Chapter 1

In the beginning 

King Alexander and Queen Irina knew not who their parents were or where they came from, or how they came to be, they only knew that they existed. They were very powerful, different, the first of a royal bloodline responsible for the survival of all mankind. They were only 18 when they found each other, inexplicably being drawn to one another like a magnetic force. The instant they laid eyes on one another they knew that they belonged together. The world stilled and the air froze till the King and Queens breath became one. This was the mate bond personified. As it is when a couple is young and in love, they could not keep their hands off each other and completed the mate bond immediately, allowing their true nature to take control. Soon they conceived their first child. Little did they know that they in fact had conceived twins. The queen's pregnancy was a difficult one, through the 10 months that she carried her babies, the earth saw high seas, many floods, and days so hot you would think you were in hell. On the day the twins were born the waves of the sea were tremendous and destructive, while the earth rumbled and shook and spew out lava from its core. This signified the majestic arrival of the babies. The royal bloodline was expanding and the world had yet to prepare itself for the events to come.

The Twins    The queen gave birth to twin boys. Luka and Lyle. The King was extremely proud that his firstborn were twin boys. Even as little as babies, they had sharp and prominent features. Deep blue eyes and hair as black as night. They were the perfect combination of King Alexander and Queen Irina. Beautiful beyond comprehension. The Twins 18th Birthday One of the most anticipated days had arrived. It was the Twin's 18th birthday, the day they would officially become Alpha, sharing the duties and responsibilities equally. Lukas’ Point of View Luka and most of the people in the banquet hall now understood what was going on, the young Alpha had found his mate. The Twins parents beamed proudly from the banquet table, and the rest of their siblings were very excited. Luka was surprised that it happened so quickly for Lyle, almost most of what they had heard about finding ones' mate on their eighteenth birthday turned out to be true. Mixed Emotions The birthday celebrations continued, together with the Announcement of the Twins as Alpha and the Introduction of Rosalie as Lyles mate. Trembling Earth   King Alexander and Queen Irina were the first to notice the trembling within the Hall and instantly knew that something was wrong with Luka. They knew that Lukas was tied to the ocean, a water element. and Lyle was tied to the sun, a fire element. They never disclosed much of this to the boys growing up because they did not want them to become aware of their gifts and curse. The Voice in My Head Luka didn’t get much sleep that night. He kept recalling the voice in his head. He could not understand why he was becoming so obsessed with it and was confused about what had actually happened last night when he was at the cliff. He remembered the huge wave. He was not afraid of it, instead, he felt one with it. His emotions resonated with the fury of the wave. He knew it was destructive, but he also knew it would not reach the people at the banquet hall whom he cared for, it would have probably swallowed him up and taken out the rest of the villages in its wake. Confrontation As Luka approached the castle his breathing became laboured. He could feel heat rolling off of him and his eyes became dark swirls. He entered the Hallway and made his way to the dining Hall where he knew his parents would be. Queen Irina gasped when she saw Luka. “Luka!" she shouted, "you have to calm down, take deep breaths”, his mother hurriedly advised him. The TruthThe King cleared his throat and began his story. “When your mum was pregnant with you and your brother, she was not aware that she was pregnant with Twins. Her pregnancy was a very difficult one. The weather was extreme during those 10 months. We experienced days so hot we thought we would be burnt to a crisp by the sun.
