*** Silas’ POV ***

I stood in the doorway watching as Charles put Nate’s duffle in his Jeep. Sam was standing next to the driver’s side door, arms crossed. Nate was talking to him, trying to calm him down after he worked himself up again. He was still upset, not so much that he was leaving alone, just that Nate wouldn’t fight me on it.

It was odd all around. It had been for a while now. He just stopped; stopped talking, stopped fighting, and stopped even providing his opinion. It was unsettling to the point where I tried to push him more. Nate refused to be pushed, sighting he was just too tired.

The other day in the gym was the first time I’d ever felt an Alpha presence from him. I knew his dad’s father was an Alpha. His grandfather married a Beta she-wolf. Nate’s father was right in the middle of their eight kids. He ended up having stronger Beta blood, and that extended down to Nate. It was the first time I felt Nate dip into more than just his Beta side.

We’d yelled and fought a l

Funny enough, this is the first time I've caught up with myself!! I was sick for a week and was completely useless. Haha. But I'm better now and I'm catching up with my editing and working on filling more holes that have been left until the very last. I just wanted to pop in and say thank you so much for the support! I do read the comments and I thank you guys so much. I know this isn't my more popular story and it's a chunky on at that. I appreciative all over you. <3 We are coming into a BIG part. Hehe. I'm excited for everyone to read it. Thank you all. (Check out my Sub Stack for Nate's character profile!! Silas to come...eventually. Lol.)

  • The Rogue Kings II   Chapter 84

*** Sam’s POV ***I was nervous. It made little sense for me to be nervous. It was just dinner with Nate. We had decided on Friday night at a restaurant a block down from the hotel. Smoothing out my shirt, I looked in the hotel’s full-length mirror behind the door. Was this too much? Too little?“Sweetheart, relax.” Looking over my shoulder, Charles was buttoning his cuffs. “It’s just Nate.”“I know…I just…”It was silly. I knew that already. Turning back to the mirror, my light blue button-up shirt had a slight shimmer to it since it was silk. I’d chosen tan pants to go with the top and some brown shoes. Sighing, I ran my hand through my hair again before turning back to my mate.He was wearing a darker blue shirt with black slacks. I felt less like a sore thumb because he was equally dressed up. The restaurant w

  • The Rogue Kings II   Chapter 83

I walked into the hotel we were all staying at for the Alpha Conference. Around us, there were Alphas, Betas and the occasional Gamma talking amongst each other. The hotel this time around was far fancier than the one we had previously. It was the one time every Alpha showed up in one place, no matter where they were from. Otherwise, the Alpha King would send out his own knights to “check-up” on your pack.It was boring, stupid, but it set the stage for the coming years on what we were focusing on as a race. There was also a chance to network and allies would have separate meetings over the coming years as well. Since it was hard for us to be together like this. Every year was too much, and five seemed like a good chunk of time to go over.I left Dean, Ida, and Wyatt in charge of the pack. Sam had been right for my sanity. I didn’t want to be stuck with one of them. There was no way I was going to this thing alone, either. They could go off together a

When I walked in, Elder Calum and Elder Herman were bickering like a bunch of old maids. I sat down at the end of the table and rubbed my eyes. They always called meetings too early in the morning. I’m pretty sure it was because I couldn’t start drinking if I had to get my ass out of bed at the crack of dawn and come straight over. Which was a pain on its own.Elder Marshall, Elder Tomas, and Elder Edith all acknowledged me, but were listening intently to their fellows bicker. I cleared my throat, loud enough to almost sound like a growl. It stopped the two of them mid-sentence and I raised my eyebrow.“If you want to continue, that’s fine, but I will leave.”“Sorry, Alpha. We are dealing with some contacts with the Council of Elders. They are being obstinate.” Elder Calum frowned. “We have different ideas on how to deal with them.”I covered my mouth through my yawn. “I don’t need to know

*** Silas POV ***Sitting on the back porch, I looked out into the forest behind us. I had a drink in my hand as my elbow rested on the wood arm of the outdoor lounge chair. Taking a sip, my lip curled up for a moment before it burned down my throat and sat warm in my stomach. My head was already feeling lighter as the sky boasted colors of pink, purple, orange, and yellow.Today had been hectic. Originally, we started rebuilding the school, thinking that we would have it done through the summer months and maybe into the school year for a couple of months. Nothing terrible and we could have the kids work around the construction.Three whole years it took to finally cut the ribbon. We’d run into every single kind of issue imaginable. Foundation was crumbling, plumbing wasn’t up to code and some roots from trees nowhere near the school had filled the pipes. There was an issue with

  • The Rogue Kings II   Chapter 80

    * Three Years Later *“Dad!”I cracked my eye open just before I got pounced. Landon jumped on my stomach and I groaned, curling up. Flipping over, I caged my little troublemaker under me and tickled him. He, of course, screamed for his sister, who was already in the room. I got pounced on by a little pup and tickled in the same spots.Grabbing for Amelia made an opening for Landon to slip out and he ran, grabbing his sister. The two of them raced out of my room and I laughed, shaking my head. Sliding out of bed, I rubbed my eyes and pulled my hair back into a ponytail. It was seven in the morning and I really wish that they gave me another hour.“Dad! Can we have Stra-pa-pa-?”I stepped into the hallway to see the doors of the refrigerator open. “Strapatsada?”“Yeah! That! The egg thing.”Chuckling, I walked over and pulled out some orang

  • The Rogue Kings II   Chapter 79 - Aelia's Letter #3

My Dear Short Stack of a Mate,I gave a bunch of information last letter. I’m sorry if that was overloading. It just…seems useful for someone who actually has a golden bond to know more about it. It’s useless for me now. I’ve told Finn and Noah about some of it as well. The two of them…well…they aren’t exactly the studious type.I guess in this one, I should tell you something. A confession. I did something for you. Something…crazy. I didn’t really mean it. It just kind of fell into my lap. While I worked on getting everything set up for everyone. I don’t want to give it to you just yet, though. I don’t think enough time has passed. Still. If it all goes tits up, just know I have you. Specifically, you in mind. I know the boys probably will help if anything happens, but this w
