~Ivy's POV~

I didn't have to think it through. Not after all I heard from Calyxia.

“Yes. I agree,” I said weakly.

I didn't know him, but I couldn't care less. He wanted to save me and that was all that mattered.

And as for Calyxia and Nyro?

I'd make them pay.

Even if it was the last thing I did.

“Okay,” Skarr said. “Pack your things. Get him to sign a divorce and call me. I'll have my men on standby.”

The call ended.

The problem now was how to get a divorce. Nyro would rather kill me than let me go.

The door to the dungeon opened and a guard barged in and grabbed me by my arm.

“Where are you taking me?” I demanded.

“Alpha Nyro calls for you.”

We reached Nyro's office. He was there with Calyxia.

“Kneel and beg her.” These were the first words Nyro said to me.

“Over. My. Dead. Body.” I spat out.

Calyxia stroked Nyro's chin. “Don't worry babe. I've forgiven her already. I just want everyone to be happy.”

“Are you sure?” Nyro asked her.

She nodded sweetly.

Nyro turned back to me. “You see the difference between you both, she's so kind and you're a jealous, bitter soul.”

I chuckled humorlessly.

“Anyway,” Nyro continued. “We're hosting a birthday party for Calyxia here at a five-star restaurant tonight. Everyone will be there, so you have to come.”

“Okay.” I nodded.

What was the point of arguing?

“First time you're being so agreeable.” Nyro smiled, pleased. “Keep this up and you won't be carrying a black eye all the time.”

I cursed him under my breath as I walked out of his office.

I was about to leave when I heard him and Calyxia giggle.

I stopped abruptly by the door.

“She doesn't know what's coming for her.” Calyxia chuckled.

“This is going to be the best thing ever. We'll end it once and for all, painting her the villain.” Nyro chimed in.

“She won't see it coming.”

I walked out of there and into my room.

I packed all my things slowly into my box, crying.

This time, the tears came with relief because I was finally leaving.

I was almost done packing, leaving the jar containing my twins' cremated bodies, when I saw someone slip a big envelope under my room door.

I opened the door and saw no one in the hallway.

When I opened the envelope, it was a mating termination/divorce alongside a letter that read: “Get him to sign it however you can.”

It must be my saviour.

I paced around the room wondering how I'll get Nyro to sign until an idea popped into my head.

I picked up the divorce and some other paperwork and went to Nyro's office.

He looked so irritated when he saw me. “What do you want?”

He was alone in his office, which was better.

I dropped the papers on his desk, the divorce tucked in and hidden.

“These are some documents from the mall, I want to get some dresses for Calyxia's birthday. They need your signature.” It was a stupid lie, but I knew Nyro was too busy to care.

He signed them without looking. “Anything else?”

I smiled to myself. “No.”

“Good. Get out.”

I will. From your life… for good.

As I walked back to my room, I heard a loud crash.

I opened my door and saw Calyxia beside the jar of my twin's cremated bodies.

The papers fell from my hands as my mouth hung open.

“Oops,” Calyxia smirked. “Slippery hands.”

Blindly, I advanced to Calyxia and slapped her twice.

“You're so evil!” I screamed as tears rolled down my cheeks.

The ashes were the last reminder of my pups and she's taking that away too.

I kept beating her and she was screaming until the door to my room opened.

Nyro was holding a wooden plank and he hit me on the head with it.

I blacked out.

-

I slowly regained consciousness.

“She's pregnant?” I heard a soft gasp.

I closed my eyes, pretending to still be unconscious.

I could hear Calyxia's voice, alongside an older woman, the shaman.

“That would explain the fainting spells.” Calyxia sounded troubled. “We need to get the baby out, now. I can't have her pregnant with Nyro’s child at the same time as me.”

Wait…

Was I pregnant?

“I'll give her a potion that will abort the pregnancy.” The Shaman said.

“Good!” Calyxia responded. “And make sure Nyro doesn't find out about this.”

“I will.”

Were they trying to take away my baby?

I got up and made a beeline for the door but I was too weak.

Before I could escape, they caught up with me and bundled me back to the bed.

“Sleep tight, bitch!” Calyxia said as she elbowed my head.

I passed out.

-

When I woke up, I was in my room, alone.

I felt pain everywhere. I knew Calyxia and the Shaman had aborted my baby.

With tears in my eyes, I packed all my things plus the signed divorce papers and called Scarr's number.

He picked up on the first ring. “Hello, Ivy?”

I could never get over how powerful his voice sounded. “I'm ready.”

“Where's the location?” He asked.

“I'll be at Golden Tulip Restaurants. I have something to give someone there.” I said, a smirk playing around my lips.

“I'll be there.”

The call ended.

I hailed a taxicab and went to the Golden Tulip Restaurant. Business was closed for the day. I suppose it was courtesy of Nyro.

The party had not started yet.

As I walked in, a waitress walked up to me.

“Sorry ma'am,” she smiled politely. “Business is closed for the day. We're expecting VIP guests.”

“Mr Nyro Grimvale, right?” I said.

She looked surprised. “Yes ma'am. How do you know?”

I smiled coldly. “I used to be his wife.”

She looked confused.

I brought out the divorce papers and a letter I wrote for him and handed them over to the waitress. “Tell him that when you see him.”

“Okay, ma'am.” She responded, but I was already out the door.

On my way to freedom.

I stopped by the parking lot to see a conspicuous Lamborghini. This must be for Skarr…

I walked up to the car, my boxes in hand.

As I approached the vehicle, I knocked on the glass and it was rolled down.

I didn't need to ask who it was.

My mouth fell open at who I saw before me.

My boxes clattered to the ground. “How could this be?”

I asked myself, but somehow, I knew the truth.

~Ivy's POV~The music from the ball wafted through my windows, a soft jazz melody. A contrast to my tumultuous life.I'd worn the dress, but no makeup and no smile. I walked out of my room. My legs were wobbly because I wasn't used to wearing heels.I met Nyro already waiting by the door of our home, Calyxia in his arms. She looked stunning. She wore a shiny red dress to match her lips, gold jewellery glittering around her neck, her skin pristine, porcelain… but no makeup could hide the evil beneath her eyes.“You look absolutely gorgeous, Ivy.” She smirked, her eyes glistening mischievously. Nyro barely looked at me. “Come on, let's go. We'll be late,” he snapped, irritated. We arrived at the ball, and the hall was packed with Elite werewolves.I had to walk in with Nyro, and I could tell that this displeased Calyxia. She had been sulking all through the ride. She clearly didn't want me here, but quite frankly, I didn't want me here either. We took the ceremonial bow as Alpha and L

You're not a child.”Child…“She's pregnant, Nyro?” I asked, my voice laced with bitterness. “Calyxia is pregnant with your child?”Calyxia smiled, sa
