Chapter 8
Confrontation
As Luka approached the castle his breathing became laboured. He could feel heat rolling off of him and his eyes became dark swirls. He entered the Hallway and made his way to the dining Hall where he knew his parents would be. Queen Irina gasped when she saw Luka. “Luka!" she shouted, "you have to calm down, take deep breaths”, his mother hurriedly advised him. Luka knew then that his parents had been hiding something from him for a very long time. They had knowing looks on their face. Just then Lyle entered the Hall with Rosalie and instantly knew something was wrong. He took one look at Luka and asked, “what is going on here, why all the screaming?” Luka turned around and his face wore a mask of anger and betrayal, but upon seeing Lyles’ mate with him and the shocked look she wore, he calmed down so as not to frighten the young woman. Luka replied in a clipped tone, “mum and dad have been hiding something from us, something important, and I want answers now!” Lyle looked questioningly at his parents and the King and Queen exchanged worried looks with each other before the King sighed heavily and said, “yes it is true, we have been keeping something from your brother and you, but we have done so to protect you, and not because we wanted to hide information away from the two of you.” The King motioned for everyone to sit down, but Luka remained standing, leaning against the wall with his arms folded infront of him. He cleared his throat and looked directly at Luka.

The TruthThe King cleared his throat and began his story. “When your mum was pregnant with you and your brother, she was not aware that she was pregnant with Twins. If you find your mate, you have the option of aging as normal humans do, and pass on to eternal rest, or you can live up till any age you desire. It is both a blessing and a curse. Lyle and Rosalie Completing the Mate Bond After returning to the castle, Lyle went in search of Rosalie and found her lounging in the parlour. Her hair was open and hung down to her breasts. She had on a simple white long dress with a green ribbon tied around the waste. She looked ethereal. So pure. His heartstrings pulled at the sight of her. Rosalie sensed his presence and turned to look at him. As their eyes met sparks ignited. Rosalie could see flames at the corners of Lyles’ eyes, she felt the heat resonate deep within her core. Unfamiliar ScentIt was now three months since the Twins became Alpha, up until now life was pretty simple, easy-going. Boring even. Pack GatheringThat evening Luka and Lyle had sent word to their pack and the surround packs via the mind link and through word of mouth that a meeting was to be held at their castle grounds. There were over 1000 wolves gathered, both men and women, eagerly awaiting what the new Alphas were to announce.
