"Didn't you have a date with your boyfriend today?" Carnation looked up from folding clean clothes to see her stepmother serving the lunch she had brought to the small table in the room.
“No. Wregan is busy right now. He has a pictorial in Vigan and would probably return to Manila on Monday," she replied politely and resumed folding the clothes.
"Do you plan on staying here in the hospital?" Carnation nodded in response, her attention still on folding the clothes. "By the way, I spoke with your father's doctor, and he has already given your father permission to return home and continue his treatment there; it's also good for you not to be overweight; we don't have any hospital bills to worry about, only your daddy's medications."
