Chapter 4

Rose's Point of View

"Why hasn't she woken up yet?" I could hear a man yell. 

"I am not sure exactly what time she will wake up, but she will wake up. I thought she would have woken up by now but she is human. She isn't as strong as we are," I heard a woman say

"I don't want to hear that. You told me she would wake up soon, but almost a day has passed, and she still hasn't woken up," the man said. I could hear the anger in his voice, and it frightened me. 

"Calm down, Lestat," I heard another woman say. 

I had an excruciating headache, and my body also hurt. I finally opened my eyes and looked around. I instantly knew I was in a hospital. I had an IV in me. I could hear the beeping sound and looked to the side to see a machine that was monitoring my heartbeat, blood pressure, and other things. 

Suddenly, the memory of what happened came to me. I remembered my dad selling me and my little sisters to some men. I remembered being locked in a jail cell and a man beating me in front of my sister. I gasped, and suddenly a man and two women walked into the room. 

"Calm down, Amore Mio. Everything will be okay," The man said. I couldn't calm down. I had been kidnapped, and so had my sisters. I didn't know where they were or if that man still had them. The man tried to touch m,e but I moved away from him on the bed. A painful expression came on his face. Like it hurt him that I didn't want him to touch me. 

"Hey, everything is going to be okay. My name is Alice."

"Where are my sisters?" I asked

"They are safe. They have been staying with me. They are in the waiting room right now," Alice said

"That man, Damen..." I started to say, but the man growled, causing me to look at him.

"He will never harm you again," the man said. 

"This is my brother Lestat, and this is Dr. Elizabeth. You are Rose, right?" Alice asked

"Yes," I replied

"Hello, Rose. You already know that I am Dr. Elizabeth. You have been unconscious for almost a day. You also have a broken arm and two broken ribs. You also have a concussion. You need to rest so that you can get better. How are you feeling right now?" Dr. Elizabeth asked

"I have a headache," I said

"I can give you some pain meds to help with that, okay?" Dr. Elizabeth said

"Okay," I replied, and she left the room, leaving me with Alice and Lestat. Lestat had grey eyes and long black hair. He was very tall and muscular. He was the most handsome man I had ever seen. I stayed silent, not knowing what to say to them. 

"Alice, I need to talk to Rose alone," Lestat said. His eyes were on mine. 

"Okay, I will go check on your sisters, Rose," Alice said, and then she left. 

"I am so sorry that this happened to you. Damen is being punished as we speak. No one will ever harm you again," Lestat said

"Um, thank you. How did I get to the hospital?" I asked

"I saw what Damen was doing to you, and I stopped him. I took you to the hospital," Lestat said

"Thanks for saving me," I said

"You don't have to thank me," Lestat said. I just stared at him for a moment 

Dr. Elizabeth came in with the medicine, and I took it. Then I remembered something. "Um, I don't have insurance, so I was wondering if there is a payment plan to pay the hospital bill," I said

"You don't have to worry about the bill. I got it covered," Lestat said, and I looked at him

"I can't ask you to do that," I said

"You didn't ask. It's already done," Lestat said.

"Thank you for everything.  My sisters and I will leave once I am discharged," I said. I was shocked when Lestat made a noise like a growl. 

"You cannot leave," Lestat said

"What do you mean?" I asked, and then I thought about everything that happened. I remembered Damen calling someone and asking if it was okay for him to do whatever he wanted to me. The person on the other end said it was. His name is Lestat.

"You are the one who bought me and my sisters," I said, and he stayed silent, letting me know I was right. I knew I needed to get out of there. There was no telling what he was planning to do with me. I took the IV out of my arm and tried to run quickly but he was at my side quickly. He picked me up bridal style and took me back to the bed. I ignored the weird sparks that went through my body. 

"Let me go," I screamed as I tried to get away, but he was too strong

"Rose, you need to calm down," Lestat said, but I didn't pay attention to him. I just kept trying to get away. 

"You need to calm down. You are bleeding," Dr. Elizabeth said, but I didn't listen. "We need to get the bleeding to stop before others smell it," Dr. Elizabeth said. I wondered what she was talking about, but my mind was on getting away and getting to my sisters 

"What is going on?" I heard Alice say as she walked into the room with Lilly and Poppy.

"You need to calm down. Look at your sisters, they are scared," Lestat whispered in my ear. I was upset at myself for how I shivered at the sound of his voice. 

I looked over at Lilly and Poppy to see that Poppy was crying. I knew I needed to calm down, so I did. 

I would have to figure out a way to get us out of there later.
