Back to my normal life

Every morning was the same for Sienna, except for Saturdays when she had to go to mass to avoid the large crowds on Sundays. Since she was attending the wedding yesterday, she had to make up for missing church on Saturday the following day. She returned home last night at eight in the evening and didn't call her father back, because she knew that she has missed her weekly dinner appointment with her father. She had made it a point not to be seen by her father in the family company. Although she was working with Apollo at some stage for a couple of months before he got promoted. She kept to herself most of the time but her father always insisted that they make time for each other no matter how busy they get. Mass usually ends at 6 in the evening than from 6 up until 7 Sienna has dinner with her father and they catch up on things missed during the week and what has been going on in their lives.

Sienna got up Sunday morning and got dressed up to go to church, she had promised her best friend Gemma that; as she would make it to her branch but only a bit later because you had to meet up with her father. After church Sienna went to go meet up with her father at their favourite restaurant. A part of her knew that he wasn't going to be impressed with her because of what she did yesterday. To top it off; he had made the society pages for being Apollo's new love interest.

As soon as she walked into the restaurant she scans the tables looking for her father and found him sitting reading the paper with his cup of coffee in hand at the corner table that overlooked the city. She took a seat opposite him and ordered yoghurt with some granola and honey, with fresh fruit on the side. As soon as the waiter left she spoke.

" Dad I know that I let you down yesterday by not keeping our appointment but in my defence, I was at a wedding and I was at a friend's wedding. I was the maid of honour."

" Then can you please tell me what were you doing with that Driton boy doesn't he have a girlfriend?"

"He did have a girlfriend but that doesn't mean a thing right now because she cheated on him in public with my plus one who I was supposed to introduce to you this week but I'm not going to because he knew that it was over the minute he kissed her."

" You're calling your homewrecker. I've told you once and I'm not going to tell you again that boy is bad news he is going to break your heart and one day you remember me telling you that he has never had your best interest at heart."

"Are you saying that because he is moving out and opening his own business or are you saying that because you thought he'd never leave your company?'

" My answer to that is both. I'm also worried about the fact that he is not of your calibre and your class and you keep on running after him. The media spinning it that way, and I do know that you are always the alpha in your relationships so what is it about this guy that makes you want to fall head over heels for him and run after him? "

"Dad I think that you have the wrong end of the stick. I would never run after any guy if anything he's running after me and he ran after me yesterday after I left the venue. I didn't want to talk to him because of something he said."

"What did he say to you that was so bad that made you major get a panic attack? "

" I tend to forget that you've got eyes and ears everywhere , the panic attack was caused by something he said and an incident that happened that I didn't tell you about. Remember when I stood up for Apollo when his colleagues said that he wasn't qualified to be promoted because he had a bad habit? "

" His drinking? "

" Why am I always the last to know? "

" You are always the last night because you choose to always see the good in people and they take advantage of your heart and I don't think this guy is any different he's had a girlfriend for 6 months but he's getting all cosy with you, you're not going to play second fiddle are we clear? "

" Yes, papa. "

The food that Sienna had ordered; was ready and when the waiter place the food on the table and her father's food on the table they started eating and continued talking.

" I will be honest with you; I'm happy that Apollo is leaving my company. I know you left because you didn't want anybody to think that you were calling in favours for him from me but it seems like it's public knowledge now that you've always been at his side with regards to his career and he didn't know that you were the one who put in a good word for him. "

" I wish I didn't now because of what happened... I would have still don't it because he has it in him to be great. I had a panic attack triggered by something that he said and I've never heard him speak to me in the tone that he spoke to me and said the things that he had said to me. I've been hurt before but this was just a different kind of hurt."

"I know that there is no use talking to you because once you've made up your mind about loving someone you love them and you fall hard for them and I don't want to interfere but I am asking you if you are falling for this guy please be careful and have you guard up always. "

"Dad what do you know that I don't know? "

" I think Apollo Driton should tell you himself. "

" I'm going to brunch with them later on. "

" No you're not he is walking towards us and he has your favourite flowers. He likes you and you're in denial. "

" What? "

Sienna turn the back to look at what her father was talking about, at first she thought that her father was bluffing but he wasn't joking.

Apollo looked like a lazy Sunday morning he was dressed up in a white T-shirt and dark blue jeans with sneakers on. He wasn't wearing formal shoes like he had done before when he came to meet Sienna's dad which meant that something was going on that Sienna wasn't aware of.

She looked back at her father and he smiled. For a moment everything was peaceful til Sienna saw Apollo standing with white roses and a bottle of rum .

" Mr Morena . Good morning sir."

" Appolo you can join us for breakfast. "

Sienna shot her father a murderous looked and smiled at Apollo . She moved so that's Apollo could sit next to her, he handed her father the bottle of rum and handed the her the roses .

" I'm sorry about last night ... "

Sienna's father cleared his throat and spoke ;

" What did you say to my daughter and what are you two hiding that you don't want me to find out ?"

"Dad . "

"Apollo tell me now or I find out using other means and be mad at you for not telling me . "

"I came to end my relationship and friendship with your daughter sir. My girlfriend is pregnant and she made Sienna a hard limit. I'm sorry if I hurt anyone . I have a life I played a part in creating to take responsibility for . Have a great Sunday. "

Sienna looked at Apollo about to cry what the hell just happened and how could their friendship end abruptly?

Appolo left without saying anything to Sienna making her question everything they've been through and what she did for him.
