Vine walked into Nate's office wondering what could have made him call for her.

As soon as he saw her, he smiled, standing up from his desk and completely forgetting whatever work he had.

“Hey." He opened his arms for a hug, and Vine stayed put, not returning his smile or enthusiasm.

“What's wrong? Clare trouble again?"

“No," she walked past him, “You nearly got me into trouble today."

“I had no idea!" Nate tried to defend himself.

Vine knew that there was no way he could have known that Clare was there, but she just didn't like that they almost got exposed.

“Well, since I meant it when I said I didn't want to marry Clare, I was thinking that maybe I'd get a definite answer on whether you wanted to marry me."
