FAZER LOGIN~Ivy's POV~
The door to Nyro's room flung open and he walked out, his stride sharp and defined. Calyxia walked out after him wearing nothing but chemise nightwear.
Nyro looked from my ashen expression to the shards of glass scattered across the floor.
My expression must have told him before he asked—I'd overheard them.
What I didn't expect was the sting of a slap across my cheeks that sent me jolting backwards. I slipped on the spilled water and landed on the ground with a loud thud.
The snap of a bone sent pain jolting up my ankle.
“You bitch!” Nyro spat. “Eavesdropping on our conversation like a common harlot.”
Harlot?
What irony… The only harlot here was Calyxia.
My hands grazed my cheeks, which I was sure were red and swollen now.
“Ivy, come on now,” Calyxia said slyly. “You should know better than to listen in on our conversation. You're not a child.”
Child…
“She's pregnant, Nyro?” I asked, my voice laced with bitterness. “Calyxia is pregnant with your child?”
Calyxia smiled, satisfied that I'd heard them.
“No, she's not.” Nyro lied, his eyes darting back and forth. “I mean she is, but it's not my child.”
Oh, he must take me for a fool!
All these years, he cheated on me thinking I was oblivious and now, he was lying to my face. He killed my twins because he knew that Calyxia was pregnant with his child.
I laughed bitterly, facing Calyxia. “So, who then are you pregnant for?”
“Excuse you?” She eyed me vilely.
“You have neither a mate nor a boyfriend so who is responsible for that bastard you are carrying in your womb?”
The second slap nearly blinded me. My eyes watered instantly, blurring my vision.
“Watch your mouth, woman!” Nyro's voice echoed through the hallway.
I painstakingly got up from the floor, ignoring the intense pain. “Your reaction has told me all I need to know.”
The last sight I saw before I walked back to my room was the glee in Calyxia's eyes, and the fury in Nyro's.
This was the same thing she did in my father's house, pretending to be the white lotus figure all while being a snake that controlled men against me.
I despised them both.
I was almost asleep when the door to my room flung open.
It was Nyro.
In his right hand was a tray of food and in his left a shopping bag.
He walked up to my bed and wiped away my already dried tears.
I shrank away from his embrace.
What once felt like solace was now torture—being in his arms.
“Come on, Ivy.” He whispered in my ear. “You know I hate to see you cry.”
“Really?” I uttered coldly.
“Yes, you're still my mate you know, regardless of whatever is happening.” He placed the tray on my lap. “I asked the chef to specially prepare this for you. Your favourites.”
I stared at the tray in disgust. Pasta and Lobster, Seafood boil, sardines…
All the things I was allergic to.
“I need to ask a favor from you.” He said, finally.
I kept quiet.
“Tonight is a full moon. The council and other pack leaders are coming here to the Blackfyre pack. It's our turn to host them. You have to come.”
“Nyro?”
“Hm?”
“I'm allergic to seafood.”
“Oh,” he colored crimson. “I thought you said they were your favorites. I must have forgotten.”
I chuckled humorlessly.
“So that's a yes?” He asked, enthusiastically mistaking my laughter for genuine glee.
“That's a no.”
I watched the laughter fade from his face instantly. He loved it when I was agreeable, submissive and when I wasn't… he turned to a beast.
“Why?”
“I lost my children, Nyro.” I tried in vain to keep my voice level. “Let me mourn.”
“And have the guests say what?” He thundered. “That we're fighting? Divided? Not at peace?”
“It's the truth, isn't it?”
Another slap.
The third time today.
Only now it was accompanied by his hand on my throat.
I gasped for air.
“You will be there, you hear me, Ivy?” He tightened his grip. “You will wear a pretty dress, and lipstick. You will smile at our guests!”
I was suffocating. I nodded rapidly. “Yes. Yes. I'll wear lipstick.”
Another slap. A shove.
And I was released.
My head slammed into the wood at the head of the bed.
He walked away, throwing the dress on my bed.
I noticed the trickle of blood flowing from a gash on my head…
Tears flowed from my eyes.
Nyro never used to be like this.
He loved me once. A long time ago when we were children.
One day, when I was eleven, my father took me to the Blackfyre pack for a ball. He was an elder in our pack, Frostmere.
Then, as the night advanced, I saw this dashingly handsome boy. He was tall with curly black hair. He looked like he was crafted by one of the gods.
He was staring. At me.
At me?
His eyes never left mine the entire time.
The night was almost ending when he finally summoned the courage to approach me.
He told me I was beautiful.
We spoke, we laughed, we told stories to each other.
He took me round the castle, the rose garden, and the water fountain. We kissed there. My first kiss.
It was almost time to leave when he held my hand. There, under the full moon, we made a promise to each other.
Even though I wasn't an Alpha's daughter but a mere omega, he promised me that if we both clocked nineteen and yet, didn't find our mate, we'd be together.
And I was whisked away, by my father. He'd overheard us, he scolded me. “Only daughters of nobles get mated to Alpha's.”
Father told me I'll never see him again, and that was when I realized I hadn't even gotten his name.
So after Calyxia married my father, I ran to the Blackfyre pack to see my long-lost lover.
There, I was told he had an accident. He had lost all his memory… to amnesia.
But I never lost hope, so I remained in Blackfyre. Until one day, he told me that he remembered everything. We kissed.
He made me sign a mating contract.
And that was the beginning of my nightmare.
With a bitter laugh, I ran warm water over the gash on my head.
I brought out the dress Nyro had thrown on the bed. It was yellow.
I hated yellow.
But I had no choice but to wear it. I wondered what tonight held for me.
~Ivy's POV~I stared at him as he walked in. His stride was fluid, like a cat’s. His jawline was clean-cut, and his torso was left exposed as he was shirtless. They were ripped, taut, scattered with jagged scars that looked like tattoos. One scar slashed across his eyebrows, splitting it into two.Could it be why his name was Skarr? Was it a nickname?More importantly, why was he a spitting image of Nyro?“You look uncomfortable.” he said as he took a seat on the sofa. His eyes pierced through mine. “Why?”“I'm not uncomfortable.” I lied smoothly.I was uncomfortable, not because of this massive penthouse or the expensive luxury cars everywhere. No. I was uncomfortable because this man had the face of Nyro.“Where did you go?” I asked him, eager to distract him from pressing further.“I needed to make a very necessary call.” He said, his eyes glinting. “You want to ask me something, Ivy. I can sense it.”Of course, I had a lot of questions to ask him. Why was my wolf, Echo, going craz
~Third person POV~The sunlight drifting from the window woke Nyro up the next morning. Calyxia was still fast asleep beside him on the bed.He groaned tiredly, wondering why Ivy hadn't woken him up earlier. He put on his slippers and went to the dining table for a quick breakfast before work. To his greatest shock, there was nothing served. The table and cutlery sat bare and the house felt empty. Nyro almost tumbled on the broken figurine on the marble, he must have bumped into it on his way home last night.Everywhere was untidy and unkempt, paper bags, liquor bottles, and cartons of sushi and Chinese takeout littered the sofa. This was odd.And he was going to make Ivy pay for this.“Ivy!” He thundered. “Ivy!”He waited for her to answer, to come running at his command, but he was met with silence. There was no response. Was she still sulking? How pathetic was she really? Last night was Calyxia's birthday and the event was at Golden Tulip Restaurant. It was a blast, he'd had a lo
~Ivy's POV~I didn't have to think it through. Not after all I heard from Calyxia.“Yes. I agree,” I said weakly.I didn't know him, but I couldn't care less. He wanted to save me and that was all that mattered. And as for Calyxia and Nyro?I'd make them pay.Even if it was the last thing I did.“Okay,” Skarr said. “Pack your things. Get him to sign a divorce and call me. I'll have my men on standby.”The call ended. The problem now was how to get a divorce. Nyro would rather kill me than let me go.The door to the dungeon opened and a guard barged in and grabbed me by my arm.“Where are you taking me?” I demanded.“Alpha Nyro calls for you.” We reached Nyro's office. He was there with Calyxia.“Kneel and beg her.” These were the first words Nyro said to me.“Over. My. Dead. Body.” I spat out.Calyxia stroked Nyro's chin. “Don't worry babe. I've forgiven her already. I just want everyone to be happy.”“Are you sure?” Nyro asked her.She nodded sweetly.Nyro turned back to me. “You se
~Ivy's POV~The music from the ball wafted through my windows, a soft jazz melody. A contrast to my tumultuous life.I'd worn the dress, but no makeup and no smile. I walked out of my room. My legs were wobbly because I wasn't used to wearing heels.I met Nyro already waiting by the door of our home, Calyxia in his arms. She looked stunning. She wore a shiny red dress to match her lips, gold jewellery glittering around her neck, her skin pristine, porcelain… but no makeup could hide the evil beneath her eyes.“You look absolutely gorgeous, Ivy.” She smirked, her eyes glistening mischievously. Nyro barely looked at me. “Come on, let's go. We'll be late,” he snapped, irritated. We arrived at the ball, and the hall was packed with Elite werewolves.I had to walk in with Nyro, and I could tell that this displeased Calyxia. She had been sulking all through the ride. She clearly didn't want me here, but quite frankly, I didn't want me here either. We took the ceremonial bow as Alpha and L

~Ivy's POV~I found out my mate was cheating on me with my stepmother the day he sacrificed my twin daughters to save her.We had a rogue attack and I was knocked unconscious by one of the warrior rogues. When I came to, the first sight I saw was the corpse of my twin pups lying at my feet while my mate caressed his mistress.Calyxia.My ears rang as I shook in disbelief. My pups were covered in a pool of blood. It was so gruesome that I bent my head and threw up, green bile rising in my throat.Calyxia walked up to me, and a smirk played across her lips. “Oh, poor thing, I'm so sorry for your loss.”I stared at my mate, Nyro. He looked unbothered to say the least. “Oh, don't be so dramatic, Ivy,” he rolled his eyes, nonchalantly. “They're just pups. You’ll get another one soon.”I thought I'd die, cry, shout, gouge my eyes out till there was nothing left in me, but I didn't. I couldn't.My voice caught in my throat and my breath hitched. My hands trembled, but still, no words came ou
