Chapter 9: Confrontation

I can almost hear crickets. The silence in the room became almost palpable. The tension was thick, the only sounds being the soft hum of the air conditioner and the occasional rustle of papers.

“Stop being flirty to my employees.” Nagulat ako sa biglaan niyang pag basag sa katahimikan na namumuo, pero mas nagulat ako sa kanyang binitawang mga salita.

“Yes, Ms. Forbes.They can't focus doing their work if patuloy ka sa mga pinaggagawa mo.”Diretso niyang sabi na halos ikapunit ng labi ko.

His words hit me like a punch in the gut. I hadn't realized that my interactions with Jeffrey had been causing a disturbance. I was simply trying to get my work done, and Jeffrey had been kind enough to help.
