Chapter Thirty-Six
Cassidy POV
I packed my clothes into the empty dresser before showering. The feeling of hot water running across my body felt amazing. The scent of pomegranate blending in with the harsh stench of wolfsbane and fuel that hung in the air. I stared at my body as I lathered the soap, noticing indents in my skin where I hadn’t finished healing. My own body felt foreign. Having only washed my arms, I sit on the floor of the shower. Not yet willing to bring the washcloth between my legs. It still hurt. I needed to be clean of him but I couldn’t bring myself to touch where he had been. He had been all over me and my body belonged to him. I put my face between my legs and began to cry.
“It’s still our body,” Nina said.
“It’s not mine,” I snapped back at her and I felt her retreat.

My eyes flash open. It’s dark. I can barely make out more than five metres in front of me. I stand, feeling the cool air wash over me, a nice light breeze blowing through the trees. It’s quiet. The only sounds I hear are my heart beating rapidly in my chest and the trees rustling in the wind. I don’t even hear any animals. Strange. I must be deep in the woods.
