~ Aria's POV

The smell of cashmere wood wrapped around me like a cloak as I entered the room with Thorne. The entire room smelled like Thorne—rich, earthy, and masculine. Every corner whispered something about him—his personality, his silence and his strength.

The room was painted in dark colours, and the heavy gray curtains were drawn shut, drowning the room in shadows. If not for the faint ceiling light glowing above, the room could've passed for a shrine of darkness.

His bed stood tall—larger and grander than the one I shared with Callista. I wasn’t surprised that his room looked like something out of a royal catalog. After all, he is an Alpha heir.

Secretly, I wondered how Lucian and Raven's rooms would look. Do they also stay alone or share a room with someone?

It was oddly amusing that the first guy’s room I ever stepped into at Eclipse Academy belonged to someone who barely speaks to me.

"Are you really here to check on me or curious to see what my room looks like?" he asked.

~ Raven's POV ~Two humans being murdered in just a week wasn't something you could simply look away from. Who was killing them, and why, was a terrifying, unknown void.I knew it had nothing to do with Aria. She was innocent, damn it. But with how everyone in that self-righteous academy kept insisting a Vamwolf was responsible for the deaths of humans, it made me want to punch every single one of them in the face. But she kept holding me back, saying I shouldn't do anything to create suspicion. And she was right, kind of. If we tried to rebel against their ignorant consensus, they'd find it instantly suspicious. The worst, most infuriating part? My own brother, Darian, and his snake of a girlfriend were the leading team, practically shrieking that the murderer was a Vamwolf."You sent for me, Raven," he said, his voice grating on my nerves as he entered my room."Where were you when I called a few hours ago?" I demanded, my tone a low snarl."I was with Callista. We were making poste

~ Aria's POV ~"Maybe the full moon thing doesn't work on you, which is why you didn't shift into a wolf last night," Lucian suggested."Yeah… maybe. You should worry about not shifting into a wolf, Skylight. What's important is knowing how to be stable when you snap," Raven said, rubbing my shoulders."Exactly." Thorne nodded in agreement. "That's what I keep telling her, but she won't listen."After I didn't transform into a wolf last night, I had been worried about it, wondering why I wasn't like the rest of the werewolves who had seen and gotten used to their wolves."What if I don't have a wolf?" I asked, letting my worries be known to them."That's not impossible, Bunny. It whispered to you that I was your mate, and the same applied to my wolf too. It wouldn't have been possible if you didn't have a wolf. I'm sure you'll shift at the perfect time," Thorne smiled at me.I was about to state another worry when we heard a loud scream from the woods. We were all taking a walk, but a

  • Torn Between Monsters    Chapter 168

~ Aria's POV ~I stood by the window in my room, staring into the quiet darkness outside, but my mind was anything but calm. The innocent human who was murdered… her face wouldn’t leave me alone. And neither could the memory of what Lucian and Sybille had done to that man.I wasn't trying to be ungrateful. I was grateful to them. At least with what they did, he wouldn't point fingers at me... but still, I felt like they had done the same thing to me.Even now, I still couldn’t remember why I had gone to Sybille’s house that day. Or how Lucian had claimed we’d had sex. The more I thought about it, the more impossible it seemed. There was no way I would forget something like that. No way.If my instincts were correct, then why did he wipe my memory of that day? What did I say, or perhaps what did he say that made him wipe my memory?"Can't sleep?" Callista asked when she tossed around and found me standing by the window.I turned to her and shook my head with a little smile. She groaned

  • Torn Between Monsters    Chapter 167

~ Aria's POV ~"Are you trying to accuse us of killing a human?!" Lyra snarled, her golden eyes flaring like molten fire."I'm not trying to accuse anyone," Dahlia defended herself. "I'm only stating a fact. That human girl was obviously killed by a vampire and a werewolf!"In a blink, Seraphina blurred forward, fingers locking around Dahlia’s throat. "I might not be the kindest person alive," she growled, lips peeling back to reveal sharp fangs, "but I would never murder a human!"Was she being serious right now? Didn’t she try to kill me when I was still human? But that wasn't the issue. The issue was that a human was murdered by a vampire and a werewolf."Let go of her, Seraphina!" Miss Hellcat demanded."I think Seraphina should teach her a lesson," Ixora sneered. "Everyone knows vampires and werewolves hate each other. They would never team up to kill a human… It can only be done by someone who's both a vampire and a werewolf!"I swallowed hard again, watching them gossip about I

~ Aria's POV ~I waited patiently for Ryker to show up at the eatery where I had asked him to meet me. While I waited for him, everyone in the eatery kept looking at me and whispering to themselves. They were trying to keep their gossip about me out of my hearing, but little did they know that I could hear every word that came out of their mouths. They weren't talking about my face or my body. They were gossiping about my hair, about why it was silver-white and why it was so long, down to my knees. I could feel the suspicion in their eyes. They wondered if I was part of the outcasts in Velmora.Yeah… Outcast, that's what they called us. The word Outcast made me remember Jeremiah. He was still in the hospital and hadn’t tried to reach out. I hope he does one day. He was still my very first human friend, no matter what."Aria?" Ryker's voice broke me out of my thoughts. When I lifted my head to him, he was staring at me, especially at the length of my hair."Your hair? What happened to
