Chapter 12: One Step Towards the Light

Nathan called Zitrey many times in such a low voice but he didn't receive any response. Moreover, he felt that he was hugging or shall I say forcefully piggyback riding a log, as it was not moving nor letting out any sounds. Just then he remembered what Julliana said this morning that Zitrey hates physical contact.

“I'll be dead meat!” he then thought. “He was more dangerous compared to stray dogs.” But as soon as he heard those barks one more time, he jolted and tightens his grip.

He was about to close his eyes from fear when Zitrey altered a word.

“Get down.”

It was in a low tone yet the voice has a trace of fury and eyes were glaring at him sharply. Nathan wishes he just closes his eyes so that he couldn't see this scary expression of him. It causes him more trouble when the wild bark was getting closer. With this loud, those dogs were just a few steps from behind.

“Ah, I want to curse! Why'd they come back?!”

Just then, Zitrey was also furious while repeatedly saying 'get down'.
