Breaking the Harvest Festival Formal into 3 parts & 3 different POVs, because it's alot! I know the last few chapters have been slow, but things are finally starting to get interesting! Hope you guys enjoy!
Maeva POV When Headmaster Ronan announced Dimitri as the Harvest Festival Alpha, I couldn't be more proud. I glanced up at him from where I sat on his lap with my head nestled into the crook if his neck, but his eyes were closed, as if he hadn't even heard his name be called. He looked so peaceful as his head laid comfortably on top of my curls, his nose buried within the tangles of my coils, breathing in my scent. I giggled as I told him that his name had been called. He looked down at me, & though I could tell he was confused, his eyes held nothing but adoration for me, and.... love? Yea, that's definitely love in his eyes. He is helplessly in love with me, & though I know I should end things before he falls even further, another part of me wants nothing more than to allow myself to be loved. I get off his lap so he can go to the stage, shaking off this feeling that I know is only going to break both our hearts in the end, or atleast I thought I had. As he stood
Ronan POV I watched on as the students enjoyed their evening. I'm sure most people were surprised at how well Maeva took Andrea & Dimitri being made Alpha & Luna of the Harvest Festival, but I wasn't surprised at all. She always manages to keep her cool, no matter the situation. That girl is the perfect model of class & grace. One thing is for sure, her father must have been one hell of a man because he sure did raise her well. As I watched her & Dimitri slow dancing I couldn't help but become slightly irritated at the sight. I mean, sure there was always the possibility that he was in fact her mate, but my intuition told me otherwise. The two of them were playing with fire, getting as close & attached to eachother as they have. It was only a matter of time before one of them got burned, & the thought of Maeva being hurt by him made my blood boil. He was almost 19, & surely he would find his mate at the ball in January, leaving Maeva out in the cold. The thou
Maeva POV As King Rayan approached me the first thing I noticed was his eyes. The swirls of blue-green & royal blue in his eyes were evidence of him fighting his wolf for control. It seemed strange to me that a 600yr old immortal Demigod Werewolf had trouble controlling his wolf, but I assumed his wolf was stronger than most. I watched as he slowly stalked towards me, those beautiful eyes entrancing me in their stare. "You shouldn't be out here alone. The Beta will answer for this." His gravelly voice spoke as he stood infront of me. "Well that's not necessary, Your Grace. Headmaster Ronan knows I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself." I answer him watching his eyes for any clear indication of which of them I'm actually speaking to. He takes a deep breath, closing his eyes in the process, & when he opens them again they are a sparkling vibrant green with just the faintest undertone of blue. He hops up on the boulder next to me, & my nostrils are ov
Rayan POV I stood there frozen in place, my heart skipping beats as she skipped towards her dorm. I was afraid that if I moved just yet, it would only be to her side. I didn't want to let her go, neither did Razor. We had waited so long to find our other half, our soul mate. Part of me couldn't believe that she was actually here, that I had actually found her. I had given up on having a fated mate hundreds of years ago, figuring that I was destined to be alone forever. But she was here, & she was perfect. She is strong & beautiful, & not afraid to put me or Razor in our place. I still couldn't believe that she had done that, or more so that he had listened. I couldn't wait to get to know her, her likes & dislikes, her quirks & pet peeves, her goals & dreams. I barely knew her, only knowing what Ronan had told me about her, but I already knew she was extraordinary. "Shall we go back to the residence, or did you want to stand here for the rest of the night lookin
Maeva POV It was late when I got back to my room. Stella was already in bed, but she was waiting up to ensure I got back safely. I walked in the room all smiles & she just looked at me with a raised eyebrow. I giggled like a child as I made my way to our ensuite bathroom to shower as my King asked. Turning on the hot water, pulling my hair down & stripping out of my dress, I was still a bit in shock that I was mated to the King. "Your awfully smiley for someone who ran out of the ballroom distraught. What could have possibly happened out in the woods?" Stella asked from the doorway as I climbed in the shower. I could hear her moving to sit on the toilet as I shampooed my hair. Stella was my Beta, & she'd sworn to help me find my mate, so I needed to tell her the truth. Afterall, I had argued with Rayan over telling her & Kelsey about our bond, & she would find out in the morning anyway. "Well, if you must know, I met my mate out there in the wood
Rayan POV I watched her, waiting for her to flip out, but to my surprise, she never did. She just smiled up at me & nodded. Not exactly the reaction I expected. If she was angry, she wasn't showing it at all. "You have a plan to get rid of her, I assume?" She asked. "Ofcourse, not only do I not want her here anymore, but I know that she can't stay here. I want to spend as much time with you as I can without drawing too much attention to the two of us, but I won't be able to do that if she's here," I began expaining. "The trouble is, she's quite stubborn, so I may very well have to command her to go back to Spain if I can't convince her." I finished telling her. She sat there, looking beautiful & innocent, lost in her own thoughts. What I would give to know what was going on inside that beautiful head of hers. Usually, I can atleast get an idea of what someone is thinking, the energy of their wolf gives it away, but I can barely feel her
Maeva POV I couldn't stand to look up & face them as I told them my secret. Between Gia & Stella urging me to tell them, I had finally given in, & now that I had told them that Maeva Thompson was an alias, there was no going back. I would have to tell them who I was, consequences be damned. I trusted Ronan to protect me from Rayan if I needed it, but I knew that if it came to that, it would take both of us to subdue him. I really hoped it didn't come to that. "Daniel wasn't my real father, he was my guardian & protector. My real father is dead, he died when I was a baby. My mother sacrificed everything to ensure I had a chance to live. She gave me up so I could, she knew I'd never be safe if anyone knew who I really was. So, my guardian raised me like a normal child, well aside from the warrior training, but he wanted to be sure that I could protect myself if the need were to ever arise." I told them as I stood there with my arms folded across my chest. I never lo
Rayan POV We were just finishing going over all the details of the festival & ball when I received the mindlink from my head warrior Axyl letting me know of Isabella's arrival. Great, not only is she here but she's early. I instructed him to bring her up to the guest suite where she would be staying until I got rid of her. I was intrigued to know how my little princess would handle her if she refused to leave, but I also didn't want her to have to do whatever it was. I didn't want to risk anyone finding out about our bond, or who she was until she was marked. "Isabella is here, Axyl is escorting her to the guest suite now. I'm going to start some dinner for us." I got out to the others before I was pulled into a mindlink. "Isabella, it's disrespectful to directly link your King. If you need something you need to go through Axyl. I'm in the middle of a meeting, do not disturb me again, Isabella. I'll link Axyl when I finish dinner, & IF you haven't angered me, per
