"Let me give you a message, daughter, you've been working since morning, I know you will be feeling pains all over your body" Mona's mum said and before I could protest, she dragged me to their bed and made me lay with my chest facing the bed.

She always drags me because she knows I always protest, it's not my fault though maybe because I  know what it feels like to be bothered by someone else.

She took the massage cream.

"Where should I start from daughter" she asked.

"Anywhere mum" I replied.

"Argh!!" we heard someone shouted.

"That's your friend, maybe she has gotten into trouble with her dad" mum said and we both went to the living room to see what happened.

"Where are you going, j thought I told you to and sleep" her dad scolded.

"I couldn't sleep dad, I want to show Jennie something, I'm sorry" she replied.

"So naughty, you want to show her something or you want her to sleep in your room?" he dad asked.

"Yes dad, it's been a while we gist, that's why I  want her to sleep in my room, I'm sorry I lied" she replied.

"Okay, I forgive you for her sake" her dad said.

"She needs to rest, you're going to school tomorrow, won't your gist and bad sleeping habit affect it?" he asked.

"No, dad it won't" she replied.

"Jennie can you cope?" her mum asked.

"Yes, mum" I replied.

"Okay then, here's the massage cream, give her a massage while gisting"  her mum said and she collected the cream.

"Good night mum and dad," she said happily and pulled me to her room.

"You're not serious at all, so you want to leave me here and sleep with my mum?" she asked.

"Dad said you were asleep" I replied.

"It's okay, anyway what happened to Sudan?" she asked.

"Mona, Sudan is pregnant again" I replied.

"What!" she exclaimed.

"Yes my dear, she is, I just hope everything will be okay soon, I'm really sad about what she's going through over there, can you believe that her husband is a drug addict, he can't make love to her without taking the drug and he would beat her to a pulp if she refused" I said with my voice cracking.

"A drug addict? I feel her pain, can't she leave that house and find something to do, when he knows he can't take care of her, why did he tell her to be a full housewife, some men are thoughtless" she said and I sigh.

"Mona, do you think we can ever make it in life? I mean why do we have to go through all these hard times with little or no hope of making it, how I wish I was never born" I said and smiled out tears.

"You don't need to talk like that babe, I believe there's always a light at the end of the tunnel, the fact that you're struggling so hard today doesn't mean you won't make it, everything happens for a reason, and there's always a painful story behind every success, just be thankful and prayerful" she said.

"I have a gist for you, but you're not in the right mood and it's late already, let's sleep, we will discuss it tomorrow," she said.

"I almost forget, mum said I should message you, where should I start from?" she asked.

"I'm fine, let's sleep, you suck at doing everything except food, you'll only worsen the pain I felt" I said and she smiled.

"Shut up, and don't dare tease me because of what mum and dad told you, my sleeping habit isn't that bad, and I'm working on it already,  more so why won't I sleep as I want when I have a bedroom as wide as this to myself, they are just jealous of me I guess," she said and chuckled.

"Jealous indeed" I replied.

"Come here let me cuddle you to sleep, but don't get hurt if I kick you in the middle of the night, okay?" she asked.

"Okay Mummy" I said and she laughed, I just cackled and moved closer to her, I rested my head on her chest and she used the blanket to cover us.

I don't know when we both drifted to the dreamland.

🌹The next morning 🌹

I woke up and look beside me, Mona wasn't there, where could she be? I gasped when I saw the time on the small clock beside her bed, its 7:30 am.

I can't believe I slept this long, I haven't slept like in a long time.

I stood up and ran to her bathroom, I took a quick bath and ran back to the room, I search for my bag, and take a jean and a round neck top, I wore it in a hurry and ran to the living room.

"Good morning, daughter" I heard her mom's voice.

"Good morning mom, I'm sorry I overslept, I thought Mona's alarm clock would wake us up" I said.

"It would have wake you up but I came into the room when you were asleep to take it, I know you would feel relaxed, and I don't want it to distract you, so when it rang I came to wake Mona up, she left for school with her new classmate that owns a car" her mum said.

Maybe that was what she wanted to talk about yesterday.

"Thank you very much mummy, I will like to be on my way now," I said.

"Won't you eat? I know you might not want to eat at home because you're late, I packed it with your lunch already" she said and went to the kitchen, she came back with a lunch box.

"I packed both breakfast and lunch together, make sure you eat it, or else I will spank you" she said and smiled faintly before collecting it from her hand.

"Thanks so much, mommy" I said.

"You've said that before, go now you're running late" she said and I bowed before leaving.

I don't know I can sleep peacefully as I did today, I don't even wake up at the right time, I use to wake up without the help of alarm at home.

I can't eat this food alone, Rosa might not have anything before leaving the house this morning, I'd better go and check her at her place of work.

I miss Jennie presence so much, I woke very early today and slept very late last night, the kids refuse to sleep because of she's not at home, I have to pat them to sleep one after the other.

I had to wake up very early today because I will bath, cook and dress the kids for school after I finished serving everyone, the food left was very small, I can even say I left the house with almost an empty stomach, Jennie is a heroine.

After doing all those work, I can't take the children to school, I made sure it was mum that take them to school, she should learn how to be taking care of her children, I would soon be sent out as they send Jennie.

Had it been I'm the one in Jennie or Sudan's position, mum and dad would have regretted ever having more the children they can take of.

"Rosa, someone is outside looking for you, she said she's Jennie" one of my colleagues said.

"Jennie?, that's my sister" I said.

"No wonder she looks pretty, you're all beautiful in your family," she said and I smiled.

"Thanks, please if the manager asks for me, a  cover-up for me okay?" I said.

"Sure, if not for anything but for that angel outside, please she's carrying a lunchbox don't forget I'm the one to cover up for you if the manager asks of you" she said and winked.

"Foodie, don't worry" I said and we both laughed.

I went out to meet Jennie.

"Hey sis" I said cheerfully.

"Good morning, how is everyone at home?" she replied.

"They're all fine except me" I said.

"What happened to you?" she asked.

"Nothing actually, I'm just tired and couldn't have enough food" I said.

I won't tell her it was mum that took the children to school.

"Sorry dear, I woke up late this morning, I'm just going for my first shift now" she said.

"Really?, that implies you had a wonderful night" I said.

"Yes, go get a bowl, let's share this food" she said.

"Is it that much?" I asked.

"Yes, it's my breakfast and lunch packed together" she replied.

I trust Mona's mum, she's such a great example for mothers like ours.

I went in and take a bowl, then went back to the meet her, she opened the box and we both gasped.

"I don't know it's as much as this" she said.

"This is awesome, I'm sure she made it personally for you" I said.

"I guess" she said.

We shared the food and I thank her, at least for remembering me, after that we all went our separate ways.

I've forgotten to ask if she later sees Sudan yesterday, anyway I will go check on her tonight and give her a serious warning, not to listen to mum's advice of having another child.

I was in front of my dressing mirror when my mum came in with an envelope in her hand, I hope it's not about travelling again.

"Hey son" she greeted.

"Good morning mum" I said and turned to face her, and pecked her forehead.

"Umm...Austin, there's this new partner of mine that sent this envelope, it's about a meeting in Las Vegas and I will want you to go and represent me because that day I would be in Miami, I have an important meeting there also, or which would you like to attend?" she asked.

"None mum, I don't want to attend any, I'm tired mum, I need to rest my head, the exam is coming up soon I need to prepare, do you want me to flunk it?" I asked.

"Please son, do this for me, I don't want us to lose any of our partners, it will help you when everything becomes yours, it's this coming week," she said.

"I don't care if we lose a partner or not, I won't go, we're travelling early next month and I need to prepare for my trip, sorry love, I can't help this time around" I said.

You have to, son if you leave for Las Vegas next week you can still make it with your trip since everything will be done inside America, you can drive to where your friends are or better still fly, you have your private jet" she said.

"You can also go, or better still mum, tell that partner to come here to Jeju, we have a lot of beautiful places you can have the meeting"

"I'm still a student all this business stuff is affecting me, I hate the fact that our wealth is too pronounced, why can't we just be in an average status, not too rich and not too poor"

"Mum, please think about my offer, adopt a child I want to sibling" I said.

"Let's say that's a deal, I will adopt a child when you arrive from your business trip and make her or him, the heir to some of your property" she said.

"Please son, have mercy on me" she said sadly.

"Stop giving me that kind of look mum, I'm getting fed up seriously, okay, I will go and I must meet my foster brother or sister at home when I return" I said.

"I promise" she said smiling.

Her smile though.

"Come down for your breakfast" she said and went out grinning.

If not that I've taken her happiness as my priority I wouldn't go.

"Enough of this dressing" I said to myself, took my car key a left the room.
