Spencer"What do you mean they escaped?" I growl.Three of my guards cower in fear before me. The block of cells they were guarding was attacked. Lights cut out. Injections of a sedative given. The fact that Marc and Hazel were discovered in the cell where my prophecy wolves were supposed to be tells me all I need to know. Bonnie and Clyde were plotting to steal one or both of them. The Gods only know where they planned to go because there aren't many options available to them. Going rogue is all they could have done. Stupid. Kids these days just don't have any fucking common sense. And where in the fuck did he get the sedatives? He tried a trick from my book. I bet the security cameras caught them in the act of some things. He must have stolen the sedatives from me. Heathen!"We failed you, Alpha. Punish us as you wish," a cracked voice whimpers, bringing me back to the guards. They all stand there with their heads hung low. They look so pathetic. "Because I need your permission fir
JezebelI drive as fast as I can toward the entrance of the pack. I can not believe the war has started."Jade?" Silence."Jade!" I cry out nervously, tears cascading down my cheeks. "Please, answer me."Silence."JADE!" I scream. And still... silence. The scream helped alleviate some of the frustration, but I'm still fucking terrified. I'm getting close to the gate. I can see the battle up ahead. I don't know what to do. There are so many wolves a few hundred yards in front of me. Jon is right. In my human form, I am weak. Jade is the real Alpha, not me. Without her, there is nothing I can do. "Jade! What about the vision? Jon does not fight this war alone, Jade. Where the fuck are you?" I growl. The silence is deafening. Maybe this isn't the only battle. Maybe this isn't our time. I decide it's probably best to just turn around and seek refuge with the rest of the innocents like Jon wanted. Before I can put the car in reverse, the passenger door swings open, and someone takes a sea
JezebelI can feel the tension as I enter my front door. I have just returned home from school. It was a really bad day! Tisha was in a great mood, which I immediately was suspicious of. Tisha is never in a good mood. She can not stand me, and the feeling is mutual. Despite our dislike of one another, we keep it cordial. Her father is our pack's Alpha, and my father is his Beta. We used to be close friends. We enjoyed sleepovers at each other's houses, went places together, and hung out at school. It has been four years since we liked one another but we are forced to play nice. Today, however, Tisha was too nice. I am usually greeted by my adoring friends once I step foot on school grounds. As I enter school, I can usually feel the heat of Tisha's eyes as she glares angrily upon me. I don't know why she hates me so much. I can't help but wonder if we were ever truly friends or if she was pretending the whole time. One day, out of the blue, she picked a fight with me and acted like I
JezebelMy head is pounding, and I can hear a faint voice telling me to open my eyes. As the voice gets louder, I recognize it is my mothers. My eyes pop open, and I sit up quickly. The room is blurry, and I keep blinking til it comes into focus. "Did I faint?""Yes, hunny. You did," my mother says. She looks rough. Her eyes are puffy, and her cheeks are flushed. Her face is tear streaked and full of worry. Her blonde hair is a frizzy mess. How long was I out, I wonder."I don't suppose that any of what I remember happening was only a dream?" I question hopefully. "No. It wasn't a dream, Jezebel. I am so sorry. I can't believe this is happening, but Alpha Theodore has exiled you. He claims suspicions of you being a witch. He justifies his claim with the fact that your wolf has yet to emerge and you are nearing your eighteenth birthday. He also believes you have cast a spell on the majority of the pack, which is why you are so adored. He says your name even sounds witchy. He does not p
JeddI had just ended a phone call with my sister Susan a few minutes before I heard the sound of tires on gravel. Susan decided she couldn't sever the mate bond, and Jezebel would be arriving alone. I thought she was crazy for even thinking about trying. Jezebel is almost an adult and capable of being on her own. I am 42 and still haven't found my mate. I am a soldier and wouldn't have been the best father or husband in my younger years, but the older I get, the more I crave being mated and creating a family. Taking Jezebel in will give me some practice on being a parent as I will be watching out for her and giving her guidance. I have lived alone for so long that it will take some adjusting to have another person living in the house, though. I step out onto the porch and wave. She slowly steps out of the car. She has long black hair and loose curls blowing in the breeze. She is wearing sunglasses with blue tinted "mirror" like lenses. I want a pair! She looks strong and rebellious.
JezebelUncle Jedd seems like a decent man. His house could use some sprucing up, but that is to be expected from a man who has been a bachelor as long as he has. I climb into his large silver hummer. It is unlike any vehicle I have ever seen before. There is a huge control panel with several buttons and switches. Curiosity is overcoming me, and I am working hard to control myself, but I want to flip a switch and press some of those buttons so badly. "Go ahead. Flip that switch!" says my Uncle Jedd. I bring my right hand towards a switch at the bottom of the panel. "No! Not that one! NEVER flip that switch! Flip the one in the middle next to the blue button." I do as he says, and rock and roll music starts blaring from the speakers. Even though it is loud, it is calming. I sink into the seat and observe the scenes of my new town passing by my window. In about 15 minutes, we pull up in front of a small shop. My uncle turns off the engine and starts talking. "This hummer is military
ShirleyClarissa is one of most women in this town who love to gossip. I listen when people talk, but I don't participate much. I do not gossip, and I do not like drama. As soon as Clarissa begins talking about Jezebel, I want her to shut up. The woman can TALK. She talks fast, barely pausing for breath, and everyone else can barely get a word in. I knew Jezebel could hear her. Wolves have heightened senses. I did not, however, expect to see her suddenly appear out of nowhere behind Clarissa. She is stealthier than any wolf I have ever met. I am aware of her presence and was listening for her. I never heard her coming, and that put me on edge a little. I am expecting her to confront Clarissa. I can see that she is fuming. Once again, though, she surprises me. She kills Clarissa with kindness and leaves to wait for Jedd in his hummer. "Oh my god!" giggles Clarissa. "That was so awkward! Why didn't you tell me she was in here? I asked you if you had met her yet!""Yeah, you did. But in
JezebelI sit my purchases in the back of Uncle Jedd's hummer. I notice a boy and a girl who look to be about my age sitting up against the side of a building in the alley across from the shop. They are passing a blunt back and forth, and I could use a drag. I decide to introduce myself and ask for a toke. I cross the street, and the boy is already staring at me. I guess I should get used to the attention, being the talk of the town and all that.I can hear him say, "Must be the new girl." The girl doesn't look at me until I am standing in front of them. She has bright, red hair and so many face piercings. She seems to be covered head to toe in tattoos. Her eyes are bright red and look demonic. Not to be rude, I love tattoos and piercings, but this girl has them to the extreme! "Holy shit!" She exclaims. "I love your contacts! I never thought about putting a different color in each eye, but I will definitely be trying it out now! You look so badass!""Thanks," I reply. "These are not
