21. CONFLICT

(Due to some confusion with the characters. I thought about changing the name of Kate. Which is Sarah's friend, to Mason, which is originally her family name. This is to avoid mistakes while my readers are going through my books. But the name will only be changed when Kate is with Kate Cole ( Sarah sister))

Sarah looked at Mason with dread. She slowly stood up, her face pale and drained.

“Wh__ What do you say?” Sarah's heart kept beating frantically. She never in her largest dream would have thought that Mason found out about their secrets.

Mason looked at Sarah, and for some unknown reason, she began having some weird feelings. She looked at Sarah who looked lost and then everything started adding up. Sarah and Kate were sisters and John was Kate's friend, and they wanted to kill her just because she found out about John being a blood sucking demon. That means, Sarah was also a demon! She has been friends with a demon all this while.

Mason's eyes widened in shock as she unknowingly moved back, scared, her eyes alert as she looked back and forth. Scared someone would jump out and bite her.

This action didn't escape Sarah's perspective, although she felt hurt. She turned back to her sister. Her eyes demanded answers. Kate sighs softly as she goes on to explain all that happened.

“John needed blood, and as you would have it your best friend happened to walk pass. And then he called her and bit her, and then he tried erasing her memory. I don't know,maybe he was lost in his fantasy or something. As you would have it instead of sucking her blood, he mistakenly marked her, claiming her. So he can't erase her memories and this stuff. Gosh I am so tired.” Kate explained everything within a breath. Her chest heaving heavily after the long talk.

“So you thought the moment you had to do was to kill her? You didn't even bother to ask how I would feel? And I guess you would just deny the fact that you have anything to do with Mason's disappearance!” Sarah scolded her sister as Anger builds within her

“This is for the best Sarah. Believe me you would not want to cause trouble with those people out there. You know what happened the last time.” Kate raised her voice at Sarah. The fact that Sarah was disrespectful to her over a human girl, made her feel hurt and annoyed.

“Who cares what happened the last time? Listen sis. I don't care what mess you and your friend put yourself into, but believe me I won't just sit and watch you guys terminate my friend. I won't take that nonsense from you guys.” Sarah's voice for the first time sounded commanding. Even Kate felt it. Mason looked at Sarah, the fact that her friend defended her made her feel warm. Although she still felt complicated inside as she couldn't shake the fact that her friend was a Blood sucking demon. How many times has her blood been sucked?

That thought sent shivers down her spine.

“You don't care? Fine. But one thing first, don't ever raise your voice at me ever again. I ain't your mate. Secondly, If she's found out, believe me she would be killed the very next moment. And believe me, she won't even know how she died.”

“Well no one is going to know if you guys keep it a secret!”

“That's if your friend won't rat us out.” Kate spoke remembering how Mason called out to Sarah to run, because they were one sought of demon, she couldn't understand. Now what if Sarah wasn't here, but another human. That means they would have to silence two people. Kate had a headache just thinking about this.

“Sh_” Sarah went silent. Honestly she didn't trust her friend in this aspect. She knew how her friend Mason loved to talk. Gist and gossip about things. And to be honest that was one of the reasons why she loved her. Staying at home, before she ran away from there and coming to this academy, was a kind of a heavy torture to her. No friends. No one time gist with. Everyday her life has always been boring. That's why she didn't hesitate to help her sister on her mission. Because she wanted her sister back. She missed those little moments she spent with her. But knowing her friend was one thing and having trust in her was another. And she stood by her friend, all the way in. She has faith and trust that she won't rat them out. “She won't I can vouch for her”

“Listen__” When Kate still didn't want to give up in her argument and wanted to continue. Adrian, who leaned against the tree, finally spoke.

“It looks like my existence is completely not needed, as you guys can't sort things out. Sarah, keep your friend on a leash, all else I would be the first to end her.” Adrian intentionally settled the dispute that was about to escalate. Looking at Sarah then at Mason.

Kate swallowed what she was about to say. Although she hasn't really experienced Adrian's true strength. But she still has that little belief that she could fight to a standstill with him, adding her teams with her. But now wasn't the right time. She thought about the mission at hand. And decided not to cause any trouble. Not yet though.

John stood at the side, as he watched how the drama unfolds. His face that had been with a frown finally had a rare smile in it. When he had Adrian standing behind Sarah.

Sarah stared at Adrian with surprise. Honestly she had completely forgotten about him being here. But then he stood up for her without any thought. She knew that he was the first person that would kill Mason immediately he found out about her. But he didn't. He just stood beside her. Not making it obvious but obvious to everyone that wishes to go against him.
