Chapter 4: Demon's Contract

“Luna!!!!!!”

Brown shouted and he headed down the stairs where he and the nurse demon had just passed. But strangely, the stairs seemed to stretch endlessly and Brown could not find the way out. The more Brown tried to run, the more he returned to the starting position. Dr. Brown looked down at the courtyard, he saw the nurse demon slowly approaching Luna. Brown's heart was on fire, he shouted in hopes that Luna could hear it, but she couldn't hear his voice.

“This is the dreamscape I created; it is our past, present and also our future. Dr. Brown, don't worry, I won't harm your Luna, if you can become my husband!"

“Damn it! If you dare touch a hair of hers, I will definitely turn you back to dust. Don't make me do evil!" Brown growled.

This is the dream scene born from the demon's mind, the resentment and the nostalgia that the demon creates. If you want to neutralize the dream, you must find the vitality in each scene created by the devil. But what is the key of life?

"Edga, you're here!" came the voice behind Brown, a voice both familiar and unfamiliar to Brown, "I've been looking for you forever, wait until after the shift, we'll eat together, okay? !”

The nurse named Edga turned around, she looked at the guy and smiled fondly, “Oh Brownie, the people at the hospital will know we're dating! You're not careful at all."

Brown began to realize, before he used his identity as Doctor Brown to take care of Luna, that Doctor Brown was actually the boyfriend of the demon nurse Edga. The trouble was when he came here, the nurse named Edga had died in a traffic accident. According to what she said, she was murdered by her fiancé; of course her fiancé was not Dr. Brown, but another man. Brown feels like an invisible person, he quietly observes the story of the life of nurse Edga.

“Brownie, the dean's son arrived today. He had a very serious traffic accident, but the operating room was full.” Edga is worried, she confides in her boyfriend.

"I've looked over the director's son, maybe I'll tell Professor Miller and move some patients who don't need urgent surgery!" Dr. Brown suggested, he gently kissed his lover's cheek and said softly, "If the dean's son is successfully saved, his career will surely take a big step forward. Edga, I have loved you for a long time, sacrificed a lot for you, but you can't make up for it. Now, the opportunity has come and you will definitely be on Professor Miller's operating team."

The image was transferred to the operating room, where everything gradually became extremely messy. Professor Miller is trying to save the patient but lacks blood type AB RH-; this is a rare blood type and obviously the hospital does not have enough blood to supply the surgery.

"I need more blood, quickly go and ask if anyone has the same blood type as the patient?" Professor Miller kept urging, the patient's blood pressure was dropping and the situation was getting worse, "Hurry up, we don't have time, the patient won't take it anymore!"

“AB RH-, where can I find that rare blood type now? The director has a history of liver problems, so he can't donate blood, and we don't have time to find someone with matching blood samples." The head nurse at the surgical team spoke up.

“Do we let the patient die like that?” Professor Miller was angry, he growled.

“In our hospital, there is a nurse named Edga, she has blood type AB RH-; We can ask her for a quick donation!” Dr. Brown spoke, and the entire surgical team turned their eyes to him.

"Hurry up!" Professor Miller urged.

The surgery seems to have been a success. The scene changed again and it was now the VIP hospital room, where the director's son was lying. Because she had donated blood to the dean's son in an emergency, nurse Edga was assigned to take care of the dean's son. Her position at the hospital was also higher, everyone who looked at her felt admiration. Nurse Edga seems to have taken a step into the clouds, as long as the director's son has no problems, after he is discharged from the hospital, she can be promoted to head nurse. This is a position that took many years for Edgar to get.

“Edga…Edga….Aren't you busy these days?” Dr. Brown said, his voice a little sad, "I know I've been taking care of the dean's son lately, very busy, but just recently, I received a message from Professor Miller and found out that he is the son. The director's son is getting better, you don't have to worry too much."

"Brownie, there's something I want to tell you..." Nurse Edga said, her voice slightly faltering, "Two days ago, the dean's son, Mr. Thomas, just confessed to me. He is grateful that you saved his life in a critical time, so he wants to marry you. It's not his fault, Brownie. I know it's my fault, but while taking care of Thomas, I accidentally fell in love with him. He is a wonderful person!”

"You want to break up with me?" Dr. Brown said. He seemed to understand the heart of the girl standing in front of him, what better than the person lying in the VIP hospital room. He was just the son of an ordinary farmer, he didn't have much money, nor did he have a position. Edgar loves him but doesn't get any benefit.

“Brownie… I mean…”

Dr. Brown smiled in reality, he knew why nurse Edga felt regretful. If that year Egda hadn't been engaged to the abbot's son, Thomas; maybe now she has a happy life and doesn't have to become a wandering demon girl.

"You’re not a Brownie!" The female demon suddenly spoke up, "You have his face, his everything, but you're not him."

“You soon knew that I was not the Brownie you had been waiting for. That's why you wanted to lure me in to confirm." Brown said sternly.

"Who are you? Why do you have the same face as Brownie? Why are you infiltrating this hospital? Could it be that Brownie was…” The female demon made every horrible sound, but she didn't shed a single tear. Brown felt uncomfortable with this shrill sound, he frowned slightly and covered his ears.

“In this world, what I hate most is the cry of a girl, especially the cry of a demon girl. That's right, I'm not Dr. Brown, and I'm not your Brownie. I also have no interest in the love story of the two of you, so if you touch someone I care about, you should determine that your front is the road of death and there is no chance of reincarnation.” Dr. Brown threatened.

“Are you a magician or a pastor. Are you the demon slayer that everyone talks about? There are no demon's aura on your body, and you're not human either. After all, what are you?" The female demon saw Brown's face and started to get a little scared.

“I am something you should be afraid of.”

Dr. Brown waved his hand, the entire wall on either side began to crack, the ground began to shake. The female demon nurse used her hands, trying to resist a huge amount of power that was coming. Dr. Brown didn't seem to care about the female demon, he slowly approached her side casually as if he wasn't afraid of the demon in front of him. Brown used one hand and then grabbed the female demon's neck and lifted her up.

“Please spare my life. I don't know you are a magician, if I know you are a magician I will definitely not disrespect you, I just want to know if my Brownie is still alive or not? I will definitely not harm Miss Luna." The demon woman begged for forgiveness in pain.

“I like your hatred. The man who betrayed you, do you feel pain when you see him happy with the guest woman? The smell of your hatred makes me strong. If you agree to make a contract with me, I will give you the power to take revenge, there is no need to exist in such a precarious way." Dr. Brown smiled wickedly, seeming to feel he had found a great profit.

“Are you really not going to kill me?” The demon woman is weak, whispering.

“That's right, Edgar. I feel that you are very hurt, because the person you love lost your life. Edga, contract with me, I give you the power to avenge, or else you will die here and your soul will become my food."

“Luna!”

The scream made Luna feel like she had grabbed a lifebuoy. Luna realized something was wrong with the nurse, but Luna's legs hadn't been able to walk for so long that she couldn't do anything about it. She was panicking when she heard someone scream.

“Luna, why are you here!”

As Will, he was wearing a blouse that had turned yellow. His face was a little worried as he looked at his sister.

“Will, why are you here? How did you find me? And who was the nurse just now?"

Thousands of questions were raised in Luna's mind, she was both panicking and panicking. She didn't know which question she should ask first, so she asked the same question every time she thought of it.

“Which nurse? I only see you here alone?" Will patted Luna's head, "I got off work and came over to your room. Everyone said Dr. Brown took you down to the yard for a walk. I ran down to look but still couldn't find you, ran to this place and see you."

“There was a nurse earlier, she said she would take me to my room. But the more I go, the more strange this road becomes, it doesn't look like the way to the room at all." Luna recounted the incident.

“Yeah, this is not your room. You see the sign up front? It's a morgue, where the bodies of dead patients are kept."

Luna shivered slightly, she didn't expect that if she went any further, she would actually go to the morgue. Luna also realized that the nurse at this time was a bit ghostly, her appearance really did not look like a human. And if it was a human, who would push a living patient into a morgue.

“Brown, where is Dr. Brown? I remember earlier, that nurse said that his patient had a pneumothorax and needed emergency care. But Dr. Brown stopped working on the general surgery department three months ago, now he's on the neurosurgery department." Luna asked worriedly.

"Luna..."

In the distance, the figure of a familiar man appeared. It's Dr. Brown. He nervously ran over to where Luna and Will were standing and gave her a gentle hug.

"Are you alright?" Dr. Brown asked hastily. Luna just smiled and shook her head.

“Where did you go? Isn't my sister taking care of you?" Will asked seriously, his expression a bit tense.

“It was my mistake, Professor Miller. It was a patient mistake.” Dr. Brown explained. "I won't let this happen again."

“You know what I mean, don't you, Brown? I wish Professor Allen could have assigned another doctor but not you. You was just a novice in neurosurgery, but Luna's illness was a difficult one and required someone with a lot of experience to handle it. Professor Allen has put too much trust in someone like you." Will was angry, reprimanded. During these three months, Will always looked at Brown with a somewhat hostile look, for some reason Will felt that Brown was an extremely dangerous person and this would be bad if his sister was too exposed. much with Dr. Brown.

“I think Dr. Brown is very good. Thanks to him, during these three months, all my health indicators are very good. If there is nothing to worry about, Professor Allen will discharge me from the hospital next month. It's thanks to Dr. Brown's good care." Luna smiled, rubbing her brother's hand, hoping he wasn't too nervous.

Will looked at Dr. Brown with annoyed eyes, he didn't like the pretense of Dr. Brown, much less wanted Brown to be too close to his sister. Luna also seems to realize that her brother doesn't like Dr. Brown, so she can only smile to relieve her stress.

"It's okay, I'm fine! Can we go back to the room? Right now I feel very sleepy. I can't doze off in a wheelchair, can I?"

The three of them looked at each other. Will and Brown also said nothing, the three of them went to their room together. The atmosphere of the ward was a little more oppressive when Will and Brown were present in the room. Until now, Will has always looked at Dr. Brown, and as for Brown, he only focused on taking care of Luna to see if she was warm enough. Waiting for Luna to fall asleep, the two quietly left the room.

"You should quit and you don't become Luna's main doctor. I will find another doctor with more experience.” Will suggested.

"I've been following Luna for more than three months, all of her illnesses, I know well, who is more suitable than me?" Dr. Brown replied coldly, "Professor Miller, I know you're worried about Luna. Me too, so if we have the same goal, there's no reason for me to harm her."

"I'm not talking about whether you harmed Luna or not? I'm sure you won't harm her. However, the people around you aren't like that, I'm afraid you won't be able to protect my sister..."
