Avery's POV
"Welcome to Washington, Kids," I said with a smile as the cool breeze of Washington touched my skin.
It's been five years since I left this city with my pregnancy, and now I'm back with my triplets Cayson, Clayton, and Caitlyn. The adorable kids the Moon Goddess bestowed on me.
I watched as they stretched their arms in the air, taking in the fresh air. Excitement filled their faces.
They had been waiting for this moment for months, and finally, they were here.
Caitlyn, dressed in a bright pink dress, twirled around.
“ I love it here, Mommy! It's so big and noisy!”
Cayson, the tech enthusiast, was already scanning the surroundings, taking in every detail of the airport.
“This airport is huge! It's bigger than the one in France,” he said.
Clayton, the curious one, asked, “Can we get some food, Mom?” I'm starving! I want a hot dog!”
I chuckled, “Let's get our luggage first, then we'll grab some lunch, and maybe we can even find a hot dog cart, then we'll go see your godmother. She's been dying to meet you all.”
As we made our way to the baggage claim, Caitlyn suddenly darted off towards a nearby vendor.
“ Mommy, look! Balloons! Can I get one, please?”
My heart skipped a beat as I rushed after her.
“ Wait, sweetie, don't go too far! Stay close to me.”
But she was already engaged with the vendor, giggling and pointing at the colorful balloons.
As I was trying to watch over her and keep Cayson and Clayton beside me.
A stranger approached me.
“ Excuse me ma'am”
My instincts kicked in.
“ Yes, how may I help you?” I asked.
“ I know you very well,” the stranger smiled, causing me to frown.
I couldn't remember the stranger, as I had never met him in my life, even before I went to California.
Could he be the one-night stand stranger! Definitely not. He has a broader physique than him. Even though I can't remember him vividly, I know this is definitely not him, so I shrug it off my mind.
I straightened my face. “ What do you want?” I asked.
Before the stranger could respond, Caitlyn tugged at my hand. “ Mommy, can I get a balloon? Please?”
I hesitated, unsure of what to do next. I don't want to be rude to the stranger, but I also need to attend to my daughter's needs.
"Let's get the balloon later, sweetie," I said, trying to distract Caitlyn.
But she was insistent. "No, Mommy, I want it now! Please?"
I reach into my purse and bring out money to settle the vendor.
As I was settling the vendor, the stranger dragged my bag and ran away with it.
He was obviously a thief.
“ Thief! "Thief!” I shouted on top of my voice. I can't afford to lose that bag as it contains some important documents.
My shouts and screams grabbed the attention of some people at the airport, which alerted the security.
Two security men follow in pursuit of the thief and I follow behind them, grabbing my kids.
The thief was caught. And my bag was retrieved.
“Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it,” I said as I exhaled due to the small run.
And the thief was arrested and was taken away immediately.
"Let's get going, kids, your godmother must be waiting for us," I said as I turned to face my kids, and it dawned on me that Caitlyn wasn't with us.
My heart skipped.
Caitlyn! Caitlyn, I called out as I looked around, "Where is Caitlyn?" I asked Cayson and Clayton, who were standing beside me, but they were only starring back at me innocently, worry written over their faces.
No! No! I can't lost my child.
I scanned through the crowd and called out her name, holding on to Cayson and Clayton.
Geoffrey's POV
"I'm sorry mister, I didn't do that intentionally," a tiny angelic voice came from somewhere beneath me.
I just got back from a business trip. Being the head of the Shifters Council, the Lycan King and the CEO really comes with a lot of responsibility.
I just want to get home and rest for a bit.
As I made my way through the airport alongside my Beta, I stumbled upon something.
I looked down and saw a cute little creature in front of me, staring up innocently as she pleaded for getting in my way.
I nodded slightly and wanted to strode past her as I didn't have time to reprimand a little girl for such a little mistake.
And just as one of my bodyguards was trying to get her away from my front, I got struck, as I felt a sudden chill in me, as though I was staring back at a part of me.
I looked into her angelic eyes. She has gray eyes just like me.
Her slim little face and jawlines were just like mine, she seemed to wear a worry on that I couldn't ignore.
"Let her be," I ordered.
I bent over to reach her height.
Hey cutie! "Where are you off to?" I asked.
She bent over her head shyly.
"I am looking for my Mommy," she said with her lowly little voice now shaky, as though she wanted to cry, fiddling with her fingers.
"Where is your Mom?" I asked.
"I don't know," she replied, her voice barely audible.
I raised to my feet and grabbed her hand.
I turned to Neon, my Beta.
"I want you to alert the security..." I was saying.
"Oh! There she is, the little girl dragged off her hand from my grip and ran towards the woman who was looking around shouting
"Caity!" Caity!
"Mommy," the little girl who I now know as Caity screamed as she ran towards the woman.
The woman turned to face my direction.
And her face looks quite familiar instantly.
She bent over to look at her daughter, checking her whole body over and over as though to check if there were any injuries, and then pulled her into her embrace.
"You should be careful with your child next time," I said as I got to her side.
She looked up and got up immediately.
Then, just in an instant, she dragged the girl behind her and two other boys whom I hadn't noticed earlier.
I remember her instantly, the woman I had had a one-night stand with five years ago.
I couldn't mistake her because her face has been embedded in my head since then. I had sketched her face and looked at it sometimes.
"You..." I muttered.
My mind flashbacks to that night I had met her at the bar drunk and how she had asked me to sleep with her and then the next morning she was gone, leaving a 500 dollar note for me.
I tried looking for her, but I couldn't find her on any social media and not having her name didn't help as well.
Gail my wolf groaned as he paced in my head now, as though he couldn't wait to put a mark on her,
"You can't lose her again this time around, she is our mate," he yelled.
The little kids stuck their heads out from behind her curiosity written on their faces.
The two boys are replicas of me. No one can dispute that.
"Are they mine?" I asked.
"I paid you for your service, and we have no business together," she said coldly, brushing off my question and walking past me.
I was taken aback, by her boldness, no one would dare walk out on me in that way.
"I want all the information about her and those kids," I said, turning to Neon.

I asked her, trying to comport myself. You're two months pregnant with triplets.I scoffed, "You're joking, right?"The doctor stared at me, confusion written all over her face."Why would I be joking with something like that?" she asked."Okay, let me ask you, when was the last time you saw your period?" She asked. And then it dawned on me that I missed my period last month and this month was supposed to be last week as well.I had shrugged it off, bearing in mind that I was barren anyway.Maybe it's because of the rejection and stress that I am going through these days that make it skip. Avery's POVI sat on the floor, feeling the pain of the rejection gush through me, his words ringing in my head."I want you gone!"
