Chapter 66

Hayden's P.O.V.

"Who wants to take shots!" Ellie exclaimed.

"I am good," Millie said. She winced. Not a fan of alcohol, I guess. My good girl, I smirked as I thought to myself.

The others voted yes. "Hayden?" Ellie waved the bottle of tequila at me then poured some into a cup.

"Sure, I guess," I nodded in agreement. I started to drink early because I was the family's black sheep, so I was used to it.

"Oh, come on Millie, stop being a goody-two-shoes and join us," Jacob said.

"She said she doesn't want to, so don't pressure her," I said and wrapped my arms around her protectively.

She put her head on my shoulder and snuggled up close to me. I held her hand and gently squeezed it reassuringly.

We were at Ellie's grandfather's beach house, and everyone decided to gather around in the living room.

Ellie poured tequila into shot glasses and passed it on to the rest of us.

"I think I am gonna turn in," Millie
