Kai swung the door to the master bedroom wide open causing Akira to gasp at the splendor of the entire room.
Kai spared no words in describing the room to her earlier and now that she saw it with her own eyes, she felt like he did not do justice to this room. “Welcome….” Kai said rather coldly as he walked Into the room leaving Akira at the door. She on the other hand just stood there watching. He got into the room and took off his jacket quickly. He could not wait to get out of them especially as he had to wear them because Orion said so. Next was his cufflinks, and then his shirt and his shoes and socks. All that he had left was his pants. “What are you doing?” He asked her. “Nothing…” she replied, her eyes fixed on the ornate mirror on the wall. “Come inside, you will be staying here.” He said, pointing to a particular location In the room. She could not see what he was pointing at from where she stood. She reluctantly dragged her feet and walked into the room and saw he was pointing at a door.. “Where does that lead?” She asked. “Your room,” Kai answered. “So I won't be sleeping with you?” She asked. “No, is anything the matter? Do you want to sleep here with me?” She cringed, not at the idea of sleeping with him but at the thought of actually sleeping with him. Kai did not wait for a response and he went ahead to unbuckle his belt. Akira noticed and turned to look at him uncomfortably. “Are you going to go check it out or are you willing to stand here and watch, whatever option you choose is fine with me.” She walked towards the door and swung it open, it was just as good as the one behind her. “So what's going to happen? You have me here now, what next?” “Nothing,” Kai replied, not looking up from what he was doing, “let it be known that I gave you ample time to get into your own side of the room, behind locked doors before I get naked.” “Naked…” the words echoed in her head over and over again. Akira never knew that she could lose control of her imagination as she did at that moment. She gulped. Her saviour turned captor looked good enough. She was only human to be attracted and by all means, Kai was attractive. “Get a hold of yourself.” She muttered to herself as she closed the adjoining door behind her. It was going to be one long night …………. All was calm, silent and serene with the moon overhead. Kai and Akira both slept in their respective sides of the room but the concept of a peaceful sleep was far from them both With each of them facing their own storm. Kai's eye lids quivered and his brow ruffled. For the first time in a long time he cursed his being. Having a strong sense of smell had always been a good thing for him, no smell was outrightly bad to him. Everything was unique. But tonight? One of his greatest attributes was causing him a great deal of unrest. It all came back to the human next door, her scent filled his nose, his thoughts and his dreams. He thought he had seen it all but his discovery tonight was on a whole different level. Her scent was all he could think of. From a far distance once could resist but not when she was just at the other side of the room. His body responded. With the force of an unstoppable flood, his blood pumped hard and his member pressed tightly against the fabric of his underwear. He groaned and tossed around, throwing his pillow in frustration. “What is wrong with me!” He yelled. He paused and looked over to the adjoining door. He did not want to wake her And most importantly, he did not want her to see him in this state. There was no telling how much control he had left, his inner wolf was not helping matters. With the occasional whisper of how she smelt and how he would delight at her breaths coming in short spams . It was a delight, it was heavenly. “No!” He barked, “she's nothing to me!” ………….. Akira on the other hand was not having any better. She tossed around in her bed as the images of her first night here filled her dreams. “She is human!” “Kill her! Kill her now!” “She smells so weak, she doesn't deserve the next minute!!” Those words kept ringing over and over behind the horrible images that tried to attack her. What made this nightmare terrible was not the monsters or their words, it was Kai,more like the absence of Kai. His absence was a nightmare. At first she was not scared, nothing they said or did fazed her. She knew she still had Kai to protect her. “Where's your precious alpha?” One of the monstrous faces asked. She looked closely, it was Cain. “Your alpha is gone and now there's no escaping us!” “No…” she cried as she woke up from the horrible dream. She struggled to catch her breath and after she did she turned to look at the adjoining door. “Oh no!” She gasped, placing her hands over her mouth. …………… “Are you alright?!” Kai asked as he opened the door with force, “what's the matter.” He quickly found the light switch and flicked it on. The light pierced through the darkness to reveal Akira sitting up in bed, her knees drawn to her jaw and her entire body covered with her blanket. He came closer to find out that she was drenched in sweat. He could hear shaking, he could hear her heartbeat, it was faster than normal, the only other time he heard he heart beat like this was she had encountered houndras. “There's no way they could have made their way here” he thought. He was quickly drawn to Akira's silence,.he could sense her fear. It crippled her. “Talk to me…” he said, “what exactly happened here?” Akira just shook her head, how could she tell him of her nightmare. How was she going to explain that her fear was him leaving her again to face the cold hard world, and this was if she was able to survive the wolves who wanted her dead. How was she going to tell him that….. “Knock knock knock” came.the rasping sound of the main door. “Stay here.” Kai ordered as he crawled out of bed, his body glistening with his sweat and hers under the moonlight. “Who is it?” He growled as he opened the door to behold one of the messenger wolves. “I am sorry to disturb you lord Kai at this time of the night….” “And yet you did, but let's not dwell on that now shall we…” he said, his voice low and laced with venom, “why don't you proceed with what you came here for?” The messenger gulped in fear, “I am sorry my lord, I would not have had the boldness to knock on your door if not for the orders from master Orion.” “Must be serious.” Kai thought. “Go on,” he urged, “I will be with you both soon enough. He hurriedly got into a robe and grumbled all the way down the stairs. “What is Orion, This had better be good!” “Hello Kai….” Came a smooth feminine voice fork behind him, one he recognised. His pupils widened with recognition. “There's no way….” He thought. “Mirabel?”Kai swung the door to the master bedroom wide open causing Akira to gasp at the splendor of the entire room.Kai spared no words in describing the room to her earlier and now that she saw it with her own eyes, she felt like he did not do justice to this room.“Welcome….” Kai said rather coldly as he walked Into the room leaving Akira at the door. She on the other hand just stood there watching. He got into the room and took off his jacket quickly. He could not wait to get out of them especially as he had to wear them because Orion said so.Next was his cufflinks, and then his shirt and his shoes and socks. All that he had left was his pants.“What are you doing?” He asked her.“Nothing…” she replied, her eyes fixed on the ornate mirror on the wall.“Come inside, you will be staying here.” He said, pointing to a particular location In the room. She could not see what he was pointing at from where she stood. She reluctantly dragged her feet and walked into the room and saw he was poin
Dinner was over and it was time for them all to retire.Akira was the first to leave the table, she longed for the comfort of the bed provided for her here.“Where are you headed?” came Kai's voice, stopping her.“To my room?” She said.“You will be sleeping in my room!” Kai countered.Orion smiled.“I do not want to sleep in your room, talk more about sleeping with you.” Akira said, “my cell…”“Room…” Rune corrected. She sighed and rolled her eyes, “cell… is quite conducive for me, I would prefer it over there.” “Well you are my mate and my guest, it is not wrong for me to want you to have the best In this house, and the best room in this house happens to be mine.” Kai said.He could not let her out of his sight, he did not want to risk her, he did not want to lose her to her own vices.Kai might not have admitted it, but he was sacred, this was a mate that he had lived centuries for.He had made the mistake of letting her out of his sight, twice in the last three days and it almo
“No, no, no!” Kai said as he pushed Akira away, embarrassed, “this is not what it looks like.” Orion gave a knowing smile, “well….”“She tried to escape and…” Kai said, still struggling to find his words.Akira just knelt on the floor, her eyes teary at the near death experience. She could not believe that she could do something so stupid. If Kai did not grab her when he did, she could have been dead .“Do you have anything to say for yourself young lady?” Orion's voice pierced her thoughts and brought her to reality. Her response was a slow shake of her head, she was still shaken by what had just happened.“I could have died!” She sobbed.Orion walked up to her, kneeling with his hands on her shoulder.“Well I hoped that you learnt your lesson, if you must go anywhere, ensure you inform me first.”“What are you saying Orion?” Kai interrupted angrily, “she tried to run away!”“And you think that she is to be blamed for trying to run away, it is entirely your fault if your guest should
“Kai will be joining you shortly.” Rune said as he stepped away from the dining table but remained at a distance where she could see her clearly.Akira just sat at the long table as she stared into the open space. He did not need to leave her without supervision,he could tell she had other plans.True to his intuition, Akira did have plans to escape. To Rune, she was admiring the glory of the dining room but she had something much more sinister in mind.As soon as she heard the door close behind Rune she stood and got to work instantly. She has seen a couple of windows in the dinning, but she needed to confirm the quality of the glass and the distance of the window from the ground. She had made up her mind, she was not going to sit and watch the six months be over just like that. This was the first phase of her numerous plans to escape, getting alone.“Hello?” She called out, just to ensure that there was no one around watching her.Rune knew better, he kept quiet.Satisfied, she made
On the surface, one would think Rune was just being a jerk when he asked about the houndras. But on a much deeper level, there was something far more terrifying. “At least let me get changed into something else before shoving me into the bathroom” Akira protested. “Well there is no time, we just have thirty minutes to get you prepared for dinner.” “Kai doesn't like to be kept waiting.” Akira smirked, enjoying the devious look it had on her reflection in the mirror, “is he an impatient man?” She asked. “Well yes…” rune answered speedily, “wait ... .wait wait…” he said as he gave a second thought to the question and the answer that he gave. “No,no, no, he is not that.” He corrected me. “What is he not? Impatient or a man?” She asked, enjoying the games she was playing. “The first.” Rune said. “So he is a man? Impatience is a common virtue amongst men, trust me, I would know about that.” She said as she struggled with her laughter. “Enough of this rubbish, just have y
They met Rune who was just waiting for them at the general lobby. His shirt was roughened and his hair was also in a mess.“Here's Rune!” Orion introduced both of them.“How can I forget?” Akira said as she shot death stares at Rune.“Hello miss,” Rune said with a smile, “I am Rune, I will be helping you out during your stay here.” he said.Akira rolled her eyes, “I don't want to be here.”Rune who was still bamboozled from the gang up against him a few minutes ago looked to Orion who gave him a wink.He seemed to get the message and he decided to play along. The last human who did this with him was buried somewhere under the city junkyard; this one here would not be any different. He adjusted his shirt as he spoke up, “we do not intend on having you here for long either.”Orion frowned.“Excuse me?” Akira asked in disbelief.“You heard me right, human.” Rune fired back.“Rune!” Orion roared.“Forgive me lord Orion.” Rune apologized quickly, “but you do know for a fact that this….”
