Chapter 16 If I Like Her

The butler simply smiled politely and ignored Janice’s bark. He left the study after putting down the cup of coffee, leaving Janice to rage on her own.

He followed Jared to the courtyard, but the wind was strong due to the heavy rain outside. “Mr. Crawford, the wind is too strong outside. You haven’t fully recovered after being discharged from the hospital a while ago, so you should go back inside.”

“She said something similar in the past,” Jared suddenly uttered.

The butler was startled.

However, Jared kept staring at the falling rain as he took a trip down the memory lane. “When we were still studying at university, she would always run to my class when it rains to give me an umbrella. She never cared if she was caught in the rain — she was always so silly.”
