Her Saviour

Why was life always so complicated? So fraught with problems? Like walking on eggshells, you could hear them breaking at every step you took. If only it was easier to see ahead and know the consequences of what choices we made! Devlin moaned inward. Emotion and tension flooded through him as he thought of Sarah.

Not sending her away, he admitted, was indeed his greed. He knew it was his greed but he had kept not wanting to hear the reasons why he should send her back. He kept making excuses of how it was okay not to send her. So, something bad really happened!

As he broke all speed records, Devlin’s scared heartbeats were whispering only one word, Sarah. Please, don’t let anything happen to her, please. For the first time in his life, Devlin prayed vehemently.

Sarah’s head ached. She could feel an unfamiliar bump on her forehead.
