Avery's POV

I was on my way home. It had been two days since the meeting with the Watson Group. The contract had come through, I’d reviewed it, signed it… and then silence.

Not a word since.

As I pulled into the driveway, I heard the kids chirping inside and Miss Lois trying to calm them down.

A small smile tugged at the corner of my lips.

It had been a hectic week; back-to-back meetings, reports, and appointments. I hadn’t spent much time with the kids. Thankfully, they understood, even if they were a little too playful sometimes, they've always been good kids.

I unlocked the door with my key, something I’d insisted on. I had told Miss Lois never to open the door for anyone. I couldn't afford to take risks with my children’s safety.

“Mummy is home!” Caitlyn called out.

Seconds later, all three of them ran toward me.

I dropped my bag and opened my arms wide, gathering them into a hug.

“Hey, cuties! "How was your day?” I asked, kissing the top of Caitlyn’s head.
