Dark mentioned something..... He said the lady has an injured arm and he gave a description of her looks.” she paused staring at me.

Dara is smart, no way she hasn't figured it out yet.

The moonlight glow was very bright, enough to see the expression on Dark's face.

Doesn't he feel it? My brows furrowed, confused. He just stood there staring, no movement, no sign he felt the mate bond.

I waited a minute, then another before finally admitting it to myself. I was the only one who felt it. But why?

Thinking of it another way, maybe that worked in my favor. I sighed inwardly with a faint smile.

If Dark felt the bond, he'd know who I am. That would be a disaster.

Besides, Dark was getting a chosen mate tomorrow. This bond would mean nothing once he marks her. I stared at him where he stood, still unaware of me.

I turned to leave before he noticed. But then, he bent toward the ground in a strange way.

He groaned like he was fighting something inside. His body trembled. A deep snarl tore fr

BLUE MOON PACKAlpha Killian's POV“Come in.”Beta Nightfury walked in with a bow.I sat in front of the desk in my office with Caleb standing behind me.Nightfury glanced at him briefly before turning to me.“Alpha Killian, you were right. Those men you encountered were from Dark's territory.”My eyes stayed glued to the paper in my left hand while I tapped my finger on the table.I squeezed the paper and stood up, walking over to Beta Nightfury.“Why would Dark concern himself with other packs?”“My suspicions are perhaps the eastern packs pleaded for help from him,” Nightfury said.I shook my head and turned my back to him. “I doubt that. The eastern packs are too weak and scared to stand before Dark.” I paused, deep in thought for a moment. “But they definitely had help from Dark, so how was that possible?” I turned and slammed my fist against the table, making Caleb jerk in fear.“Alpha Killian,” a calm voice called from behind, and I turned to see Lilliana standing there with a

Selene's POV“Throwing away my cover, you say? What if I get recognized?”“That’s actually true, but we have no choice right now." Dara said, her tone tense. "Dark might go on a rampage—he's totally furious and... he’s been asking for you."My heart skipped a beat.“But you don’t have to worry." She added quickly. "I told him you were sick.”I smiled briefly with a nod. “Let me get changed, then.”“Selene,” Silas called, stepping forward with a folded letter. “Lady Havana asked me to give you this.”Already knowing what it would entail, I took the letter and dropped it on the bed.“We’ll head to the hall. You just dress up quickly and meet us there,” Dara said, and I nodded again.I changed into a plain gown and tied on a mask, hiding my face. After breathing in deeply, I walked out. There were no men patrolling the area; they must've all gathered in the hall.Just as I thought, the letter stated Lady Havana’s concern regarding the task she had given me. I am Sal, a personal assistant to Dark,” I introduced.“Sal?” she called. “So you are the Sal.”“Excuse me, ma’am, but this our first time meeting.” I looked at her, confused.“How were you able to defeat him?" she muttered in a low tone. "I always knew that man was a weakling,” she rolled her eyes.“I heard of one Sal who helped one of the Eastern Packs during the attack with Blue Moon. So what they said was true, but you look small for a man with such honours.”I grinned. “You don’t judge a book by its cover.”She scoffed. “Nice. But I’ll soon be the lady of this territory.” She shrugged with that arrogant look. “We would have to be in good terms from now on. Besides, you’ll be answering to me too.” She flaunted her fingers right in my face, showing a white, shining emerald ring.“I got this from Lady Hava

Selene POVI learned that pain doesn’t come from the claws or the fangs of hungry predators. It doesn’t come from the cold stares of the pack nor from the cold night pressing in around me. No, true pain is betrayal. And right now, it’s staring right at me in the face.“Selene Blackwood, you are accused of treason against Blue moon Pack,” my mate, Alpha Killian, said, his voice cold.I raised my head to look at him. The eyes that once looked at me with affection now hold nothing but ice. My body froze in place. This isn’t happening. I shook my head refusing to believe what he just said.“Treason? Killian, you know I would never—”“Silence!” He said abruptly, sending shivers down my spine. “You were found meeting with rogues beyond our borders. What other reason would you have, if not plotting against your pack?” he glared at me and I swallowed hard.I looked around to see the pack members all with hatred written on their faces. I shook my head, “That’s not true,” I said, “I would nev

Selene POV The rogue stepped into view — tall, lean, his dark hair rough and unkempt. His clothes were ragged, but he looked relaxed, as if he had been watching me for a while.“Didn’t think a Luna could last the night out here alone,” he said, his voice low and rough.I wondered how he knew about my identity and just like he seemed to have read my thoughts, he grinned. “Heard information about a Luna lurking in the woods alone and thought to come take a look.’I stiffened, memories of that day replaying in my head. “I’m not Luna anymore.”His gaze flickered to my wrists, where the faint burns from the silver still showed. As a werewolf, a mark is left as an identification for those banished or exiled. He nodded in understanding, “Ah. Banished." He tilted his head. “What’s the crime?”I didn’t answer. Not like I owe him anything. He chuckled. “Fair enough. My name’s Riven.”I hesitated. Giving my name felt dangerous, but it was pointless to hide.“Selene.”Riven nodded, stepping clos

Selene POV They fully accepted me into their small group, taking me as one of them. Dara apologized for referring to me as a stray. She narrated her experience with other pack wolves and I wouldn't blame her if she had still refused to take me in.Riven was relentless, pushing me beyond my limits. Every morning, before the sun even broke through the trees, he forced me into drills — striking, dodging, countering. If I hesitated, he knocked me down. If I make mistakes, he makes me start over.“Pack life makes you soft,” he said after slamming me into the dirt for the third time that day. His breath was steady, while mine was ragged. "Out here, you have to be sharper, faster. You can't hesitate. Else you die.” He kept using the word, die, like it's some kind of situation he often encounters.I spat blood and dirt from my mouth and stood up, “I am not soft.”He smirked. “Then, prove it.”So I did.Day by day, I learned to move faster, to strike harder, to anticipate rather than react.

I never expected to care about the world I left behind. For weeks, I had only focused on surviving. I had buried my past, forced myself to forget the pack that betrayed me, the mate who cast me aside like I was nothing. But now, as I stood in the middle of our camp, staring at a broken and bloody scout from my former pack, I realized I hadn’t left it all behind.Because Killian wasn’t finished. It started with the scent of an outsider. The moment it reached us, Riven was on his feet, he looked tense as he scanned the trees. Dara already had a dagger in her hand, and Silas melted into the shadows, ready to strike if needed.I didn’t react right away. I had learned patience, learned to watch before acting. The scent was familiar. And when the figure stumbled into view, his face pale from exhaustion, my fist clenched.Caleb.He was younger than me, barely an adult, but I had seen him run errands for Killian’s top warriors. He was one of them.I was on him before he could react, slamming

  • The chosen luna   Chapter 24

Selene's POV The mate selection, such an interesting time of the year as I've heard the men talk about.Dark's men were more like soldiers; they trained and fought, having little time for women. Then, his mother brought up the suggestion of inviting every maiden around for a grand bouquet once a year. It worked, and most of Dark’s men found their mates in this bouquet. But for Dark, it was different. He never found a mate.I sat before Dara and Silas. Riven had gone to see Dark after he was called. Luckily, I arrived just in time—right when Jaxon was about to pass a sentence on the three of them. Jaxon was about to have me caught, and just then, Dark walked in and saved me.Throughout the night, I explained to Dara, Silas, and Riven that nothing had transpired between Dark and me. I couldn’t tell them about Dark’s strange behavior. I only said he got injured, and curiosity had led me to follow him. The story was hard to piece together, especially with the questions they threw at me,

Dark’s POVSal entered the water with me. At first, he was reluctant, staring at me like something forbidden.“Aren’t you going to take your bath too?”“No, I won’t. I’ll just wait till I return to my room. I’m okay this way.” He forced a smile, one I could clearly see didn’t reach his eyes.A few hours later, after eating the little fruit Sal had plucked from the trees around, and then the meat he had caught and we roasted—He was very good at hunting. I’ll give him that.Night came. He sat a few meters away from me, just staring into the sky.“You didn’t ask what made me go rogue a day ago,” I muttered.“It’s not in my position to ask questions. I am merely your assistant and nothing more.”I scoffed at his reply. He was obviously being sarcastic right now. “Even your words sound like you’re pushing yourself not to ask. Your left arm—was I the one?”He covered the arm with his palm, looking downward.“I hope it leaves a mark, for you to always remember never to step closer next time

Selene's POVSo soft.I twirled to a comfortable position and hummed in satisfaction. He smelt warm, the kind of scent that made you want to lean in without meaning to. My eyelids opened slowly, and I almost screamed at the sight before me.Dark was looking straight at me, and my head was resting on his chest. I blinked profusely—perhaps it was just a bad dream.“You seemed to have had a nice sleep,” he grinned.Embarrassment hit me hard. It definitely was reality and not a dream. My head was fucking resting on Dark's chest.I felt like the ground should split open in two and swallow me whole.Quickly, I arranged my hair and fake mustache. I hoped I didn't snore and neither did he figure out anything.“You seem to enjoy sleeping on a man, Sal.”I shook my head in response and stood up, bowing halfway. “I am sorry for any inconveniences caused. I must've fallen asleep after the stress last night.”I had no idea if the last part was necessary, but Dark had actually stressed me. I could

Selene POVDark suddenly asked everyone out. I had thought it was one of his crazy sides. Although, it was my first time seeing him that scary.Dark had ordered me to leave after asking where I came from.Sighs. I can't tell him anything, and besides, I'm still under a fake identity. We waited outside behind the door for minutes. No sound from inside, and neither was he coming out. No one wanted to go in—everyone was scared. For their lives.I glanced at the guards and Dark's few men, but the moment our eyes met, they diverted their gaze.I decided to go in—something kept pushing me to go.I pushed open the door and peeped through. Then, I saw someone leaving the palace through another door behind his chair.I recognized it was Dark from his back. I rushed after him, taking the same path as him. Who would believe there is a secret passage inside Dark's palace? But why has he come here? Does he secretly visit somewhere? My brows furrowed and I wiped the bead of sweat from my face.I mo
