Hey guys!! <3 Thank you so much for your patience, I really appreciate it. I am still working through some things. But I am going to do my best to get a post out like normal. :) It might be a little late, but I'll get it out. <3
I was running on fumes. Between watching the kids, trying to get everything ready for when Finn and Noah came with Leah and Haley, I was running myself into the ground. Still, it needed to be done. Today was probably the biggest day, and maybe after that, I could rest a little.Right now though, I was waiting for the delivery truck on the far east side of the territory. There was enough space for me to drive the ATV from that point all the way into the pack house without too much deviation. I’d purchased three ATVs and two carts that could hold up to 1200 pounds. Luckily, none of the appliances that I ordered weight that much. I’d have space for two more appliances, and it would still be within the weight limit.Yesterday, the kids and I cleared any serious debris that would jostle the cart around too much when trying to get it delivered to the house. I’d also caught two of Solaris’ warriors from the first prince’s army hanging around town. Apparently, the word got around after the ba
I chatted with Lor a bit as I walked, keeping an eye on the kids. She had some ideas, but nothing concrete. She said she wanted to come onto the territory, but she had a few more things to wrap up. Apparently, Noah and Finn needed her the following week, and then she would drive up to where we were. What I did find out was that Lor helped Solaris with the pack house. The documents mentioned it, but I didn’t know for how long or how much magic was used to keep the place from falling apart after years of being left alone. According to her, the house and a few other structures around it were in a stasis-like state. Trapped in time from the day Lor cast it.It was a contraption set up in the living room, and would deactivate as soon as it was touched. However, the packhouse was invisible to the human eye. She had also shielded the place from being able to be entered. That had been my thought originally to keep humans out of the territory, but there were limitations to that kind of magic.
*** Nate’s POV *** Leaving the kids with Maggie for the weekend, I flew back to Santorini for a few days. All I did was pack up everything. Fey and Nessa came over, helping me as well. The two of them were heartbroken that I decided to move away from the island. Still, they understood. Both for my kids and for me. The opportunity wasn’t something I could pass up.Finn had reached out to a storage place near the pack territory, and they were willing to receive all our packages, as long as nothing needed to be paid for. It took so much more effort moving with a bunch of stuff. I left much of the furniture and larger items in the house. For now, it could serve as a vacation getaway, but I didn’t feel comfortable being here with the kids until we announced the new pack officially. After packing, wrapping, or selling everything, I said goodbye to the pack. Some of them I knew, more than just Nessa and Fey, since I had been working as Beta. A few of them even asked if I would allow them in
I stood, trying to remember the entire article or news flash or letter we had received. It was weeks ago, but it had nagged at the back of my mind. The timing had been too perfect, but I could never put it together. At least, not until now.“No…no, no, no…”Walking past Sam and Charles, I opened my door. By the time I hit the stairs, I was running. Charles and Sam were both behind me as I threw open the door to my office. Going to my desk, I flipped through papers and threw a bunch of them on the floor as I searched.“Silas, what…?”“What are you looking for?” Sam came over to my desk. “You aren’t going to find it in this mess.”My eyes combed through page by page. “There was…a memo? From the Alpha King to all the Alphas. Fucking bullshit newsletter.”Sam grabbed some papers. “Most of these were within the past week. How long ago?”“Um…five weeks, six weeks? I dunno. A while ago.”He put the paper back on my desk and pulled out a cabinet drawer behind the couch. I pulled out the drawe
“So, the witch removed the magic? Was that Noah’s punishment for you? How did he even know?” Sam asked more questions that I didn’t really want to answer.I leaned my head back, using the hands on my shoulder to anchor me. “Nate might have told them. I had also spoken to Noah a long time ago about magic. They might have put two and two together. They didn’t know exactly what it was, more of a general plan. Lor, the witch, probably knew the moment she touched me I had a seal.” Sighing, I looked up at Sam. “Noah said that my punishment was that I had to live with the fact that I’d never stand next to my mate again. That I would never have the joy of seeing my pups grow up. That I would have to keep moving forward without him…feeling everything.”Sam started pacing again. “So…now your bond is unlocked? You can feel everything? Feel the pull and just…everything that was missing before?&r
Sam covered his mouth with both his hands. His sobs echoed in the room as he shook his head. I let my head fall, squeezing my eyes shut. Not that I ever deserved to, but I couldn’t face Nate again. Not after this.“But…you saved him…”I looked over at Sam. Tears were streaming down his face, but his eyes were on me. The look of hope in his eyes made me feel sick. Shaking my head, I could barely keep eye contact with him.“I put him there…I destroyed him…I…”“You also saved him, Silas.” Sam frowned, and he looked almost angry at himself. “Yes, you fucked up. But after all you’ve told us, your intention was always to keep Nate as your Beta. It was never killing him or removing him. All you wanted was for things to go back the way they were.”Nodding, I leaned my head against my arm. “I really didn’t. I pushed him away at every step.”
