Solene's pov

I kept waiting for Noah to give an explanation of what's going on, my eyes could not leave his hand which rested perfectly on her thighs.

I had completely forgotten that a person named Mallory existed until some seconds ago.

Noah seemed to catch my reason for seething by the door, he removed his hand from her lap immediately.

He jerked from his reading chair.

“Solene, I didn't know you'd be back so early, you didn't knock.”

Back early? Is he being for real?

I spent an extra thirty minutes in school, and was not myself because I thought he'd be losing his mind over my late arrival.
