards her, but I couldn’t see her anymore. She vanished back into the forest, leaving me with the word ‘chosen.’

Just as I was about to stand up to chase her, I woke up in a sitting position on my bed. I was drenched in sweat through all that I wore. I took a deep sigh and sluggishly undressed and took another shower.

I wore a flower dress which was free around my knees. It had only straps without sleeves. I decided to wear a white one, still remembering the white wolf I saw in my dream.

I came out heading to Darius’s chambers when I saw him walking slowly along the corridors while other she-wolves looked at him with their eyes filled with desire and passion. He seemed to be enjoying all the attention as he took his time to take each step. I quietly huffed while he strode a proud peacock. I decided to stand behind as he went to the throne room.

The she-wolves immediately snapped back as soon as they sighted me. They rushed in the opposite direction, away from me, filled with guilt. I stood in the corner to wait for him to return.

After several minutes, he walked back to his chambers with a mysterious white envelope in his hands. I had a gut feeling that this envelope was connected to me. “What's in the envelope?” I thought to myself. I quickly regained my composure as to why I was waiting for him. I stood in the corner so as not to look desperate, waiting in front of his door.

When he finally reached his door, I tiptoed behind him and whispered. “So this is your way to get back at me, right?”

He turned back slowly like he was expecting me. Within seconds, he pinned me to the door with my hands held firmly by him. He had a smug smile, and gazed at me intently.

“I thought you were upset with me. 'Why are you lurking in the shadows like a possessive wolf?’ I tried to squeeze out of the hold, but he was inches away from me. I couldn’t even breathe.

“I’m not possessive. "I came out to talk with you, but I saw you enjoying the attention of the other female wolves,” I pouted. He had a mischievous smile on his face as he held me even more firmly.

“Why did it bother you that the other ladies were looking at me?” he said in a husky voice which made him even more irresistible. I was fighting not to surrender myself to him, but this time, I could feel my body taking over.

“Because I don’t want to be just your breeder, but your mate,” I snapped. I could no longer hold it in my heart anymore. He only responded with a broad smile and brought his face close to mine. Just as I closed my eyes and tilted my lips towards his, we were sadly interrupted.

“Forgive me Alpha, but we have an unexpected visitor… Alpha Damon of Moonfall pack.”
