Rhiannon

My head felt like a lead balloon while my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth from the dryness.

I quickly rubbed my hands on the surface that I was lying on, making sure I was, in fact, in bed and not the grassy field. A breath of air left my lips as I felt the smooth sheets against my skin. I slowly opened my eyes just enough to see the water bottle that I kept on my nightstand. I quickly reached over, grabbed the bottle for dear life, and drank the entire thing.

  • The True Elemental Luna   Chapter 36 - Love is Blind

Rieka Cyrus had called a couple of his friends to come over with a truck for Layla's belongings. Because Seth and I were leaving with Blue and Roxie, Cyrus had them come over way too early in the morning so that we could be here when Layla left. With everyone here, it didn't take long at all to pack her things and load the truck. The entire time, the guys relentlessly threatened Cyrus, telling him what would happen if he ever broke her heart or hurt her in any way. They even kept it up while we ate breakfast, and much to my amusement, some of the younger boys joined in on the hollow threats. If they only knew a lycan's strength ..... "Look, you guys can bust my balls all you want, but the only one of you that I'm remotely afraid of is the blonde that's been strangely quiet," Cyrus said as we all walked back outside. Damian had a confused look on his face as he looked between Cyrus and I. "Jay threatened to drain your blood, but you're more afraid of Goldilocks?" Cyrus scoffe

  • The True Elemental Luna   Chapter 35 - Isn't it Lovely

Rieka The second day of the summit went as smoothly and drama-free as possible, meaning there was no need to extend it further.I had a feeling that part of the reason the second day went so quickly was that I refused to play dress up. As soon as the kids saw me dressed in my typical jeans, an orange t-shirt, and my well-worn crocks they all hurried to their rooms to change into similar attire. Nothing that Jo said could make me change my mind, and Seth knew better than to try. I made sure to earn the dirty looks we received when we walked into the banquet hall. No amount of glares could remove the confident smile that was on my face. As soon as the summit was officially over the Alphas and Lunas that we severed our alliances with hurried to their rooms to grab their belongings and leave. I probably looked like a bitch as I simply watched them scurry like ants caught in a rainstorm, but I didn't care. The rest of us decided to get a bonfire going for the night and enjoy some dow

  • The True Elemental Luna   Chapter 34 - Listen to the Beat

Layla I let out a nervous sigh as I stared at my parents' bedroom door. After a few seconds, I finally gathered the courage to press their door buzzer, which turned on a light in their room and created a soft, knocking sound instead of the typical doorbell sound. It was something Uncle Seth had installed in all the soundproof rooms, since regular knocking wouldn't work and no one wanted to hear the awful "ding, dong" sound that a typical doorbell made. Shit! I didn't even bother to see what time it was before I decided to talk to them. It's got to be late .... But just as I turned to walk back to my room, the door opened, and my mom looked at me with happy tears in her eyes. "You came to tell us you're moving in with Cyrus, didn't you?" she asked with a reassuring smile. I didn't even have a chance to answer, because as soon as I went to nod my head my mom wrapped me in a tight embrace. "I'm so happy for you hunny! I really am! I remember when I met your father, and the m

  • The True Elemental Luna   Chapter 33 - Barefoot Daydream

Freya After Aunt Rhi and Uncle Seth told us what was going on, we all parted ways, and I decided to go for a quiet walk to the large pond. My shoes were killing me, so I decided to slide them off and carry them. The early-season grass felt soft beneath my feet, and I enjoyed it while I could, knowing that soon the heat of summer would make it too painful to walk barefoot. As I walked past the packhouse, Amar saw me from where he was lying on the front porch, lifted his head, and wagged his tail. I smiled at the one-eyed weimaraner as I walked by, letting him know that he didn't have to join me. Kiera and I listened to the sounds of nature, neither one of us knowing what to say.I never thought that Aunt Rhi and Uncle Seth would ever be challenged. It wasn't a physical challenge done by an Alpha to take over the pack, but it was a challenge all the same. And now, a few of us will be scrutinized and tested for a year to determine who is best suited for each position. I assume

Layla My mind was swirling with everything that'd been thrown at me. This is NOT how I anticipated the day would go when I woke up this morning. After learning about Aunt Rhi and Uncle Seth's decision to step down, I decided to find Cyrus. As I made my way towards the closest gazebo, the wind blew his scent of gunpowder and sandalwood towards me, making my heart flutter as I inhaled deeply. "Can we pack tonight?" Phoenix asked with a pleading whimper. I swear to the Moon Goddess I'm going to go take a cold shower if you don't stop acting like a hussy. "All these years you forced me to behave while everyone else got to have fun!" Phoenix replied angrily before going quiet. I shook my head and looked up to see Cyrus walking towards me. "I knew you wouldn't leave me hanging," he said with a grin as he winked at me. I have never wanted to punch AND kiss anyone so much in my life ...... "When did you first find out that I was your mate?" I asked him as I crossed my arm

  • The True Elemental Luna   Chapter 31 - Changes

Rieka Seth, Jo, Sam, Sylvia, and I had a brief conversation with Councilman Walter Bishop before we went looking for the kids. Walter really did impress me. Not only was he a reasonable man, but he had a kind look about him thanks to his soft, hazel eyes and short, light blonde hair. But let me tell you what, when he got pissed off, he didn't hesitate to let his anger show, like when we heard Stacy question the decisions Selene and Fenrir had made. "I'm going to ignore the fact that you have a blue wolf right now," Walter said to Maeve, breaking up the tension between her and Sam. "Is the God of the underworld really your mate?" Maeve looked into Luke's dark eyes and smiled as she nodded her head. "And you," Walter said as he pointed at Layla. "Your mate is the son of the lycan God?" Layla crossed her arms over her chest just like her father does when he's trying to hide his emotions. "I haven't accepted him yet." A large smile formed on Cyrus' face. "You haven't rejecte

Seth Weeks had come and gone since Rieka went missing, along with both of our birthdays. Which meant that Rieka was now eighteen. The fact that we share the same birthday is a coincidence that doesn't matter without her whereabouts known. The amount of times Lucius and I had gone to the Kurtz

Seth Dub came to a smooth stop in Julia's backyard. I hated to admit it, but Julia was right. Dub had earned a new respect from me after the speed at which he carried Rhiannon and I. As Dub leaned down so that I could easily dismount with Rhiannon, I thought about when Lucius chased the horse thro

Rhiannon I kept my eyes closed tightly as I slowly came to. The only sounds I heard were the wind blowing and water splashing in the distance.
