“You said that she had a few other issues,” Benton stated as he was trying to process everything that the doctor had just told him. He was not facing the men and looking at him. There was something that most people didn't even get when it came to talking to him. Benton had a reputation of not seemingly caring about most people. One of the richest men in the world, and then it almost seemed like he had no interpersonal skills. Most people just felt happy to be in the same room as him, as if either his money or his intellect would be the thing that would make them rise up like a phoenix. He hated that more than anything.
“She has massive brain bleeding. Whatever happened to her, she hit her head quite a few times. There's no actual telling until she wakes up what the damage was.” The doctor said as he leveled a stare at Benton.
“What is the cause of her injuries?” Benton asked as he looked at the girl. He was not curious because there was nothing by her body that he saw that could have caused injuries to her head. There was nothing by her body that could have caused any of her injuries. This is becoming more of a mystery than he wanted to deal with truly. Though he felt no remorse and ordering a guard to be placed here because he didn't understand the concept of why she was even remotely close to the main part of the base.
This was becoming more concerning for him. It wasn't the fact that she was there. It was how injured she was. Now that he saw her in a gown, he could see the damage that had been done to her body. It wasn't a normal place to be as they were in the middle of a mountain range. It was rather secluded, and there were no towns within about 15 miles. And that was on the coast. He didn't think that she looked like one of the young women from the village that the coast had. Nothing was making any sense at the moment, and he knew that he needed to take a step back. Where could she have come from? What was she doing in the middle of nowhere if not to be there to scout out the base?
“To that, we're not exactly sure. We're hoping that when she wakes up, she'll be able to tell us what happened, but at the moment, I don't think with her brain scans being what they are that she will have full function of either her memory or her ability to talk.” The doctor said as he looked at Benton and then looked back to the girl. The man was clearly concerned with the fact that she had so many bruises and the brain bleed that was slowly putting pressure on her head. It was plain to see that the man thought that she was going to have a lot more issues after she woke up than she did at the moment. Benton knew that he had to just clarify a few things before he really made his decision on what to do with her.
“Just so I completely understand what you're saying so we can figure out what her next course of treatment is. You believe that she might suffer some kind of brain damage or possibly amnesia?” Benton asked as he thought he was reaching right now. He did do medical work but not like this. He was trying to understand the most basic concepts right now. They could adjust everything later.
“Yes, Sir, period, to be perfectly honest, amnesia would probably be the best possible outcome of this situation. If she has any type of brain damage, there's no telling if she would be able to even access her memories or be able to tell us what happened.” the doctor said as he looked at the girl and sighed. “The fact is, Sir that we're not exactly sure what's going to happen when she wakes up. I know for right now. We plan on keeping her sedated for another day or so. When she wakes up, I will have somebody inform you so you can come and see for yourself.”
Benton was not exactly thrilled with the news that he had just received, but once again, he had more questions and answers. He knew he needed to get back to the lab and work on the quantum infuser that he had poured himself into for the past few years period. They were extremely close to getting it to work absolutely correctly. They had had a lot of success within the past year, but the fluctuations have been off by a millimeter fraction, and he had not been able to understand or process the reasons why. Over the past few years, they had managed to get everything correctly, at least by the math, but nothing seemed to completely work the way that it should. Something was missing. Right now, he needed to focus on finding out what that one thing was so they could get it to work and then distribute it throughout the world. It wasn't something that he was doing to make even more profit even though he would be a very rich man, more so than he already was. This was a scientific discovery that would change the way that medicine and even energy were produced. It was going to be a lifechanger for many different places, and it would be something that would benefit humankind. That's at least what he kept telling himself. It was something that his father had worked for and what his grandfather had instilled since the beginning of the family dynasty. They had to finish this one thing. Benton had known his entire life that he was going to have to deal with that was a part of this. He wasn't going to be able to have a normal life until it was finished. He was not going to let the intruder, even if she was a female, be a distraction from what he really needed to do.
Benton also realized that the female that was going to reside in the medical Bay was nothing more than just a distraction to him. He knew that he needed to focus on what was the most important. He had to wonder why the only thing that he could honestly see in his mind was her laying in the bed. Even when he tried to shake those particular memories away, that's all he could see.
Though she couldn't open her eyes, she knew that she was laying in a bed. She didn't know she knew that or what even a bed really was. She couldn't remember everything that was going on around her period. She remembered being outside. That's when she started to really think and almost began to panic internally. She had no idea who she was. She had no idea where she was. Everything that was running her was foreign, and she had no idea what it was there for in the first place. There was a lot going on around her, and she could hear various people in the background, but she still couldn't open her eyes just yet. The people that were there didn't seem to notice that she was any different, so she just laid there perfectly still. There was a sense of panic that was pumping through every one of her veins. Being where she was, she had to think that she was safe even though she really didn't know anything that was going on around
Despite the amount of medication the doctors had been pumping her full of, she managed to start to wake up without them even realizing it. When a nurse came into the room that she had been placed in, even though it was highly monitored with the guards and even the doctors and staff of the Medical Center. She was slightly surprised to see the girl there with her eyes completely wide open. “Where am I?” the girl managed to ask, and she looked at the nurse, who was about ready to drop the tray of medications. She was clearly surprised and even shocked to the point that she was embarrassed. “You need to hold on one moment. I need to get one of the doctors in here. You should not be awake right now.” center sign she placed the tray down and then quickly ran out of the room, and then there was another high pitch sound that echoed through the area. She didn't know what the noise was. There was nothing there before
“Mr. Danielson, Sir, I explained to you that she might not be able to truly communicate anything right off the bat when she did wake up. It seems that my suspicions were confirmed. I believe that she has amnesia from whatever hit her head. Those bruising and the swelling in her brain had gone down enough to not be life threatening anymore. It is still a huge issue. As of right now, I don't believe that she can remember anything. She doesn't know her own name at the moment.” the doctor said as he looked at the man who is just staring at her. “Are there any tests that we can run to make sure that she's telling the truth? How do we honestly know that she can't remember anything? she could easily be here to sabotage something.” Benton said as he looked at her knowing that there was nothing in her eyes that showed any recognition of him or the facility. He was staring at her, and though he didn't wanna seem cold and calculating right now, he was too
Unfortunately for Benton, his housing compound and mountain base were being used by his sister and her friends, who were trying to get his attention. He was also dealing with the fact that he was so close even though he know he needed to take a break. He wasn't interested in anyone that his sister was going to bring over, and somehow she managed to convince him to allow her to throw a few dinner parties. At least while she was there. Then he had the mysterious stranger who was in the medical Bay who still was under watch, knowing that she could possibly be somebody there to infiltrate the lab. However, she still had not shown any sign that she was trying to do anything. She was either the most patient person on the planet, or she was somebody who had suffered a tragic accident. The trace analysis, was coming back later today, and he was going down to the lab to see what the results were, and this was the one time i
He walked into the main dining hall that had been decked out with fresh flowers and even probably close to 1000 candles. He had to wonder if his sisters thought that this would work. As if trying to set a mood that he wasn't in the mood to even remotely talk to anybody, let alone meet the person that he was supposed to stay with. This wasn't the way to do it. He took one look at everyone that was in the room waiting for him to join them before they started having dinner and knew that this night was going to be nothing more than a headache. At this point, he was looking forward to somebody trying to interrupt the night with some information. Even though he had specifically told everybody that he would be busy for the evening dealing with his mother and sisters and, of course, all the extra eligible females that were waiting to bat their eyes. They had all looked at him like he was nothing more than a giant piece of meat that had a
Benton walked briskly to the medical facility. It wasn't that far, but it was far enough where it would take him a few minutes to get there. As you walk down the hall, he could hear everything starting to get a little bit more pronounced. Something was going on, and he wasn't exactly sure what. Whatever, it sounded like it wasn't that good. He was absolutely sure that he wasn't going to enjoy having to deal with whatever he was walking into. One of the doctors was yelling, and some of the nurses as well. But he didn't know who they were yelling at, and it seemed as if it was getting louder as he was getting closer, but it wasn't because of the distance. It was because of whatever the situation was, the doctor absolutely adamant for somebody to get out of the area. Benton stopped for a minute and tried to piece together what he could already hear coming from the medical Bay. He thought it would probably be best if he took a moment to lis
Benton followed the doctor out into the hallway. It was one of the very few times that somebody was going to lead him around. He wasn't the submissive type. He was usually the most dominant male in the room, period. However, he did trust the doctor, and he would follow him. That was just something that was going to happen. Otherwise, he wouldn't be working there. “The patient exhibits some kind of PTSD towards the water. Something very bad happened to her. The only time that we can understand what is going on with her is when she's asleep. Right now, she's talking in her sleep period. She keeps mentioning Josh, but we don't know who that is. Neither does she. She seems confused when we mention that name. However, when it's time to get water near her as we need to cleanse and bathe certain areas to make sure that no infection sets in, we have a huge issue with her, and it's the only time that we have any type o
The entire room went completely silent. The only thing that was heard was the beeping of the machines. The woman in the middle of the room was clearly in shock. Now her wide eyes and the confused look on her face were the only thing that people were staring at. They needed to see any type of recognition with the name that he had just said. It was clear that she didn't have a clue. She wasn't reacting to the name at all, but that wasn't unusual when it came to cases of amnesia. Even Benton was sitting there looking at her very closely. He meant every word that he said, though. It was one of the very few times that he had shown any type of empathy for a person, but he knew that he had done wrong. He wasn't going to take it out on her anymore because of his mistake. He was going to make sure that she was taken care of medically and that all of her needs were met. It was a fluke that she had been that close to the base at all; how
