5. Reborn - to redeem her lost glory

Margarita closed her eyes as tears rolled down her face. She didn't want to believe what Lucinda was saying—that the sister whom she had loved and cared for was not blood-related to her.

She is a monster who took the life of her mother. Her gaze trailed to Murphy, whom she had wholeheartedly loved for years.; He was with Lucinda, and all the care and love were fake.

"You killed our mom. She raised you as her own. Dad might discriminate between us, but Mom never did. How could you be so heartless to have done this?"

Margar cried; she pointed at Lucinda, her eyes blurry as she sobbed. Lucinda laughed out loud like a maniac.

"You are so stupid and silly, hahaha; how could I not? She'll only foil my plans if I don't. In the car accident, it was me who was driving that truck.

And Cathy had tempered with the car break. Murphy here has cleared every piece of evidence," she declared, still laughing.

"It didn't stop there; the adopted daughter made sure she had snatched everything from her princess sister. All her money, her mom, her properties, and even..." Lucinda halted and gestured at Catalina.

Without wasting time, Catalina moved towards a pile of loads and pulled off the black sheet that was used to cover them. Lo and behold, Mr. Barlowe Remington, Margarita's dad, was lying there in the pool of his blood.

"Her dad," Lucy completed. "Aah, Dad!" Margaryelled. The blood from earlier had been from her dad. She made to rush over, but Murphy came standing in front of her, blocking her way.

"Your Dad took everything from us and caused my father's death. We suffered a lot until now, and I promised to seek revenge. The sight of you every day makes me want to rip off your head and smash you against the wall.

Each time you hug me, I scrub myself until I bleed. Each time you try to kiss me, I move away because I can't bear to kiss a disgusting mouth like yours. It satisfies me to see you so broken, like I've seen Cathy when our father passed away. It'll satisfy me more to see you dead."

He spat, and Margarita involuntarily shivered. "I didn't do anything," she wept, shaking her head as she took several steps back. She never would have expected this turn of events. Everything was happening so fast.

"You all are misunderstanding; we are not the cause," she cried, her voice coming out in a whisper. She didn't expect her childhood best friend to be her lover's younger sister.

"I swear, there's a misconception. I know… I know you love me as much as I do. Why would you do this to me? To my parents," she screamed as she moved behind, stumbling on her dress.

"Because we all hate you and your family. Don't you understand that everything was just pretense and a game? My brother never loved you. Lucinda never cared, and I never gave a fuck about you. It was all just for money and revenge !"

Catalina suddenly snapped; her eyes held deep hostility as she checked her watch. "We have thirty minutes to reach the wedding venue, brother. We should finish this, and let's proceed," Catalina urged.

Margar shook her head continuously as Murphy took the baseball bat from Lucinda. He smirked as he turned to the margarita and spoke.

"No one, not even the devil, will survive a fall from this place." Her eyes widened at his words.

"No, you won't do anything like that," she pleaded.

"Too bad, I will." As he spoke, he lifted the bat without blinking an eye and slammed it against her head. Her eyes were wide open in shock as he walked closer, pushing her from her position, and she tumbled, falling from the thirty-sixth floor.

Margar didn't miss the victorious look on their faces as she floated in the air. She was dressed in her wedding dress. It was supposed to be the happiest day of her life, but somehow it turned out to be the exact opposite.

Still confused as to why she had suffered such a cruel fate, she fell, her head hitting the installed floor iron, and blood spilled out from her eyes, nose, and mouth. Her white dress was soiled and soaked with blood.

Her vast, open eyes were filled with disarray, dread, dejection, and regret. If only she had known!

*******

A low, unbearable grunt escapes Margarita's lips as she peels her eyes open. Her solemn face was expressionless as she looked around.

'Where is she?' she thought, still scanning the place. Dressed in a beautiful white, glamorous wedding dress that had diamonds attached to every inch of the hem of the floating gown. She realizes a white veil is dangling from her hair.

Bone-crushing pain shot through her spine as memories from her past came rushing to her head at once.

A shrieking yelp escapes her lips as she clutches tightly to her head, trying to stop seeing those images. Their betrayals. Her lover and her older sister had teamed up to send her to the afterlife.

Images of how she'd wholeheartedly loved them flashed past, slapping her on the face as her core twisted in misery. Her eyes were wedged with tears, and her heart was bleeding from regret. Even her best friend joined in on her demise.

Oh! If only she'd realized earlier that it was all a facade. If only she were giving us a chance to return to Earth. But she knew deep down that it was all wishful thinking.

However, "Your wish has been fulfilled, Lady Margarita, to redeem your lost glory or to return as a villainess for revenge." She hears a voice deep in her subconscious.

Shocked, Margar turned around despite the terrible pain. She searched around for the owner of the voice but saw no one.

"To redeem your lost glory by moving on, or to become a villain in your own story by seeking revenge?" She hears the voice again. Margar couldn't understand what was happening, but somehow she could tell something unusual was going on.

"To redeem my lost glory" She found herself saying "To redeem your lost glory, you have to beware; your hatred remains in your soul, and revenge can't be controlled." She hears that same voice, and suddenly, a blinding light fills the space, and the next thing she knows, she blacks out.

The sun up high in the sky was scorching hot as she peeled her eyes open. Her nostrils welcomed the tantalizing smell of cupcakes and sushi. She knew this smell so well that she could never miss it, no matter the location.

Margar hurried out of her bed, looking around in confusion. She stared at herself and realized she looked a little younger. What was going on? She was in a dilemma.

"Didn't she die in the hands of the man she once loved?" She thought as the scene played in her mind. She recalls what had happened in the space and expressionlessly looks around; life has given her another chance for a change.

Margarita hurried to the calendar on the wall and discovered she was now nineteen years old and had been sent three years back in time.

She stared at the date twelve May and recalls it was the same day she had met Murphy Brown, on her first day of work in her dad's company.

"Princess, are you still asleep? Didn't you say you were going over to the company today?" Margarita hears the voice she thought she'd never hear again.

She watched as her mom, Juliana, strolled in and rushed to her embrace with teary eyes. "Mommy!" she calls out, hugging her tightly.

Juliana was stunned at Margarita's outburst. She beams as she hugs her back, patting her back with a sweet smile. "Oh, Margar, are you okay?"
