Chapter Thirty-One

Jordan POV

We followed the tyre tracks to the end of the dirt road. It led us through winding back trails through the surrounding bushland no pack had claimed. We shifted back when we reached the end of the road, unsure where to go from here as the trail had ended. It was dark out now; the sun had set about an hour ago.

“So where now?” Vanessa asks, looking to me for leadership.

“The tracks end here so they can’t be far… right?” Lani asks.

I bend down and touch the last visible track before looking around. There was nothing but bushland here. The tracks stopped in front of some rocks so the cars couldn’t have gone any further and yet they weren’t here. I stand up and walk over to the rocks on the grass, they looked slightly out of place here as there weren’t many rocks in this area, it was mostly trees and shrubs. I notice Lani walk over to a nearby tree out of the corner of my eye. S
