“The price is fourteen dollars and fifty-nine cents.” A quick voice said, “Here’s your change. Have a nice day. Thank you for visiting our store.”

Anna saw off the last customer in the convenience store, then twisted the ‘close’ face of the open-close sign board hanging in front of the glass door. She let out a long breath after wiping the sweat off her forehead. Finished the shift today!

Anna’s shift today didn’t end so late. As usual, she could go home at 9 am, but the person on duty reported that she can't come today, so Anna tried to work until eleven o’clock at night.

Her parents and younger brother were asleep now.
