Chapter 2: Found his mate

It was finally the grand opening and as expected, Amelia was working herself beyond her limits and the rest of the employees did nothing to help her. Instead, they even added to her burden

This was because the other employees knew that if anything went wrong, Madam Rosa would immediately blame her even if she wasn’t the one at fault.

Amelia wondered how Madam Rosa was so blind everytime something happened not to see that she wasn't the cause of it.

Well if she chose to acknowledge it, how would she get to hit her and make her feel worthless?

Amelia was getting more drinks for the guest when someone suddenly started clapping from behind her.

“Well well well, if it isn’t the town’s little witch,” she heard a familiar voice say. Amelia sighed as she knew that whatever was going to happen wasn't going to be good.

She turned and saw the two biggest devils in her life standing in front of her. What were they doing there anyways?

They were supposed to be enjoying the party but it looked like bullying Amelia was far more important than being with the notable rich men that had attended the function.

Amelia could tell from the mischievous look in their eyes that they were here to cause trouble for her.

She would have endured it on any other day but tonight was a special occasion for Madam Rosa and her restaurant as reporters from different news stations were there and nothing was supposed to go wrong.

“P-please, just l-leave me alone f-for tonight.  Y-your mom won’t spare me if anything g-goes wrong at this event. P-olease,”  Amelia pleaded, hoping that they still had a bit of humanity left in them not to ruin the event for their mother.

The eldest of the two stepped forward and said, “I would love to honour your request but you see, this party is far too boring for our liking and we want to spice it up,” she sneered with an evil glint in her eyes.

"And what better what to do such than to let the cursed child work her magic on the party."

Before Amelia could react to her words, she felt someone push her from behind.

She didn't expect it and so, she wasn’t prepared for it and so she lost her balance and she started to wobble.

The tray which contained the drinks for the guests fell from her hand and onto the ground.

The sound of the tray falling and glass breaking echoed loudly in the hall much to her displeasure.

Everyone stopped whatever they were doing and turned their attention to her.

Some rolled their eyes at her, some shook their head in annoyance while others returned their attention to what they were doing.

Great as usual, she had lived up to her name and ruined something important.

Amelia heard someone growl angrily behind her. She turned and she froze when she saw that it was Madam Rosa.

Her face was red in anger while her fists were clenched tightly and she looked like she was ready to kill Amelia.

If it wasn’t the fact that they were in a public place, Amelia was sure that she would have pounced on her and beaten her or maybe even kill her

Amelia knew that she was dead meat if Madam Rosa got her hands on her and so, her survival instincts kicked in.

She turned to run away from there but she bumped into a solid wall. The impact was so much that Amelia lost her balance and fell backwards

She closed her eyes and waited for her body to hit the ground.

However, that didn’t happen as a pair of strong arms caught her before that could happen.

She felt sparks run through her body as the person held her.

Even though it felt like an electric shock, it was not painful like an electric shock, rather it was the complete opposite and the feeling felt good.

Amelia slowly opened her eyes to look at the person who had caught her she and saw a pair of ocean blue eyes staring at her, causing her breath to get trapped in her throat.

The world seemed to stop and nothing else mattered as Amelia looked into the alluring eyes of this handsome man.

she felt a strange feeling towards the man she had never met before.

She noticed his eyes slowly grew to a darker shade of blue. If Amelia wasn’t so close to him, she would have thought it was black.

And it seemed to have a lot of anger hidden beneath his depths and that creeped her out greatly.

However, as soon as she blinked, his eyes went back to their normal blue colour. Did she imagine what she saw just now? Amelia wondered.

He looked deeply at Amelia and a low growl left his lips. This sent shivers down her spine as she had never heard such a growl.

‘Why did his growl sound like an animal’s?’ she ask herself.

“Mate!”  She suddenly heard him say. Her knees immediately became weak when she heard his deep voice.

How could the stranger's look and voice affect her so much?

“Sir I’m so so sorry for the commotion she caused,” Amelia heard Madam Rosa say from behind her.

She immediately came back to her senses and tried to free herself from his grip.

He didn’t seem to like her action as he growled once again and he tightened his grip around her waist.

“P-please let m-me go,” Amelia begged in her weak voice.

“Mine!” He said sharply and she swore she saw his eyes change colour once again.

A man suddenly walked up to them and touched the man's shoulder and whispered something into his ear.

Only then did he let go of Amelia. She didn’t waste any more time as she scurried out of the room.
