SHELDON.
The elevator in the hotel seemed to be taking forever to get me to the floor where the room was. Mr. Morgan changed the venue to an entirely distant hotel and I knew it was because he didn't want his son to show up again.
It's insane how he still wants to keep doing this despite being caught. Unless he really didn't give a damn in the first place.
Since he's adamant about keeping this up, I don't think Denzel's plan with me should hinder me from doing my job.
I wanted to do this.
The elevator doors parted ways eventually and I stepped out in a short skirt and strapless top. Not sure what inspired this look but I definitely want him to feel like he is going to miss a lot during tomorrow's dinner.
I spotted the room number engraved on the door and using the key the receptionist gave me, I went in.
He hasn't arrived yet, leaving the enclosed space in complete silence.
I was about to turn on some music when someone suddenly rushed into the room and locked the door.
I freaked out and spun around to see Denzel dressed in a black suit. It didn't take a while to recognize him because of his unforgettable face and barging-in skills.
"Geez, you startled me! Denzel, what are you doing here?" I asked finding it amusing that he pops up everywhere.
He wore a hard gaze like I had done something wrong. But his choice to remain silent was what I didn't want. I had a client for peace's sake who would be here any minute.
"What? Is my outfit too breathtaking for you?" I teased.
"No, that's not it. I should be the one asking you why you're here."
"I'm here to meet a client," I answered confidently. "If you want to spend some time with me, you'd have to book another night. Now that I've given you an answer, why are you here?"
"I'm here to stop you from ruining the plan. You can't keep meeting my father behind closed doors. It's against the contract."
I scoffed shaking my head. "He was my client before you. Why should this 'plan' interfere with me satisfying my customers?"
He rolled his eyes like I asked the most ridiculous thing ever. But I still needed an explanation from him so he had to give me one;
"It doesn't make sense if you're going to show up tomorrow as my fiancé right after you've fucked him. He'd think it's a joke because he can still have you anytime and any day."
"You'll have to compensate me for ruining another meeting I'm supposed to have with my client," I said giving up on seeing Mr. Morgan again.
"I've paid you for all this. If only you read the contract, you wouldn't have agreed to come here."
I blame myself for rushing into this deal just because of the amount of money involved. Unfortunately, I don't regret it so far.
"Okay, since we are both here. What do you want as a little reward for saving my ass?" I drawled going closer to him. I've been curious about how he was on the inside—If he also has his cocky Father's bodily genes. "Do you want me to go down on you? I promise to swallow every drop."
My eyes were trained on his and I kept them locked on mine for as long as seconds could go. I wasn't used to biting or licking lips in a form of seducing men but I used my eyes as a portal to trap them.
"Maybe next time. We need to go before my father gets here. I have my men ready to delete the CCTV footage that captured your presence at the hotel." He coldly replied, turning away from me with his phone.
"That's just it? You can't even apologize for turning down an expensive offer?" I half yelled at him, feeling a bit offended that he was not moved by the desire for us to get laid.
"Why should I apologize? You're not my type. I don't even know why my dad can't get off of you." He stated and placed his phone on his ear.
"Let's have sex and maybe after that, you'll know!" I shot surly at him.
"Sheldon, you're so desperate to sleep with me but I'm not too interested. I promise I'll keep paying you without us getting physical during the whole process of the pretense."
I almost dragged out my wig with the need to clarify myself. "I'm not desperate to sleep with you. Don't misunderstand me, you rich punk."
"But you—"
He was about to clap back when the door knob twisted noisily from the other side of the door. Someone was trying to get in!
"Sheldon! You in there?" The voice of Mr. Morgan yelled from outside.
My eyes widened as I stared at Denzel. We've been busted. If his father sees us together, the plan is probably dead.
"What do we do?" I whispered to an unfazed Denzel and he simply tapped on the screen of his phone. Feeling him ignore me, I snatched the device from his hand so I could get his attention. He tried getting it back but I wasn't ready to return it. I slipped the phone into my bra making it stand at the tips of my nipples.
His face stirred in bewilderment but he couldn't do anything about it.
"I asked you a question. What do we freaking do? He's right outside the door..."
Suddenly, the noise from the door knob stopped and I heard voices of someone else speaking to Mr. Morgan. I don't know the things they talked about but they exit the door together.
"Sounds like he's gone," I told Denzel while eavesdropping through the door.
"Always have a backup plan, Sheldon. I texted a friend of mine and she led him away. Can I have my phone back now?"
I reluctantly bought out the phone and handed it back to him.
"Never do that again or I won't hesitate to get it out myself." He warned while I scoffed.
"Never ignore me again because I do crazy things too."
He quietly unlocked the door and after making sure no one was outside, he dragged my ass out of the hotel. I'd call it dragging because he didn't even let me order anything from the expensive menu.
Later, I was sitting in his car with him driving me home. The ride was so quiet that I was starting to spend too much time staring at him. He didn't look once and his entire focus was glued to the road before him.
"So, do you have any girlfriend or ex?" I asked trying to start a conversation.
"The last time I dated someone was in high school. You?"
"I've been with a lot of guys and I eventually lost count."
He doesn't respond and sighed when we got into a traffic jam. I instantly pictured us moving to the back seat and getting frisky on his smooth leather seat.
"Stop staring." He said cutting off my imagination.
Then I guess I'll have to stare at something else then. I opened my side of the window despite the active air conditioner. I got some fresh air and gazed around the place until I was staring at a club down the road.
Hold on, that's Winter's club!
This means that these streets are filled with...my fellow bitches.
Just when I realized what this could mean and quickly tried rolling the window glass back up, one of them showed up.
Darn it.
"Sheldon! Babe! What are you doing in this nice ass car." Tessa greeted biting a piece of gum in her mouth.
I made a faux smile trying to hide how uncomfortable I was at this point. This feels like a deja vu. The last time Mr. Morgan and I were on these streets, two girls made us give them a lift to a hotel. I felt like crawling under a rock to die because they wouldn't just shut up.
"Can you please give us a ride straight ahead?" The other woman behind Tessa asked and I looked at Denzel since it wasn't my car.
He agreed with a nod although I couldn't tell how he was feeling about this.
"Oh my God, Sheldon, you and your client are the best!"
And just like that, the three of them hopped into the backseat. The traffic started moving bit by bit and I pulled the glass back up.
I keep screwing things up for myself. If only the glasses remained closed, I would have avoided this shit.
"He's so hot, Sheldon! You got such a cute guy." Tessa said giggling. I passed a stare at Denzel who was simply quiet.
"Yeah, they'd both make lovely babies." Another woman remarked.
I watched closely as his lip paused and he was no longer lighthearted.
Making babies must be off-topic for him.
"Yas, don't let this one go, baby! Make sure you both make this thing last." The other chipped in.
I chuckled nervously while sinking into my chair. Denzel glared at me when he had the chance. He didn't see this coming and it's all my fault.
We finally got to their destination and after naughty conversations about the various preferences of their top sugar daddies, the car suddenly feels so sinful and Tessa kept blabbing about the men who owe her. Just when they were done getting out of the car, Denzel zoomed off without wasting a second more.
"They're so funny, right?" I chuckled.
He rolled his eyes before whispering, "Yes but I don't understand why one of them would give me this though." Slowly, he reached for the side pocket in his pants and grabbed something. He then, held it up in mid-air for me to see what it was.
I gasped when my eyes fell on what was before me—a dirty red thong.
This means one of them is interested in Denzel and trying to take him from me.
Without thinking twice, I grabbed it from Denzel and threw it out of the moving car after the glasses were lowered once again.
Take that back sneaky bitch.
"What the hell are you talking about?" She asked. I smirked. "That's for you to figure out. But watch out, you're in big trouble for your horrible habit. And Lena is going to be your last victim." "You're wrong. You're my last victim." She laughed out loud. Reaching for a little gas cylinder, she turned on the fire and placed the iron on it. "I'm going to clear your doubts, I promise... Since you're so confident and not even remorseful for what you've done." "You aren't either for all you've done. I don't fear you." I stated. I won't give her the satisfaction of watching me cower in fear. "Let's see if you'll still stand strong by the time I'm done. You'll learn a few lessons and know your place." "Who the heck do you think you are?" I yelled, glaring at her.She picked up the iron and came for me. I kicked my feet and she dodged it. "No!" I yelled and kicked my body hire to hurt her and prevent her from subduing me. "I thought you don't fear me. Hold still!" I laughed painf
"I'm going to call the police," Denzel said but I stopped him. I had to think fast and use this opportunity for my benefit. "Don't call the police. There's nothing much they can do without any leads. I will get to the bottom of this myself." "You know who did this?" His face dulled in confusion. "It's Morgan. Your father. He has every reason to hurt me. I've been hurting him for the past months. It's his turn I suppose." I was blatant in revealing my thoughts."My father? Do you think he's that dangerous to hire an assassin? You could have been dead by now." He examined.I guess he doesn't entirely detest the man.I chuckled. "It's a clumsy job. I think he's only trying to scare me." He blinked twice, observing me like I was a completely different person. "Why aren't you suspecting my mother? She's the only trouble we all know." "She has no beef with me. Not yet. But your father, right from the moment we said we were marrying each other, he loathed me. And he's helpless because y
I was quiet. Awfully quiet as Denzel and Hunter did all the talking. They wanted to set things right and repair the damages. Despite understanding their motive, I felt like they were wasting their time. The deed has been done. I was shattered and broken. Thoughts of my poor mom wrapped around my mind. By the time Denzel was done speaking, Lena was crying. And for some reason, I was not moved by her tears. Although, I noticed how she couldn't control herself. Rehan held her, his head bowed in shame."I'm so sorry. I was threatened. I didn't know what to do. Raven is powerful. I couldn't stand against her. So, I lied and covered everything up." Lena said when she caught her breathe. "How could you let her do that to you? Burn you like you weren't human. How on earth did it happen?" "It was a year ago. We were both at a conference. She drugged me and did that to me. When I received consciousness, she pretended like she had no clue what was going on. Eventually she confessed and said
"Sheldon, what's going on?" He asked holding my head."You are aware of what your mom did to my mother, aren't you. She was maltreated by your family and you kept it a secret. Why?" I questioned, staring at him helplessly. "I couldn't tell you. The moment I found out, I wished I didn't. Because I knew it would hurt you deeply.""You're hurting me now, genius!" I pulled away from him. "Guess what? I met Raven some hours ago and she handed me some money and I accepted it. I'm such a fool. I'm selling myself short to the monster who hurt my mother." "Don't overthink this, Sheldon. You've done nothing wrong." He soothed. My eyes squeezed shut, picturing my mom's disappointed face. I hurt her too many times when she was alive, now that she's late, I'm hurting her more. When would I learn to do better? Clutching onto my bag, I went into my bedroom and bawled my eyes out. I came to the conclusion that I needed to get rid of Mrs. Raven. She's a monster who doesn't deserve to live. I'm s
We were on our way. Taking an early flight to Tokyo. Hunter had it all figured out since he knew where the woman was staying. A three-star hotel in a rural area. Likely, she was laying low after what she did. The puzzle was a tough one to fix but there was no backing down. We reached the hotel, it looked old and low maintenance. Hunter was able to get through the poor reception and didn't mind sharing the details of their guests. We headed up to the third floor and I was relieved the elevator worked perfectly fine. On getting to her room, I grabbed Hunter's arm. His jaw went slack."Any problem? You can't do this?" He asked."What do you mean? Are you expecting me to screw up the mission? I only wanted to remind you that she's a female. You can't just enter her bedroom." I thundered. The corner of his mouth turned up. "Trust me, that won't be a problem. As long as it's the both of us, she'll be fine, alright?" "No, let me go in first." I insisted, walking ahead of him. I reached t
Out of all the moments for Denzel to go on the vacation he had been planning for, it had to be the moment I got dragged into a legal battle. Lena was getting ready to sue me and all I had to think about was the right color of bathing suit that would match my polished nails as I took a swim at the large pool behind the house. I was insane. But I'd blame Denzel who prepared all this. We were in his aunt's house. Another paradise on its own. Funny enough, his aunt wasn't related to the family. She was his high school teacher who he grew fond of. The way his eyes glowed whenever she wanted to have a conversation with him, confirmed how much he valued her. The teacher had retired and had her ten-year-old granddaughter running around the house whenever she visited. This side of the world was peaceful. I saw life in its purest form every morning I woke up from my bedroom. I saw a lot of smiles, received a lot of care, and of course, the amazing French accent I heard all around me. I didn'
