LOGINAndrew's POV
I was sitting in my office, struggling to focus on my work. I found myself staring at Aria's picture, which I kept on my desk. I still mourned our baby, of course, but my primary concern was for her. I knew how much she wanted to give me an heir, and this desire had become a heavy burden for her lately. That was why I suggested she take a break from trying to conceive.
For my parents, having an heir was of utmost importance. I was worried my mother would pressure Aria into undergoing unnecessary treatments, which I wanted to avoid at all costs. I didn't want my parents to find something to use against Aria. The truth was that they never really liked her. They understood that I had fallen for her at first sight, but they always perceived her as a weak Alpha she-wolf. Although she was the firstborn and well-trained, they didn't question her physical strength; they questioned her inner vulnerability. They wanted me to dislike her for it, but the opposite was true. She was my Luna, my wife, my love, and as her husband and an Alpha, it was my duty to protect and care for her. I cherished our life together. Before our marriage, my parents had searched for reasons to dissuade me from marrying her. However, because of Aria's lineage, the influence of her family, and her exceptional bloodline and status, they ultimately had no choice but to accept her as my Luna. Concerned about my wife's well-being, I secretly contacted a doctor abroad, who agreed to an anonymous consultation. He told me that if my wife was healthy, there was no physical barrier preventing her from getting pregnant and carrying a baby to term. He suggested that her mental weakness might be causing her stress, and advised me to allow her a break to relieve the pressure. Finally, my thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. “Come in,” I said, and Seraphina stepped into the office. “Good morning, Alpha,” she greeted me with a smile, carrying a few folders. She looked as attractive as ever, dressed in a fitted skirt and a white shirt. Her blonde hair was styled in a bun, and her blue eyes sparkled as always. I glanced at the time before looking back at her as she took a seat opposite me. “You're late,” I noted, and her smile faded instantly. “I apologise, Alpha. I’m late because I was preparing the schedule for the week for the Luna,” she said, which surprised me. “Did Aria request that?” I asked. “I always prepare her plan for the same day,” she replied. “What plan?” I inquired. She was unaware of what had happened to Aria a few days ago, and while I wanted her to resume her normal routine, I didn’t want her to push herself to hide the truth. “The usual Luna schedule,” she answered. I raised an eyebrow. “What does that include?” I asked, and it seemed she finally understood my confusion. “Oh, the usual visits. I had her scheduled to visit the orphanage first because I know how much she enjoys being around the children. Then a few schools and the hospital, and I planned for her to end at the care home,” she explained. I had to do my best to conceal my thoughts. “Alpha, do you have any problem with that?” she asked, looking at me with concern. That reminded me I had no reason to oppose her plan. "No," I said with a sigh. "I just had an idea." My wolf had sent me a thought that seemed promising. "What is it?" she frowned. "Please check what we have on our schedule and arrange a free week for us next month," I said. She took out her phone. "What are you planning? A holiday?" she asked, and I nodded. "Yes, I want to take Aria away for a week." "Are you thinking of going back to meet Aria's family?" she inquired, which made me smile a little. Since our honeymoon, we haven't had time for a proper holiday. Whenever I have, I usually take Aria back home to Finwalley to see her family. But this time, I really wanted to surprise her. "I want to take her on a luxurious trip to the Maldives. Please book a five-star villa where we can spend our time undisturbed. I don't care about the cost," I said. Even though Seraphina tried to act like the Beta who must obey her Alpha, she couldn’t hide her surprise. "Alright, as you wish, Alpha," she said while noting it in her phone. "Do you want me to send you options, or would you prefer a surprise?" "Send me the options. I don't like surprises," I replied, and she nodded. "Do you want me or Sean to accompany you?" she asked, but I shook my head. "No, I just want to spend quality time with my wife," I said, and she nodded with a smile. "Understood. Give me a few hours, and I'll send you the best options," she said. "Is there anything else I can do for you, Alpha?" I shook my head. "Not this time. I'll call you when I need you," I said. She kept her smile as she stood up, walked to the door, and left my office. I leaned back in my chair and smiled while gazing at Aria's picture. It captured a moment when her laughter radiated joy, reminding me of the carefree times we once shared. The sun was setting in the background while her bare feet were in the water on the beach. I could almost hear her laugh echoing in my mind. I truly hoped this surprise trip I had planned would help her forget our problems, if only temporarily, and clear her mind and soul. I imagined us walking hand in hand on the beach, the sound of waves crashing around us, or sharing quiet moments under the stars, just like we used to. I imagined Aria’s eyes lighting up as we explored new places, tried new foods, and made new memories. When we returned, I was determined that we would be ready to embrace our lives together anew, leaving behind our struggles and stepping into a brighter chapter that could bring us the heir we wanted as well.As the scent lingered in the air and my mind drifted away, I failed to notice the man I was talking to had stopped speaking. I only realised when the room's attention shifted to one focal point: her. When I glanced at her, a sharp ache hit my chest, and I found it impossible to describe the emotions that left me motionless. It was a mix of pain and tightness in my chest—an overwhelming sense of remorse and regret, pure adoration, longing, and a touch of anger. The woman who entered the room with confidence was one of the most beautiful she-wolves I had ever seen. She had changed somehow. She was the same woman I married, loved, and adored for years—the same one I had shared my bed with. Yet, in that moment, she looked different. Her gorgeous figure was back, as if she had fully healed, and the stylish outfit she wore signified that her life was back on track. She looked well cared for; her beautiful dress likely cost a fortune, and the signature Finwalley ring on her finger had repl
"What happened?" I asked, sensing something terrible had happened. "Andrew," she sobbed, struggling to speak. "Andrew," she repeated, unable to steady herself."Sera, please try to calm down and tell me what happened," I urged her gently."The school... The school," she cried. "The school I visited today. Something exploded – maybe the boiler – and it caught fire. Many kids were injured; you must come home now," she sobbed. For a moment, I was at a loss for what to do. It was a tragic accident, but I had business to attend to."Okay, Sera, please try to calm down, all right? Let me call someone," I said."Andrew, please come back home now," she pleaded. I sighed. "Sera, I'll call you back in a few minutes, okay?" "Andrew, please come back home," she yelled. But first, I needed to find out what really happened. I knew it was harsh, but I suspected she wasn't alone, so I hung up.I called Caleb."Alpha?" he answered immediately, and the noise of sirens in the background suggested he
Andrew's POV"Andrew, I still don’t understand why I can’t go with you tomorrow. I’m not just your Beta anymore, remember?” Seraphina rested her palm on my thigh and leaned her head onto my shoulder.I sighed. “Sera, please understand. Caleb just started, and I can’t leave him here alone,” I said as I drove her home. She sighed and rolled her eyes. “Andrew, Caleb is a mastermind. You said it yourself—he already works like he’s always been with us,” she replied, clearly offended and crossing her arms over her chest. “Besides, you still ignored my complaint from last time,” she added, prompting another sigh from me.“Sera, he insisted it was just an accident, and he apologised. You belong with me; who would dare touch you?” I said, though part of me wanted to tape her mouth shut. I was starting to have enough of her.She chuckled bitterly. “I don’t understand why you won’t believe me when I say it was intentional,” she said quietly, clearly worried about annoying me.“You took the wron
In the blink of an eye, the living room became a salon. My father had arranged for an entire crew: stylists, hairdressers, makeup artists, and more. My heart was filled with happiness. It was just a gala—nothing particularly special—but I knew he wanted me to feel great again; he wanted to be proud of me. I was determined not to disappoint him."How do I look?" I asked Kara after I was finished. Kara's jaw dropped when I entered the room. "Dear Moon Goddess, Aria, you look gorgeous!" she exclaimed. Aiden, with his big blue eyes, stared at me in astonishment. I smiled at him as I walked over. "It’s Mummy, Aiden," I said. "Don’t you recognise me?" Once he smiled, we both burst into laughter.I truly felt good. I chose a champagne-gold satin gown with an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline, a sparkling, intricately embroidered corset, and a daring thigh-high slit. The silky skirt flowed elegantly to the floor, trailing behind me with every step. The stylist had let my long blond hai
"Bryan? Are you alright?" I asked him, and he seemed to snap back to reality immediately. He nodded in response. "Yes," he said. As I looked at him, I sensed that he had something on his mind, but he probably didn't want to share it with me while Kara was present. He remained quiet during those few minutes with us, but after that, he turned to me."I must go to work," he said. I decided to take the opportunity to talk to him.I sighed. "Kara, would you mind staying with Aiden for a little while? I'm just going out with Bryan for a minute," I suggested. Kara smiled at me, still holding Aiden."Of course, just go. We'll be alright here, won't we?" She addressed her question to Aiden. I smiled, then glanced at Bryan, who still hadn't smiled. As soon as we stepped outside, I started the conversation. "Bryan? Are you angry with me now?" I asked. He sighed in response."I am not angry with you. I can't understand why you didn't tell me about this event," he replied, and for a moment, I fel
Aiden was crying a lot, and I couldn't understand what was wrong. I checked him, but his temperature was normal, and his nappy was clean. "Perhaps his tummy is aching," Bryan suggested. "I'll go to the pharmacy and get something for him," he said. Still, I hesitated to give Aiden any medicine. He was born prematurely, and I remembered how fragile he looked during the first month of his life, which he should have spent in the safety of my womb. I shook my head."Isn't there a natural method?" I asked, prompting Bryan to think for a moment."There are herbs that wouldn't be harmful for a little wolf at all," he finally said, nodding. "Alright, I still need to go out, but I'll be back shortly," he added, giving me a quick kiss before rushing out of the house. Aiden would sometimes go quiet for a few minutes, but then he would start crying again, and my heart ached for him. I felt horrible not knowing how to help him.Bryan returned about half an hour later, rushing to the kitchen. Soon
