Lucy's pov

The sunlight cutting through the curtains was blinding. I groaned and turned over, my eyes opened slowly, the golden boy of the school was lying right next to me and it was so real to be true. In between my legs aches, reminding me of my decision last night.

He opened his eyes and it widened in shock. “What the fuck!” He exclaimed. Jumped out of the bed and started putting on his clothes that were scattered all over the room.

‘'Who the hell are you?” he asked, looking at me like dirt.

“You..we…” I stammered. My voice trembled.

“Look, you see this?” His hand moved between us. “This was a mistake. I was drunk last night and…”

He was cut half way when he saw the blood stains on the bed. It now dawned on him that he deflowered me.

“Like I was saying, “ he continued. “Last night never happened, and if you say a word.. just one word to anybody, I will make your life a living hell. Do you understand!”

I nodded, trembling.

He covered his nose with a mask and pulled a cap over his head before storming out of the room.

I really thought last night with him was worth it. I wrapped the duvet around me, holding it so tight,as tears welled down my cheeks. This is not how I imagined my first night to be.

“Who would even believe me if I dare say it? The ugly duckling and the hottest guy in school. I rather keep it to myself and stay out of trouble.” I said to myself.

My phone began to buzz, it was Susan. I wiped my eyes and answered on the second ring. “Where are you? I've been calling your line!”

“I’ll meet you in school,” I said quickly and hung up. She called again, but I didn't pick up.

By the time I got home, showered and changed, I told myself I could pretend it never happened. I'd just act normal.

But when I got to school, whispers had already begun.

“Did Richard really sleep with her?”

“It’s not possible. How can he settle for this ugly bitch out of all the beautiful girls in this college?”

Everywhere I went, people laughed behind my back. I don't know how they all knew about this. Did someone see us enter that room last night?

My heart pounded as I walked faster, pretending not to hear.

By the time I reached my classroom, I was already shaking. But it was another torture for me, especially from the sassy queens.

I think coming to school today was a bad idea.

“So” one of them said, crossing her arms, “You're now Richard's sex toy huh.”

They all laughed.

“Shut up,” Richard said loudly.

For one second, I thought he wanted to defend me, but then his next words crushed that hope.

“I have taste and class. You really think I’d touch this ugly girl? Look at her. She’s pathetic.”

The whole class went silent, then laughter erupted.

“And you!” he added, glaring straight at me, “stop spreading lies about what never happened before I make you regret.”

He turned and stormed out.

The silence didn't last long. They all began to laugh, even much louder this time.

A crumpled paper hit my shoulder. “You heard him,” a guy said. “You are so pathetic and ugly.”

I couldn't say a word to defend myself.

Susan appeared like a storm. “ Even if it's true, so what? What's your business?” she snapped, glaring at everyone.

I don't know if I should feel better or not because of her actions. I'm already ashamed of myself.

She grabbed my bag. “Let's get out of here.” she said, dragging me out of the classroom.

As we stepped outside, the noise of laughter followed us till we were out of sight.

On our way home, something inside me broke. I just slipped from her grasp and ran straight into the middle of the road.

“Lucy!” She screamed.

A car was coming forth, horn blaring, but before it could hit me, Susan pushed me out of the way.

We both fell hard on the floor painting but she was furious. “What was that for! Do you want to get killed?”

Tears poured down my cheeks. “You could have left me there to die, what is left of me?”

“Lucy…”

I'm fucking tired!” I shouted. “I'm tired of all this humiliation.”

She knelt beside me, pulling me into a tight hug. “I can't let you do such to yourself.” She said,

She helped me up and waved down a cab.

When we got home, Susan went straight to the kitchen and returned with two cups of coffee. She placed one in front of me.

“Now, let's talk,” she said gently. “What really happened last night? I came back after dancing and I couldn't find you. You weren't picking your calls either. Then this morning, all these rumors about you and Richard started flying around.”

I stared at the mug for a long time before whispering, “The rumors are true.”

Her eyes widened. “What? How?”

I took a deep breath and narrated everything that happened. From the spilled drink to the room upstairs, the sex part and the hurtful words he said to me. I began to cry again.

When I was done, she didn’t speak for a while. She just wrapped her arms around me.

“It really hurts more, watching him say all that to me in front of everybody.”

“Shhhhh it's okay, I'm here now.” She whispered, parting my back and rubbing my hair.

I raised my head with tears in my eyes. “Susan, You've been a good friend to me since high school but I can't go back there anymore. I'm tired of this constant bullying and you can't keep fighting for me all the time.”

“But I'm not complaining.” She said, “You're my best friend.

“I know you are not but I'm just tired of everything. I can't continue like this, I might end doing something crazy.”

“It's okay, we'll go through this together.” She assured me.

Her words and shoulder were comforting but it didn't stop the tears welling down my cheeks.

There and then, I determined to be a better vision of myself no matter what it takes.

Lucy’s POVTwo days. That was all it took for my sleep to vanish and my sketch pad to overflow with new ideas. My fingers ached from hours of sketching, erasing, and stitching dreams into fabric. My next fashion showcase was only a few days away, and I wanted every thread, every fold, every silhouette to speak about something unique. The backstage area was alive with energy– fabrics rustling, zippers snapping, the scent of hairspray and perfume mixing with adrenaline. Susan was beside me, as always, pinning a loose strap on one of the models while barking directions at the makeup team.“Jenna, be careful with that gown!” she warned, pointing sharply. “If that sequined thread breaks, I’ll personally make you sew it back in the dark!”I couldn’t help but laugh softly, adjusting the hem of a flowing ivory dress. “Easy, Sussy. You’ll scare them before they hit the runway.”“They should be scared,” she said, tossing me a grin. “We’re representing Lucy Couture. We don’t do average here.”I

Five years laterLucy’s POVThe flash of cameras nearly blinded me as I stepped out of my black SUV.“Miss castle! Over here, please!”“Lucy castle! One smile for Vogue!”I turned slightly, offering them a small, practiced smile. Every step I took was poised and composed. Lucy's povEverybody was talking about the prom party that will hold tonight. I could hear the four sassy queens' conversation loud and clear. “Girls, we are going shopping after school! One announced.“Yes girl! I totally agree with you. We need to show up hot, like very hot!” The other girl said and they gave each other a high five.“We're gonna turn heads tonight and rock them boys” the other said, whining her waist in demonstration.I was just focused on the book I was reading, pretending not to hear them. “Hey ugly,” one of them called out. “Hope you are not planning to show up tonight.”I pushed back my glasses that were falling off my nose and continued reading. One of them walked to my desk, grabbed my book and dropped it to the floor. “You don't ignore beauty like us.” She said, titling her head smugly. She continued “have you gotten a prom date? Oops, I forgot. Nobody will want an ugly duckling like you to be their date.”They all laughed chorally. Just then my best fri
