Aria's POV

"Are you alright?" Andrew asked me for the third time during dinner. I forced a smile.

"Of course. Why do you keep asking me?" I replied, questioning him in return. He sighed and wiped his mouth with a napkin.

"I’m asking because I spoke to Seraphina today. She told me she made your plan for the week, and I'm worried that visiting kids isn't good for your mental health," he said finally. It was nice to know that he cared about me so much.

"You don't need to worry, Andrew. Actually, visiting kids makes me feel better. It gives me something to do, and I enjoy spending time with them," I reassured him. I didn’t like how he kept staring at me, but eventually he picked up his fork and resumed eating. His behaviour made me uneasy, but perhaps that was just my fear of him finding out about my illness.

The night felt unusual. Even though I didn’t feel great, I didn’t refuse him. His closeness felt comforting as always, but in my mind, I was already ready for the next day—my appointment and the start of treatment.

The morning began as usual. I woke up alone in bed. Hilda made sure I had breakfast just the way I liked it, and after I ate, I got ready.

"I thought your plan started later, Luna," Hilda said, surprised.

"I decided to start earlier today. Maybe that means I can be back sooner as well," I replied.

"Oh, does the Alpha come home earlier today?" she asked.

"I don’t know if he can manage, but I certainly hope so," I said, and she seemed satisfied with my answer.

Once I was ready, I got into the car and drove to the hospital. I looked around nervously to make sure no one could tell Andrew I was visiting the hospital today. I knew I could come up with an excuse, but I didn’t want to worry him unnecessarily.

The receptionist directed me to the waiting area and reassured me that the doctor would call me in shortly. I didn’t have to wait long. Dr Parker invited me into his office with a warm smile.

"Scared?" he asked with sympathy.

"Yes," I admitted.

"No need to be. These treatments are safe, and I believe they’re effective in curing your disease," he said, leaving me stunned.

"But you told me the chances of getting better are fifty per cent," I replied.

"That's true. However, I’m a specialist, and if you ask me, this program is excellent," he continued. I nodded in understanding.

His explanation was lengthy, and I didn’t like that I would have to attend the hospital at least twice a week, nor did I like what he said about the medications I would need to take.

"So these pills will make me gain weight?" I asked, and he pursed his lips before nodding.

"Yes, they may result in some weight gain, but not so much that it would risk your health, Luna," he assured me, though that didn’t ease my concerns.

"You'll need to handle the side effects. If the mood swings become too intense, I can prescribe something to help with that," he said.

"So, you mean that if I can’t tolerate the medications, you can prescribe other medicines to treat the side effects?" I asked, feeling confused. He nodded.

I sighed and closed my eyes for a moment. "How long will the treatment last?" I inquired, and he paused to think.

"At most, three months. After that, to avoid risking your health, we’ll need to stop. However, if we reach that point, it means..." He trailed off.

"That means the treatment was unsuccessful," I finished for him, and he nodded again.

"Exactly," he confirmed.

Processing everything felt like wading through murky waters. I glanced at the five prescriptions laid out before me, and for a fleeting moment, doubt crept in—I thought about turning my back on the treatment entirely. But then, an image of that poor Luna pierced through my thoughts. I could still see her standing there, desperation etched on her face as she pleaded with her Alpha, her voice breaking in the room's sterile silence. They had dragged her away, forcing her into a divorce and banishing her from her home—a fate without mercy or recourse. The weight of her anguish settled over me, igniting a fierce resolve I couldn't ignore.

I swallowed hard and took the prescriptions.

"You might feel dizzy at times, and you may experience drowsiness, but that's completely normal," he said, probably noticing the internal struggle displayed on my face. "Luna, what's wrong?" he asked, and I lowered my head. However, I quickly looked up when I felt his hand on mine.

"Luna, you will be my patient, and for this treatment, we need to trust each other," he encouraged me to open up. I realised I had no one else to talk to about this, so I decided it was better to accept his offer.

"It's just overwhelming. I'm worried. I'm doing this to save my marriage and my job, but if these symptoms keep happening, I have to question whether it's worth it. How can I keep this a secret from my husband?"

I felt on the verge of tears, but Dr Parker seemed to understand.

"Luna, there are many reasons for your symptoms, and if your husband is becoming concerned or trying to find out what's wrong with you, please rely on me. Make an appointment with me, and I promise I will help resolve the issue," he said, but I couldn't grasp how he intended to do that.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I believe that, in this case, a little lie wouldn't hurt anyone," he replied with a smile.

What he said made me feel a little more at ease. I smiled at him in gratitude as I stood up.

"Thank you so much, Dr Parker. I don't even know how to express my gratitude for your help with this," I said. After he stood up, he walked around the desk and took my hand.

"For me, it is a pleasure to help my Luna," he said, which made me smile again. I was about to pull my hand away when my phone rang; it was Andrew.

I answered as soon as I stepped out of the hospital. "Where are you?" I heard his astonished voice. In the background, I heard the Omega servants’ voices from our house. He was home.

As the scent lingered in the air and my mind drifted away, I failed to notice the man I was talking to had stopped speaking. I only realised when the room's attention shifted to one focal point: her. When I glanced at her, a sharp ache hit my chest, and I found it impossible to describe the emotions that left me motionless. It was a mix of pain and tightness in my chest—an overwhelming sense of remorse and regret, pure adoration, longing, and a touch of anger. The woman who entered the room with confidence was one of the most beautiful she-wolves I had ever seen. She had changed somehow. She was the same woman I married, loved, and adored for years—the same one I had shared my bed with. Yet, in that moment, she looked different. Her gorgeous figure was back, as if she had fully healed, and the stylish outfit she wore signified that her life was back on track. She looked well cared for; her beautiful dress likely cost a fortune, and the signature Finwalley ring on her finger had repl

"What happened?" I asked, sensing something terrible had happened. "Andrew," she sobbed, struggling to speak. "Andrew," she repeated, unable to steady herself."Sera, please try to calm down and tell me what happened," I urged her gently."The school... The school," she cried. "The school I visited today. Something exploded – maybe the boiler – and it caught fire. Many kids were injured; you must come home now," she sobbed. For a moment, I was at a loss for what to do. It was a tragic accident, but I had business to attend to."Okay, Sera, please try to calm down, all right? Let me call someone," I said."Andrew, please come back home now," she pleaded. I sighed. "Sera, I'll call you back in a few minutes, okay?" "Andrew, please come back home," she yelled. But first, I needed to find out what really happened. I knew it was harsh, but I suspected she wasn't alone, so I hung up.I called Caleb."Alpha?" he answered immediately, and the noise of sirens in the background suggested he

Andrew's POV"Andrew, I still don’t understand why I can’t go with you tomorrow. I’m not just your Beta anymore, remember?” Seraphina rested her palm on my thigh and leaned her head onto my shoulder.I sighed. “Sera, please understand. Caleb just started, and I can’t leave him here alone,” I said as I drove her home. She sighed and rolled her eyes. “Andrew, Caleb is a mastermind. You said it yourself—he already works like he’s always been with us,” she replied, clearly offended and crossing her arms over her chest. “Besides, you still ignored my complaint from last time,” she added, prompting another sigh from me.“Sera, he insisted it was just an accident, and he apologised. You belong with me; who would dare touch you?” I said, though part of me wanted to tape her mouth shut. I was starting to have enough of her.She chuckled bitterly. “I don’t understand why you won’t believe me when I say it was intentional,” she said quietly, clearly worried about annoying me.“You took the wron

In the blink of an eye, the living room became a salon. My father had arranged for an entire crew: stylists, hairdressers, makeup artists, and more. My heart was filled with happiness. It was just a gala—nothing particularly special—but I knew he wanted me to feel great again; he wanted to be proud of me. I was determined not to disappoint him."How do I look?" I asked Kara after I was finished. Kara's jaw dropped when I entered the room. "Dear Moon Goddess, Aria, you look gorgeous!" she exclaimed. Aiden, with his big blue eyes, stared at me in astonishment. I smiled at him as I walked over. "It’s Mummy, Aiden," I said. "Don’t you recognise me?" Once he smiled, we both burst into laughter.I truly felt good. I chose a champagne-gold satin gown with an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline, a sparkling, intricately embroidered corset, and a daring thigh-high slit. The silky skirt flowed elegantly to the floor, trailing behind me with every step. The stylist had let my long blond hai

"Bryan? Are you alright?" I asked him, and he seemed to snap back to reality immediately. He nodded in response. "Yes," he said. As I looked at him, I sensed that he had something on his mind, but he probably didn't want to share it with me while Kara was present. He remained quiet during those few minutes with us, but after that, he turned to me."I must go to work," he said. I decided to take the opportunity to talk to him.I sighed. "Kara, would you mind staying with Aiden for a little while? I'm just going out with Bryan for a minute," I suggested. Kara smiled at me, still holding Aiden."Of course, just go. We'll be alright here, won't we?" She addressed her question to Aiden. I smiled, then glanced at Bryan, who still hadn't smiled. As soon as we stepped outside, I started the conversation. "Bryan? Are you angry with me now?" I asked. He sighed in response."I am not angry with you. I can't understand why you didn't tell me about this event," he replied, and for a moment, I fel

  • Too Weak To Have An Heir    Chapter 120 Why are you so angry?

Aiden was crying a lot, and I couldn't understand what was wrong. I checked him, but his temperature was normal, and his nappy was clean. "Perhaps his tummy is aching," Bryan suggested. "I'll go to the pharmacy and get something for him," he said. Still, I hesitated to give Aiden any medicine. He was born prematurely, and I remembered how fragile he looked during the first month of his life, which he should have spent in the safety of my womb. I shook my head."Isn't there a natural method?" I asked, prompting Bryan to think for a moment."There are herbs that wouldn't be harmful for a little wolf at all," he finally said, nodding. "Alright, I still need to go out, but I'll be back shortly," he added, giving me a quick kiss before rushing out of the house. Aiden would sometimes go quiet for a few minutes, but then he would start crying again, and my heart ached for him. I felt horrible not knowing how to help him.Bryan returned about half an hour later, rushing to the kitchen. Soon
