“Good!” she replied, a smile in her voice. “The children are eager to see you.”

“We can’t wait to see them, either.” I smiled into the phone. “Raven, you’re welcome to join us for dinner, if you like.”

“It’s okay. I’ll let you have some family time.”

“Well, Lance and I also wanted to speak with you about the weekends.” I let out a deep breath. “We discussed it, and we’re going to buy a house here. Then we can come up on the weekends, and the kids can stay with us, like their home away from home.”

“That would be wonderful,” she replied, “but they may want to stay for a football or a soccer game or something of the like.”

“Well, Lance and I can take them if they have a game or a function.” I smiled. “I’d like that.”

“Good!” she replied. “Let’s talk about it when you get here.”
