Lucy's pov
Everybody was talking about the prom party that will hold tonight. I could hear the four sassy queens' conversation loud and clear. “Girls, we are going shopping after school! One announced. “Yes girl! I totally agree with you. We need to show up hot, like very hot!” The other girl said and they gave each other a high five. “We're gonna turn heads tonight and rock them boys” the other said, whining her waist in demonstration. I was just focused on the book I was reading, pretending not to hear them. “Hey ugly,” one of them called out. “Hope you are not planning to show up tonight.” I pushed back my glasses that were falling off my nose and continued reading. One of them walked to my desk, grabbed my book and dropped it to the floor. “You don't ignore beauty like us.” She said, titling her head smugly. She continued “have you gotten a prom date? Oops, I forgot. Nobody will want an ugly duckling like you to be their date.” They all laughed chorally. Just then my best friend Susan walked in. The only girl that saw beyond the ugly, plain girl everyone tagged me. She walked up to my desk. “Enough!” She barked at them, hitting her hand on the desk. “Your guard is here huh. Ugly bitch!” “Call her that one more time and you'll bleed through your nose.” Susan warned, stepping close to one that said it. She froze. She knew Susan meant every word she said, after their past encounter in high school, where she stood up for me after being humiliated by one of them in public. After that, we became friends and had been close ever since. She flung her hair and walked to the rest of her friends. I could hear them murmur. When they finally walked off, Susan turned to me.“Are you okay? Did they touch you?” She asked while scanning my body. “I'm fi….” My breath seized before I could finish. The school golden boy Richard Oxford just walked in. The cute and richest guy in college, with a well built body that made him look so hot. He is the captain of the basketball team and his leadership has good records. He is every girl's dream… Like literally all the girls in college want to be his girlfriend. One of the sassy girls rushed to him with a smile. “Hi Richy,” she said, twisting her hair. “Uhmm…can I be your prom date? I'm beautiful as you can see” she spinned round. “And classy too, so I fit in with your taste. What do you say?” Richard just looked at her, shook his head and walked right past her to his friends. Susan and I exchanged looks and burst out laughing. “That was lit.” Susan said in between laughs. I was happy to see her being humiliated. She can see how it feels. After class, Susan and I walked down the school hallway. “Have you gotten a prom date yet?” I asked. She smiled “I've gotten a lot of offers though but I declined it.” I stirred at her in surprise “why?” “Cause I have gotten a date already.” My brows furrowed. “Really? Who?” She smirked. “You, dummy.” I blinked, tears threatening to spill. “I love you Sussy.” I hugged her tight. She laughed. “You’re gonna choke me” We both laughed as I pulled away. At night, I dressed up in my favorite white gown that suits my body size and went to the mirror to look at myself but all I could see was the same plain and ugly Lucy. I heard my doorbell. It was Susan. She was putting a shiny blue gown. “Wow” she said, eyes wide. “You look stunning.” “Really? I thought….” “Shhhhhh” she cut me short. “Just believe me.” I smiled “thank you. You look more beautiful.” “Oh please,” she said, turning and giggling. “Thanks by the way.” “Shall we?” She said, holding out her arm. When we arrived at the party venue, I felt so nervous, I had to breathe in and out. I just don't want drama tonight from anyone but Susan assured me. “You are gonna be fine, trust me.” I just smiled. Someone walked up to Susan. “Can I have a dance with you?” She wanted to decline because of me, but I waved her off. “Go! I'll be fine.” I was now left alone but nobody would notice my ugly self. So I tried to disappear into the crowd. That's when someone bumped into me, spilling his drink on my white dress. Oh my God! Looking up, it was Richard. I melted in his blue eyes that pierced into my eyes. “Oh I am so sorry, pretty… I didn't mean to. Let's me help fix that.” Pretty? Did I hear him call me pretty? Before I could say a word, he grabbed my wrist. “Come on, I have a room reserved upstairs. You can change there.” “Here we are. Do you like it?” He asked, looking at me. I just nodded. “Now let's get you changed.” he came close to me, zipping down my gown. I froze. “Stop” I said “He whispered in my ears “relax baby, daddy is here.” I swallowed a gulp of spit. I wasn't thinking straight any more. I've been crushing on him for the longest, and right now, I want him as much as he wants me. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer, stirred into my eyes and the next thing I knew, his lips were pressed on mine. The kiss deepened the more. He pushed me to the bed and spread my thighs open and positioned his huge cock at my throbbing entrance. I was scared because I've never done it before but at the same time, I want him. Pain shot up my core, causing me to hold the bed sheet so tight when he slammed into me, breaking through my resistance. When he withdrew and pushed back in, I didn't feel any pain again. But erotic sensation. I've lost my virginity to Richard Oxford but I think he is worth it.Lucy’s POVThe moment I got home, Susan was already waiting for me by the entrance door. She was practically glued to her phone but noticed when I arrived. “Miss, I know what I’m doing,” she said, mimicking my voice in that exaggerated tone she always used right before delivering bad news. “Do you know what this is?” She asked, showing me her phone screen. “You’re trending all over the place.”I rolled my eyes, kicking off my heels by the door. I already knew. I’d felt my phone buzzing nonstop the entire ride home, and I hadn’t had the strength to look.“I’ll find a way to sort it out,” I said, trying to squeeze past her into the house. “I’ve had enough for one day. Can you at least let me in before you start crucifying me?”She stepped aside, though not without a dramatic sigh. “I had a plan for tonight. Wine, your favorite takeout, maybe a movie to celebrate surviving another showcase. I did not plan for my best friend to become a trending scandal by 9 p.m.”“Neither did I,” I mutt
Richard’s POVI held the steering wheel so tight my knuckles turned pale. My jaw was locked, and I could feel the tension climbing up into my temples. Beside me, Clara sat with her arms crossed, staring out the window like she was the one who’d been wronged tonight.“You have nothing to say?” I finally asked, my voice low and controlled.“About what?” She didn’t even turn to look at me.“About what?” I repeated, my voice rising in disbelief. “You hired someone to dig into Lucy’s past. You showed up uninvited to a private dinner. You embarrassed both of us in front of half the city and it’s already all over the internet.”“Private.” She let out a short, bitter laugh. “You mean quiet enough that no one would see you falling over your old college fling.”“It was a business dinner, Clara.”“Please.” She turned to face me now, her eyes blazing. “Richard, I saw the way you looked at her.”“However I look at her is none of your business!” I snapped.“None of my business?” Her voice was fille
Lucy’s POV“So, Lucy, you’ve decided to ruin my relationship, right?” Clara continued, her voice rising, deliberately loud enough for every table around us to hear.People were already recording. Phones angled toward us from every direction.“Young lady, stop embarrassing yourself. You’re attracting people’s attention here,” I said, keeping my voice low, hoping she’d have enough sense left to lower hers too.“And that’s exactly what I want,” she snapped, “since you refused to leave my fiancé alone.”“Clara, can you stop this madness!” Richard shouted, slamming his hand against the table hard enough to rattle the glasses.“Oh, you see what you’ve caused, Lucy.” Her eyes were wild now, tears gathering at the edges but never quite falling. “You jezebel. Turning my man against me.”I couldn’t say a word. My throat had closed around every sharp response I wanted to throw back at her. All I could do was scan the room, searching for a way to disappear from an atmosphere that had gone thick w
Lucy’s POV“Okay, fine,” I said.“What!” Susan shouted behind me.Richard’s face lit up. “Thank you, Lucy—”“It’s Miss Castle,” I interrupted.“Okay. Miss Castle.” A faint smile tugged at his mouth. “I’ll pick you up by 7pm.”“No need, I’ll drive myself. Just send the venue and I’ll be there.”“Alright, cool,” he said.“Excuse me.” I turned to leave, only to find Susan staring at me, arms crossed, clearly holding back a storm of things she wanted to say.She looked at Richard. Then back at me.The moment I got close enough, she grabbed my hand and dragged me backstage, moving so fast I nearly stumbled trying to keep pace with her.Once we were finally out of earshot, she dropped my hand, almost forcefully. “Why did you agree to that?”“Susan, can you calm down?”“Don’t tell me to calm down. Tell me why. After everything he did to you, you’re agreeing to go out with him?”“Susan, just trust me. I know what I’m doing.”“I hope you really do.” She turned and walked off, clearly furious.
Lucy’s povRichard and Clara were arguing near the far wall, half-hidden behind a marble pillar, but not hidden enough. Clara’s hand shot up, sharp and accusing, pointing directly toward where I stood. Richard caught her wrist mid-air and pulled it down, his jaw tight, his voice too low for me to hear but clearly not gentle.Wait. Was this about me?I told myself to look away. It wasn’t my business. But my eyes betrayed me and stayed exactly where they were.Richard said something final, something that made Clara’s whole body go rigid, and then he simply turned and walked off, leaving her standing there alone. She squeezed her hands into fists so tight her knuckles went pale, her breathing visibly uneven even from across the room. Then she looked up. Straight at me.The glare she gave me could have set the whole hall on fire. It lasted only a few seconds before she spun on her heel and stormed toward the exit.“What was that all about?” Susan’s voice came from behind me.“I can’t real
Lucy’s POVTwo days. That was all it took for my sleep to vanish and my sketch pad to overflow with new ideas. My fingers ached from hours of sketching, erasing, and stitching dreams into fabric. My next fashion showcase was only a few days away, and I wanted every thread, every fold, every silhouette to speak about something unique. The backstage area was alive with energy– fabrics rustling, zippers snapping, the scent of hairspray and perfume mixing with adrenaline. Susan was beside me, as always, pinning a loose strap on one of the models while barking directions at the makeup team.“Jenna, be careful with that gown!” she warned, pointing sharply. “If that sequined thread breaks, I’ll personally make you sew it back in the dark!”I couldn’t help but laugh softly, adjusting the hem of a flowing ivory dress. “Easy, Sussy. You’ll scare them before they hit the runway.”“They should be scared,” she said, tossing me a grin. “We’re representing Lucy Couture. We don’t do average here.”I
Richard’s POVShe was no longer the timid girl who was chubby, thick lens glasses and red hair. The ugly duckling as we all call her.She has transformed into a new person within these five years. Her confidence, radiant, good body and utterly in control. When I saw her standing under those golden
Five years laterLucy’s POVThe flash of cameras nearly blinded me as I stepped out of my black SUV.“Miss castle! Over here, please!”“Lucy castle! One smile for Vogue!”I turned slightly, offering them a small, practiced smile. Every step I took was poised and composed. The once timid, nerd girl
Lucy's povThe sunlight cutting through the curtains was blinding. I groaned and turned over, my eyes opened slowly, the golden boy of the school was lying right next to me and it was so real to be true. In between my legs aches, reminding me of my decision last night. He opened his eyes and it wid
